How can you utilize graphics and text to maximize your impact on the viewer? Edit RAW Footage of the Homecoming Pep Rally or dance into a 6-8 minute highlight of the event. Utilize Adobe Premiere to achieve their editing needs. Understand that editing is not only a technical ability but also a creative one as well Edit music as well as video to enhance their productions. 4 Unit 3 Pro-Show Producer Photo Montage 21 days Why would Photoshop be a good tool to use for scanning and editing pictures? What would an interactive DVD menu add to your overall production? What kind of design elements would enhance the packaging of your Photo Montage DVD? Why is it important to choose the appropriate music for your type of production? Why is it important to scan & crop family pics How does Pro Show Producer differ from Adobe Premiere Crop, scan and edit photos. Import digital pictures and adjust in Photoshop. Import edited pictures into Pro Show Producer. Select appropriate music for their production Edit photos into a photomontage with GFX, MX & transitions Export Photo Montage into DVD Create DVD menus in Pro Show Producer Use Photoshop to design DVD cover and disc artwork. Circulate around room checking students are on task. Assist individual and small groups with specific problems during the production. Create a brainstorm list of possible production ideas. Write a script of the spoken word for thie video. Create a storyboard depicting the scenes within their production. Film and edit production. 7 Unit 6: PSA Competition 15 days What would be some reasons the Highway task force would want to create a video competition for HS students? What are some things to consider in creating a 30 second PSA? How can Adobe premiere be used in the production of a PSA and what tools could be used to enhance the production? Understand the dangers of *Driving under the influence * Driving Distracted * The GDL (Graduated Drivers license) Quickly and efficiently edit a production in a given amount of time. 8 Unit 7: :30 & :60 Commercials Can students distinguish between different styles of commercials? What is meant by knowing you demographic in relation to commercials? What makes a successful commrecial? How can the use of voice over s and text enhance a commercial? What production techniques could be used to capture the audiences attention? Distinguish between the various commercials discussed in class. Convey an idea that promotes a product, service or event into a 30 second and a 60 sec commercial. 9 Unit 8: Concept Video Production 14 days Why is it important for musicians and bands to create music Videos? How is a concept video different from an a traditional music video? What are some examples of a concept video. What editing techniques can you use to enhance your concept video? Who is the taget audience for your production and how can that affect your editing? Use their creative abilities and create an entertaining concept video that show their interpretations on the song. Create an advance production using adobe premiere and showcase to other students. 10 Unit 9: Lyric Video Production 14 days Why would someone put lyrics on a video production? How can putting lyrics on a song enhance its commercial appeal? What are some techniques that could be used in premiere to create titles? Creatively make titles of the lyrics that are matched to the song. Choose a song and download it from youtube and then insert into production at correct aspect ratio and scale. 11 Unit 10: Career report & Presentation 10 days What does the Bureau of labor and Statistics have to do with careers? What are some careers that you would like to pursue? Why is it important to know about the job prospect of a career in the future? IS is important to you to know the mean, median and mode salaries of a career of your choosing? What are the advantages of speaking off a teleprompter? How does speaking infront of a crowd prepare you for life? Know something about a career of their choosing. Speak intelligently about an occupation. Gain experience as a new anchor person by reading their report on camera off the teleprompter. 12 Unit 11: Portfolio DVD 10 days Why is it important to have a collection of your video productions throughout the year? What post production skills are need to create a custom DVD? What program would be best suited for DVD authorization? What is the advantage of using Adobe Encore within the Adobe Suite CS5? Which Adobe program is use to create the cover and disc art and whay advantages does that program have over paint or similar programs? Create a custom portfolio DVD that showcases each of their projects throughout the year. Use Adobe Encore & Photoshop to creatively product the cover, disc and menu art for their DVD Output their productions in a format that best suits their needs, whether it be for DVD, YouTube or a website or social media Showcase their production to colleges or trade schools requiring a demo of their work. 13 Unit 12: Prom Edit EXAM 5 days What makes for a good production? What skills are needed to become a good editor? How does choice of music effect the overall enjoyment value of a production? What can be done to enhance an average piece of raw footage? How can the use of titles and motion backgrounds be used in your final exam? What are some of the key moments of the prom RAW footage? Effectively and efficiently create a highlight video of the prom. Create titles and graphics of the prom court. Showcase their editing skills in the production of the prom edit.
