Signal Processing Library Further extending the performance and ease of use for enabled devices
Why is library effective for customer application? Get to market faster with ready-to-use signal processing algorithms for matrix/array operations, digital signal processing, and video/image processing. Customers can use the freed up MIPS on the DSP to do more (e.g. higher frame rates, higher resolution or just implement better or more algorithms.) lib enables customers to extend application performance and flexibility of enabled products while reducing development time.
What is? The is: Video and Imaging Coprocessor. H/W accelerator that is available on DM6441/6 and DM647/8 devices. Running at half the frequency of the DSP.
delivers additional processing performance and system headroom Available now, royalty-free library includes C equivalent implementation of all the APIs extends software performance for customer applications C64x+ DSP Core Enables advanced features Basic Mass & Signal / Image / Vision Faster time to market Ready to use algorithms that are tested for correctness and efficiency 4
support various operations to enable additional DSP resource Basic Math and Signal Processing functions: Operation between two arrays: A.B, A + B, A B, A B, A & B, A B, A ^ B, min(a,b), max(a,b) FIR Filtering IIR Filtering FFT, DCT, Wavelets, etc Matrix Multiplication Table lookup Image Processing functions: Color space conversion Bayer RGB conversion RGB888 RGB555, RGB888 RGB565 3x3 Median filtering Alpha-blending, bit-blt Affine transform (rotation, resizing) Vision functions: Sobel edge detection Gaussion Pyramid Integral Image Binary Morphology Applicable applications: Signal analysis and testing systems, medical image processing, image manipulation, seismology, computer vision, feature extraction, automotive safety applications, digital communication, morphological image processing, audio effects generation, security and analytics systems.

3.0 benefit Opened-up an extra layer of programmability with the release of 2 libraries: The computation unit library contains > 30 functions that the customer can chain together to produce more customized algorithms. Customers will have the extra capability to implement beyond what is available through the current signal processing library. The scheduling unit library provides the necessary infrastructure so the chaining of several functions doesn t add any DMA bandwidth and minimizes the setup overhead. It programs the scheduling unit along with the EDMA3 hardware so the data transfers are always synchronized with the processing in the most efficient manner.
