1 Welcome to The Villages Computer Plus Fred Benson Presenting All About YouTube Details.

2 Announcement I did All About YouTube presentation at VCC in October. The reason I am doing it here is to show more details. Next is the All About YouTube list that I showed at VCC. After that, I will show you different details.

3 All About YouTube There are over 1 billion YouTube accounts. There are about 4 billion people view YouTube per day! There are a lot of different Videos on YouTube, like Music, Tutorials, Personal, City s, TV Shows, Movies, News, Sports, Business, etc. Next is what can you do with YouTube without a Gmail or YouTube account.

4 What can you do with YouTube without a Gmail or YouTube account? You can search YouTube for the type of Videos you want to view. You can share the video. You can embed a video to a website. Next is what else you can do, if you have a Gmail or YouTube account. On my VCC presentation I showed how to create an account, like Paul Rabenold showed in All About Google presentation in VCC. He also showed part of YouTube. It is on the VCC website.

5 What else can you do with YouTube with a Gmail or YouTube account? Upload video(s). Download your video(s). Delete video(s). Download free music. Create a Slide Show video. Edit video(s). Next, is what I will show.

6 I will show you a list of items below. As I mentioned, you need an account. Upload video(s). Download or delete your video(s). Download free music. Edit video(s).

7 Upload Video to YouTube. You have two options. One is upload from your computer, which is first. Second is import from Google Photos. Note you can upload a Video on YouTube with a size of just 15 minutes, but you can increase that for free. The maximum is 128 GB. The great news is that YouTube excepts about 8 different files like these - MOV, MP4 (MPEG4), AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MPEGPS, WebM. If you have a different file, you have to convert it with atube Catcher.

8 Upload Video to YouTube. If you have Gmail, sign-in and go to YouTube. If you don t have Gmail, but have a Google account, go to YouTube and sign-in. I showed how to sign-in or create an account in VCC. Next is how to Upload a Video.

9 Then click on Upload in the upper right.

10 The page changes and you see click on Select files to upload.

11 File Explorer opens. Find a folder with the Video you want. Double click on the folder and double click on the video or click on it and click on Open.

12 YouTube page changes and it is Uploading You can make changes before it is finished, which I will show next.

13 You click on the download next to Public and you see Unlisted and Private. Next, explains it.

14 What is Unlisted or Private vs. Public? If it is Public, and people search on YouTube, they may find your video. If it is Unlisted, people will not find it when they search. But, if you share it with the link, people can send the link. If it is Private, and you want to share it with only some people, they will have to have a Google account. Next is change the name.

15 I changed it to Unlisted and you see Done vs. Public. You then highlight the Name and make a change, which is next.

16 I changed it to Venice Vacation. Next is when it is complete.

17 When it is complete, you can change the Description. Next is what is Description.

18 What is Description? When people open a YouTube video and scroll down, they see a Description of what the video is. When you create a Slide Show, it shows - I created this video with the YouTube Slideshow Creator ( that is a link. When you upload a Video, it does not show the Description, but can you add one. Next is a sample of making a change.

19 Here is a sample of typing in Text in Description. Note - The other slides do not show that.

20 When it is complete, you can change the Thumbnail, which what displays before it is played. Next is how to change Thumbnail.

21 When you hover over one, you see Set as thumbnail. When you click on it, you will see the change, which is next. Note the other option is Custom thumbnail, which is adding a Photo. But, it is not on the video when you play it. It is just the display before you play. Custom thumbnail does not show until you enable it.

22 How to enable Custom thumbnail and increase the size to upload a Video? Here is a Link to a video with details that show you how to increase the size of a Video. Once you do it, it also enables the Custom thumbnail. Note I do Custom thumbnail to add a Title photo.

23 You see the change in the upper left. It tells you to Click Done to confirm, so click on it and next is what happens

24 You then see it is complete and you can Share it, like I showed in VCC. Next is the other option Upload from Google Photos.

25 Upload from Google Photos I will show you a sample. You click on Upload.

26 Then, click on Import on the right under Google Photos. Note you have to have a Video on Google Photos.

27 Page changes and you see two of my videos on Google Photos from Google Drive. Click on one and then click on Select.

28 Page changes like I showed you before. Same process, you can change names, Unlisted, Custom thumbnail when finished, etc. Next, when finished.

29 I changed Name, changed to Unlisted and changed the Thumbnail. Then click on Done. If it is Publish, it is not Done, it is Publish.

30 Once you click on Done, page changes just like I showed you before. Next is how to get to Video Manager and download or delete your Video.

31 You have two options to get to Video Manager. First option is if you upload a Video, like I just showed, Video Manager is on it. I will zoom in, so you can see it. You then click on it. I will show you later what happens.

32 Second option is you click on the on the icon in the upper right and then click on Creator Studio.

33 Page changes and you see VIDEO MANAGER. Click on it.

34 You see it highlighted and page changes. To download or delete, you click next to Edit.

35 You then see a list and you see Download and Delete. You then click on which one you want. Next is How to Download Music.

36 You see Create on the left. Then click on it.

37 You see Audio Library with Free music. You click on the this icon play it. before the music to Once you find one you like, click on the download icon Next, shows you the process.

38 Each browser is different. I will show a sample of Internet Explorer. When you click on download it shows this at the bottom. You click on Save. You see it is complete and click on Open Folder. Next is a sample.

39 File Explorer opens in the Download folder and you see the music. Next is how to Edit a Video.

40 Video Editor Features Add Title Mute Music & add different Music Split Remove part of the Video Add Transition Effects Add Caption(s) Add Photo(s) Add Video(s) Project Options I will show you a few Features.

41 How to get to YouTube Video Editor and add Video? You have a few options to get to Video Editor. First option is go to Creator Studio. Second option is when you click Upload, it shows Video Editor. It is easier and I will show you that one.

42 When you are in YouTube with your account, click on Upload in the upper right.

43 The page changes and you see Video editor in the lower right. Then click on Edit.

44 You see video(s) and my account has a lot of Videos. Next is how to add a video.

45 First click on a Video hold it down and drag it over on the left below.

46 Here is a sample of dragging it. Once you get it to the left of that, let it go and then click on it, which is next.

47 Once you click on it, it starts to play it and it shows Quick fixes. Next is how to add a Title.

48 First click next to the video and it changes, which is next.

49 It sometimes start to play and you see different options. First click on a to add Title.

50 It sometimes start to play and you see different options. First click on a to add Title.

51 You click on one, like this one and hold it down and drag it just before the video, which is next.

52 Once you drag it to that point, let go and click on it and changes, which is next.

53 You see the Title with text options. Next is change the Text.

54 You highlight the Text and type in something like Venice. You can change Font, Bold, Italic, Size, Color and Background color. Next is a sample.

55 Here is the sample. Next is to change the seconds.

56 You click on the middle in the right and hold down and drag it the right for about 3 seconds and let go and click on it to stop, like I did. You can add another Title at the end, or add one between Split.

57 Why Add Title? One reason to add a Title is if you added two videos from vacations and you wanted to add a title of different location. Second reason is if you split and want to add a title or Photo of the area you split. Next is Split.

58 Why Split? One reason is to add other things between the split, like Title. Or, add a Photo between the split. Or, add a caption on one of the video that is split. If you do two splits, you can remove part of the video. Or, mute music on one that is split and add other music. Next is how to Split.

59 First click the right outside the video, like we did before it starts to play and you see a Blue line moving to the right. I suggest you click on pause.

60 Once you click on pause, it stops playing. The reason for that is you can play again and do pause again on where you want to split. Next, click on Play and then click on pause where you want to split, which is next.

61 Here is a sample of the place that I did pause. You then click on this icon on the blue line. Once you click on it, it splits, which is next.

62 Once you click on it, you see the split and it automatically starts to play again. You may want to do pause again. Next is add a Transitional Effects.

63 Add Transition Effects? Transition Effects starts at the beginning. To add another Transition Effect, you have to Split again. Next, is a Transition Effect sample.

64 It has 2 seconds. You can increase, like I showed you in Title. Next is add Photo.

65 Add Photo(s) You can add a Photo before the Video, after the Video, or Split and add in the middle. Next is a sample.

66 It starts to play and you see that the Transition Effect is now on the Photo. This is the end of the Features that I am going to show you. Next is a sample of the Video.

67 I added 3 captions. I muted the music on the video and also added different music. I also removed part of the video. Here is a Sample of what it looks like. Next is other Edit Video Option.

68 You have another option to Edit Video with Movie Maker. Note - Microsoft will no longer support Movie Maker in January 10, 2017 and at that time you can't download Windows Essentials. If you have Movie Maker before January 10, 2017, you can use it, but there may be some problems. That is why you may want to use YouTube. I tried some Apps on Windows 10 about edit video(s) and I didn t like them as much as YouTube.

69 I am doing a Movie Maker Alternatives presentation at VCC in April. For example, PowerPoint. PowerPoint has similar features to Movie Maker and YouTube.
