1 LEDstuff.co.nz 4 Channel DMX Driver Instruction Manual Quality LED Lighting Products The LEDstuff 4 Channel DMX Driver is a flexible module that is an ideal addition to an existing home automation or lighting control system. It has 4 outputs capable of dimming 4 seperate channels or for controlling RGB or RGBW products. As shown below, simply add the values together that are below the switches that are on to get the address value. Switches 1 to 9 are used for setting the DMX address while switch 10 is used for the alternative functions detailed below. For example, the following DIP switch settings result in the specified DMX addresses: DIP Switch Setting DMX Address DIP Switch Setting DMX Address

2 Alternative Functions: By setting DIP switch 10 in the on position as shown below a range of alternative functions can be selected according to the table below. Functions include built in automatic functions as well as alternative modes of operation. In this mode the address is used to select the function. 3 DMX Interface: The DMX signal connects via the 8 pin RJ45 modular connectors. The pin connections are as follows: 1. Data + 2. Data V Power 5. N/C Ground 8. Ground Wiring: Please ensure power is turned off when attempting any wiring work. The 4 Channel DMX Driver can be used for several different types of products, such as LED strip, in ground lights, wall lights etc. Up to 4 separate banks of lighting can be controlled from 4 addresses by wiring them as follows: 1. Wire the DC power supply output into the GND negative and VIN positive terminals. 2. Wire one or more outputs to the load (such as LED Strip, Modules etc), ensuring correct polarity. The outputs share a common positive terminal, VOUT. 3. Wire the power supply to the mains according to its installation instructions.

5 Troubleshooting: No Channel Output: Turn off the power and check that the power supply is correctly wired on both the 230V side and the 12V side. Double check that the power is wired in the correct polarity with + going to VIN and going to GND. Turn the power on and, using a multimeter on the DC voltage setting, check that DC power measured across the VIN and GND terminals is either 12V DC or 24V DC depending on your power supply rating. No DMX Control: It is assumed that the alternative functions are working. If not, please see No Channel Output above. Turn off the power and check the DIP switch setting that switch 10 is in the off position and that the address on switches 1 to 9 give the correct address that is to be controlled. Check the DMX cabling from the DMX control equipment for breaks or loose connections and check if any other DMX controlled items are working. Output Does Not Change: Check that the alternative functions are not turned on by checking that DIP switch 10 is in the off position (See the Alternative Functions section). If the output still does not change turn power off for at least 10 seconds and then back on again, and see No DMX Control above.
