6 RESEARCH GOALS How much video content are people watching and sharing on mobile? How do people watch and share video content on mobile? What s frustrating about watching and sharing video content on mobile?
7 USER INTERVIEWS I m constantly watching videos on my phone on Tumblr, Instagram, and YouTube. For some reason I m never able to trim in editing apps. I d like to be able to select a very specific part of a video. I don t have Instagram, but use videos/photos on social media to promote my personal film work. Conley,28 Cole,25 I HATE turning my phone sideways to watch videos. I d rather die. Jim,26 I rarely watch videos over 1 minute long. 8 USER INTERVIEWS I watch video content on my phone! I like making videos, but I don t have a lot of time. I haven t found an editing app I like enough to use consistently.
9 PROBLEM STATEMENT People need a way to easily edit and view videos on their phone, because that is where they watch the majority of video content.
10 HYPOTHESIS I believe that if tech-conscious groups and creative professionals have a way to easily edit video on mobile, they will create more engaging content that audiences (and friends!) want to watch.

EASE OF MAINTAINING A RELATIONSHIP PRICING STRUCTURE Easy. Free service with lots of existing users and incentive to revisit the app to communicate and share with friends. Free Other users are your contacts. Easy to share through text or with export button. Not sure if group message is possible. Easy enough, free service. Feels isolated. I would visit the app with the intent of creating a video, no browsing option like Instagram. Free Can create a profile and share / save GIFs. Easy. Free service. Offers extensions like GIPHY keyboard and GIFCam. Free Newer features like direct messages groups makes communication even easier. Stories is just one element of the larger app. Fairly intuitive. Mobile app More editing options than Insta. Not sure if you are able to record vertical video could be fixed frame. Feels like an Apple product, black backdrop with simple white iconography for tools. Feels more mature than Instagram. Less sticker/gif options than Insta and updated less often. Website Mobile app Easy to use. Huge amount of content to search through. Neon and retro with black backdrop. A bit like Clips meets Instagram. Youthful, modern, and of the internet.
