3 New and Existing Applicants New DAF Applicant If you wish to submit a new application and are new to this process, you will need to create a user account to access the application form. Instructions are provided in section 2 to assist you in creating an account and accessing the application form. Existing DAF Applicant If you already have a DAF user account, please log into the DAF Portal here to access the application form. Please see section 2 for further details on how to reset your password and how to create your application form. Please use the browser Internet Explorer to complete this form as this is the supported browser. Using other browsers will compromise the functionality and performance of the form contents. Important Information Applications must be made using the online application form, accessed through the Dormant Accounts Fund (DAF) Programme page here. To access the DAF Application and Measure Guidelines, please check here. Please ensure your organisation and project proposal meets the measure specific criteria outlined. Some of your responses to application questions may result in the system displaying a message that your application is ineligible. Please see example below. Be vigilant of these messages, as you will not be prevented from continuing to complete the application form. Your application however will not be considered for funding as it will be deemed ineligible 3

The DAF Programme page also includes additional useful information on the Dormant Accounts Fund and has a link to the DAF Portal. For more information on how to login to the DAF Portal, create an account or create an application form see section 2 of this guide. It is important that you regularly SAVE your work to prevent any loss of information during the completion of your online application. For any assistance, please see below. 4

5 Section 1 - Hints and Tips for completing the application form Some useful hints and tips for using our online application system: Use the browser Internet Explorer to complete this form. This is the supported browser Save your work frequently while you are completing your online application form. This application form will time out after 20 minutes of inactivity so saving frequently will prevent any loss of data or information. All fields in every section must be completed. If there is a mandatory field that is not applicable to you, please enter n/a or if the field requires a number, please enter zero (0). Yes/No Radio buttons are usually mandatory. You must select Yes or No. All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed. A dashed red line represents that there is an error in that field. The above validation errors will be detected when you try to submit form and must be corrected prior to submission. Some questions have a dropdown menu with an option for you to select. Failure to select an option from the dropdown menu will prevent you submitting your application. 5

6 Date picker: You can select the date from the calendar provided in the field by clicking on symbol shown below. You can hover your mouse over a blank field to see the rules associated with this particular field. Only integers allowed or Only numbers allowed means the field only accepts numeric values please note that spaces or dashes are not numeric values and if entered will cause a validation error. This often occurs in the following fields: Eircode, Main Phone or Mobile Phone numbers. 6

7 Character limits The space given in each field of the form is limited to a fixed number of characters. Spaces and lines are counted towards character limits. The number available in each field is provided for your convenience. If the character limit is exceeded, the below error will appear. This can occur where sections of text are pasted into the application form. If applicable, you can download a number of specific templates from within the form. You must fully complete these templates and attach them to your application as required. Please save the templates to your own pc/laptop and rename before attaching. The application form will prompt you when each template is required. If the attachment is mandatory it will be denoted by red asterisk (*). Please complete, sign, scan and attach the relevant templates (e.g.) a budget template Further information on attaching a document can be found in section 3. Each form has a Quick Navigation" tool at the top of each section use the drop down menu to select and click Go to navigate to the section desired. At the end of each section there are navigation buttons to allow you to 7

8 Previous use this command to return to the previous section. Next use this command to move onto the next section. Save as draft we recommend you frequently use this command to save your data. Please note it will exit the application form each time. Exit without saving Use this command to exit the form without saving any changes. Once an application has been submitted online the form cannot be edited. Please ensure that all relevant information is included and attached to the online application form. We cannot accept any additional information or submissions via or hardcopy. Your application must meet the specific criteria outlined in the DAF Application and Measure Guidelines. 8

9 Section 2 - Logging onto the system Log onto our website at and click on the Portals heading at the top right of the page as shown below. On the Portals page, please select DAF Portal under the Social Inclusion and Equality heading as shown below. 9

10 If you already have a DAF account, please enter your and password and click the Sign In button. If you do not have an existing DAF account, you will need to click on the Register button to create an account. To set up a new online account you will be required to complete the New Account Sign Up window as shown in the screenshot below. Enter your name and address in the relevant fields and then enter your password. When creating your password ensure that you follow the instructions shown. 10

11 You can view the text that you are typing in the password field by clicking on the icon indicated in the screenshot below. Once you have read our Acceptable Use & Privacy Statement tick to confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions and then tick the I m not a robot verification option. The following sample screen will open for completion. Tick all of the images requested and then click the Verify button and click the Register button to generate your account. An automatic response will be generated by the system to notify you that your account has been successfully created. 11

12 If after 5 minutes you have not received the notification please check your Spam or Junk folders. Forgot Your Password In the event that you forget your password please enter your address and follow the I m not a robot verification process. 12

13 You will receive the following notification informing you that the link to reset your password has been sent to your account. If you do not receive the notification please check your Spam or Junk folders. The will contain a URL hyperlink and instructions on how to reset your password. Once you have clicked on the URL hyperlink you will be directed to complete the following window. Enter your new password and confirm same in the relevant field and click the OK button to process. For security reasons, the system will automatically lock you out of your account in the event that you enter the incorrect password more than 4 times during the sign in process. 13

14 Should this occur you will receive the following notification. You will need to contact our Online Support Team for technical assistance as you will be unable to access the system until we unlock your account. Creating an Application Form Once you have successfully logged into your account you will be directed to the home page of the Dormant Accounts Fund from where you can begin your application process 14

15 In the navigation panel on the left hand side of the screen under the heading DAF 2018 click on the Application M1_M2 option and then click on the Add document icon. Section 3 - Attaching a document To attach a document simply hover your mouse cursor over the click here to attach file tab (below). A blue paperclip icon will appear to the left of this section. Click on Attach and you will then be directed to locate the file that you wish to upload. Click Browse to locate the file on your computer/laptop and double click on it or click the open tab to upload the attachment. 15

16 You can attach an additional document by selecting the Click here to attach a file again and you will see the multiple documents as per below. Please ensure that each attachment has a unique name to avoid any issues when adding multiple documents. If you attach two documents with the same name, you will receive the below error. In order to rectify this error, you will need to remove the second document (highlighted in dashed red line).to remove the document, you will need to click on the paperclip symbol to open the options available. You will be given 3 options to choose from and in this case, please click Remove. A message will pop up as per below. Please click ok. 16

17 This will remove the second file. Please note at this stage you will need to exit the form by clicking on Saving as Draft to ensure that the duplicate document has been removed from the background of the form. If you have added a document that has a unique name, you can remove to by using the X option. This option does not work for documents sharing the same document name. Section 4 - Inserting/ removing in a table (e.g.) Board Members To add additional text boxes, select the Insert Item icon. 17

18 To insert before/ after or to remove an item, hover your mouse to the left of the item where a grey arrow will appear, click on this to open the command menu. The command menu is a blue down arrow that appears on the left where you can then select your preference. Section 5 - Submitting Your Application Before submitting your application to us, please ensure that you have successfully completed your application form check that all of the mandatory fields are completed and that you have attached all of the necessary documentation in the relevant fields. Please also ensure that you have read and fully understood the terms and conditions contained in the Disclaimer section. If the system detects that there are some validation issues, you will be notified of these and asked to review the sections containing the errors or validation issues to resolve, before the system will allow you to submit your application to us. 18

19 Click on the Review button to open the section containing the error and take the necessary actions to resolve the outstanding issues [e.g. you may have omitted to complete a mandatory field or failed to correctly attach a document]. Once all of the outstanding validation issues have been successfully resolved the following submission window will open for completion. 19

20 Enter the name of the person in your organisation who is submitting the form on behalf of the Board of Directors/Management Committee. Enter the position held by the Board Member/Management Committee member. Before clicking the Submit Application button you are advised to take this final opportunity to familiarise yourself with our Acceptable Use and Privacy Statement. You can find Pobal s Privacy Policy here. Once you are satisfied that all of the information provided is correct and you agree with the terms and conditions relating to this online application process, please click the Submit Application button. 20

21 Please note the address entered under Section 3 Primary Contact Information will receive confirmation that the application has been successfully submitted. At any stage of the application process you can choose to Download a Copy to your computer or print the application, by clicking on Print Preview, as below 21
