Chapter 1 Getting Started Welcome to the Quantum Subscriber Services Portal (SSP) 2.9 Interface Guide for Managers for Cisco Quantum Policy Suite. This document describes tasks performed in the interface and helps managers to use and operate their subscriber portal interface. Audience This guide is best used by the Manager administrative role. Manager users Vouchers Voucher batches concepts Location management Login behaviors Prerequisites To configure your Quantum SSP, have a working QPS system in place. All configuration tasks are based on this prerequisite. What Quantum SSP Software Is The Cisco Quantum Subscriber Services Portal lets you create customized web pages for your subscribers to log in and access your network. Subscribers can log in to your URL with a voucher, username and password, or a registered MAC address. As a voucher system, Quantum SSP can generate vouchers and voucher groups automatically. Quantum SSP provides two perspectives to your subscriber network: Custom login pages and behavior to your subscribers Custom administrative pages for use by the various administrative users Interface Guide for Managers May 2013 Chapter 1 Getting Started 5

Install and Log Ins The Quantum SSP software is installed when you install the Quantum Policy Suite. There is no separate installation process. The Quantum SSP virtual machine runs on portalxx on the Quantum Policy Suite Control Center. To view your subscriber s page, use this URL in a browser: Replace with the IP address of the sslvip01 from /etc/host To access the Admin screens as any role, open a browser and use this URL: replace with the IP address of lbvip01 from /etc/host Authentication Options Currently Quantum Subscriber Services Portal 2.9 supports LDAP authentication. Other methods are available in the future. LDAP Authentication Your Cisco technical representative can configure the Quantum SSP to use LDAP authentication at installation time. When Quantum SSP is configured to use LDAP authentication: Admin users can log in with LDAP/Active Directory credentials. Portal authorization works only with one type (LDAP or database) it cannot use both. When Quantum SSP uses LDAP authentication, the only available user role is admin. Frontdesk and manager roles are not available. This means that under LDAP authentication, only admin users can log in to Quantum SSP and that user administration (that is, adding, editing, and deleting users) is disabled. These disabled features are managed under LDAP itself. Interface Guide for Managers May 2013 Getting Started 6

Roles and Logins This version of Quantum SSP provides three levels of login permissions for administrators: Admin Admin level users are service provider admin staff and can configure sets of locations or sets of portals. Admin level users have full privileges and can perform all tasks. Admin users have access to all locations. Admins can also check and review configuration settings for troubleshooting purposes. Manager Site managers are responsible for specific locations. Manager-level users can manage locations, and perform voucher, and voucher batch tasks. Managers can be associated with several locations. Frontdesk Location or site employee work with vouchers. Frontdesk-level users can be associated with several locations. Note: Note: Note: Admin users are either Admin, Manager, or Frontdesk. In this document, the end users of your interface are called subscribers. Note: In this document, to help lessen confusion what the admin roles view are called screens. What the subscriber look at after they start a session are termed pages. What s New In this version of, these new features are available: Update procedure from 2.6 to 2.9. Location wizard for creating a new location. More options on how to display the date and time on the subscriber pages. Ability to use letter case in evaluating access codes. Graphical display of the relationship and content of subscriber pages at Locations > Pages tab. Revised layout of screen at Settings > Configuration Check. Locations that use SDD now have max devices and allow upgrade settings. Interface Guide for Managers May 2013 Getting Started 7

Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations A location is the URL location that subscribers log in to. You may know it as a landing page, or portal, or subscriber URL. Both the Admin and Manager roles have permission to work with locations. Admin users have access to all locations. Managers and Frontdesk users access only the locations specified by their administrative profile. Location Types Locations Also see Tutorial: Building a Hospitality Portal Page or use the Location Wizard described at Create a Location with the Wizard for examples of how to set up locations. Location Types Location types let you assign a text string to a location that are used later for reporting and tracking. Creating and Editing Location Types Locations > Location Types > New Location Type Locations > Location Types > select a location > Edit Location types are a way for you to generally categorize the various locations you work with. Consisting of just a title, the title is used for sorting and reporting later. Deleting a Location Type Locations > Location Types > select a location > Delete If you find that you no longer need to report on a particular location type, you can remove it. Locations Locations are a URL that a subscriber logs in to. Locations have a location type and are assigned a skin. Contact information for people physically located at a site can be added. Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 8

A location can be marked as the default, which means it displays with no other stipulation needed. Locations specify subscriber behaviors that determine what you want the subscriber to do when they log in, perhaps accept terms, enter a PIN number, or redirect them to another page. Skins are managed by the admin role with a variety of tools, such as pages, templates, blocks, and widgets to affect the way the skin is rendered. Pages in a location use templates. Locations are assigned to managers and front desk level users. That is, these two roles can only access the locations they are assigned by the admin. Voucher batches, and the vouchers generated under the batch, are associated with a location. A location can be copied, and then changed, to create another, similar location. Creating and Editing Locations Location Hierarchy Listing Locations Editing Locations Copying a Location Deleting Locations Creating and Editing Locations Location Hierarchy About Locations Locations, the URL that your subscriber log in to, are defined by these things: General information in the Overview tab The page s Style or skins, for both mobile and computer devices The subscriber Behaviors you want to evoke at log in. 10 The Messages to display to the subscriber Network mappings Contact information for your people connected with the location Vouchers, voucher batches and voucher generations Files, probably graphic files, that contribute to the location page Pages contain... Templates that use blocks to layout a page. Blocks contain... Widgets that contain snippets of code for common activities. Creating a New Location with the Wizard Locations > List All Locations > New Location Quantum SSP has a wizard to help create locations correctly. To use this wizard, see Chapter 10 Tutorial: Building a Hospitality Portal Page. Tip: Tip: Before creating a new location, have the proper location type already defined. See Location Types. When you first create a location, fill in only the fields in the Overview tab. After this, select your new location from the list and make changes to fields under the remaining tabs, Style, Behavior, Network and the others. Listing Locations Locations > List All Locations This list shows all the locations configured. As Admin, you can edit, copy, or delete a location from here. Sort the list by clicking on the column headings Title or Type. Editing Locations Locations > List All Locations > Edit > Overview After this, select your ne w location from the list and make changes to fields under the remaining tabs, Style, Behavior, Network and the others. 15 SDD JAZZ Integration For locations that use SDD, JAZZ integration must first be enabled in qps.config file. Then you can enable Max Devices and Allow Upgrade settings. Subscribers Tab Locations > location name > Edit > Subscribers Registration Fields Area The Registration Fields area helps manage the subscriber page by using predefined labels that you turn on or off. You can specify as much or as little subscriber login information as needed. In the Registration Fields area, you can affect the form fields this way: Show or hide fields with an Off option in the drop-down list. Label the field as required or optional In addition, special cases are available for these fields: First Name Last Name Single Contact Number The label for the field where the subscriber enters his first name. These radio buttons specify the label next to the field on the subscriber-facing screen. You can have the screen display the label First Name or Given name, whichever you prefer. The label for the field where the subscriber enters his last name. These radio buttons specify the label next to the field. You can have the screen display the label Last Name or Surname. For a telephone number specifically for the subscriber, label the field as required, optional, or just don t display the field. The drop-down list to the right lets your display the Single Contact Number with the labels Home, Mobile, Work, or Other. Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 15

Messages Tab User (Subscriber) Address Fields Area The user address fields lets you require, make optional, or not ask for subscriber address information at login time. User (Subscriber) Password Fields Area With this choice, you strictly specify the strength of the password used at your location. That is, you can set a minimum and maximum password length, or require or disallow certain characters. You can map error messages and error codes that come from QPS and create custom error messages. In so doing, you create translations of sometimes cryptic QPS error messages and codes into friendlier, human-understandable messages on your subscriber page. Network Tab To create such a translation, do the following: 1. Click the Add New Message button. 2. In the QNS Call drop-down, select the QPS API call for which you want to create your custom message. To create a message that applies to any QPS call, select All QNS Calls. 3. In the Match Type drop-down list, select how closely you want the message to match QPS calls: error code is matches the QPS error code verbatim. message is matches the QPS error message verbatim. message includes matches any QPS error message that includes the string you specify in step 4. message does not include matches any QPS error message that does not include the string you specify in step 4. message regular expression matches any QPS error message that includes the regular expression you specify in step In the Match Text box, enter the error code, error message, part of the error message, or regular expression that your selection in step 3 references. 5. In the Message Text box, enter the text of the human-understandable message that you want to display to the subscriber. 6. Click the Add New Message button. The portal creates the message and the Success message appears in the top-right corner. Locations > List Locations >select a location > Edit > Network Network mapping values let you specify a network mapping rule to map a subscriber s network information settings. Network mapping values can be of these formats: Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 16

Note: WARNING: Framed IP NAS IP SSID Access point MAC (AP MAC) Generic Note: The network mapping value you enter here must be of the same type or format of the location s domain. That is, if your location uses a domain that uses a framed IP, select a framed IP mapping here. Troubleshooting Tip: Duplicate network mappings among your locations produce unreliable results. That is, duplicates, either logical or physical, cause mapping inconsistencies. Contacts Tab Vouchers Tab Files Tab Blocks Tab Locations > List All Locations >select a location and Edit > Contacts This screen lets you keep track of the contact information for people physically located at a location or venue. For example, if you have a subscriber page for a hotel, you might put the name of an IT person that works at the hotel. Create New Voucher Batch It is useful to use the Locations > Voucher tab click path found here, but specific details about vouchers are found under the Vouchers menu in Chapter 3 Voucher Batches. Generate Vouchers for a Voucher Batch It is handy to use the Locations > Voucher tab click path, but specific details about vouchers are located under the Voucher Batches menu in Chapter 4 Vouchers. The Files tab lets you upload previously created content into your page, most usually graphics files. Use the Browse button to find the needed file. Assign a name for the file, one that is convenient to remember. You must have both these fields completed before you click Upload File. The blocks on your subscriber page use widgets that perform commonly used tasks, such as requesting an access code, or requesting information about account management. The Blocks tab simplifies creating a location page by managing the elements of that page, such as headers, footers, standard terms, help, or security information. Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 17

Pages Tab You can copy a block that has been previously developed, or make your own. The Edit Block form appears for you to further customize. Blocks have these elements: Title A friendly name for the block. This title is never displayed to the subscriber. Widget Predefined actions used to present various elements of the location s page. Locations > select a location > Edit > Pages The Pages tab shows a graphical picture as a tree that shows how the subscriber pages are related. Each page node" has a View and an Edit button to allow for checking and changed the subscriber page chosen from the tree. Note: Note: Blocks must be created previously. From here you can edit, copy or delete a location. Copying a Location Locations > List All Locations > select a location > Copy You can copy one location and rename it as a new location. This saves time, you don have to start with empty fields. This is also a good way to save iterative versions of a location for testing. Click Copy and confirm your choice. In the Overview tab for the new, copied location, be sure to change the text in the Title field. Go on to change all the other fields as well, working your way through all the tabs on the left. Deleting Locations Locations > List All Locations > select a location > Delete If a location is closed, or used for trial or temporary purposes, you can delete it. Things like the voucher batch and voucher information become inaccessible, but are not truly deleted. You can recover your deleted location s information, but you will need help from your BroadHop technical representative. Filtering Locations Locations > List Locations > Filter Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 18

If your enterprise has a lot of locations to manage, you can find specific ones with the Filter link at the top of the List Locations page. You can search for a location based on this information about the voucher: Location title Location type Behavior used on the location page, for example, One Click, No Click. For more tips and information on how to filter, see Chapter 5 Filtering Tasks. Interface Guide for Administrators May 2013 Chapter 2 Location Types and Locations 19

Chapter 3 Voucher Batches Voucher and Voucher Batch Hierarchy These topics help you use voucher batches: Listing Voucher Batches at Your Location Voucher Batches menu This click path displays a list of all the voucher batches created for your location.s Click on the a column heading and your batches sort on that column. Viewing the Details of a Voucher Batch Voucher batch information you might find helpful includes: Code mask, pin mask Service provided to the subscriber Batch create and modify information Duration, volume, and expiration date of the batch Voucher Batches > select a batch > View The bottom of the screen shows the date and creator of the voucher batch children, or generation, that is, what generated vouchers have been added to this overall voucher batch. Click View on this screen to see the vouchers in a generation. Viewing the Vouchers in a Voucher Batch You can see if any vouchers have been created for this voucher batch. Then, you can see what the voucher codes and the PIN numbers are. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 3 Voucher Batches 20

Voucher Batches > select a batch > View > select a Generation > View Information on specific vouchers is listed on the bottom. You may print this information if you like. Printing the Vouchers in a Voucher Batch Voucher Batches > select a batch > View > select a Generation > View > Print Information on specific vouchers is listed on the bottom. You may print this information if you like. Deleting a Voucher Batch Old or temporary voucher batches can be deleted, but you will need help from your Cisco technical representative. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 3 Voucher Batches 21

Chapter 4 Vouchers Voucher and Voucher Batch Hierarchy This section helps with voucher tasks. Vouchers are individual login codes created under a voucher batch and use the voucher batch as a template. That is, how you define the voucher batch creates a basis for all vouchers within it. Voucher Generations Under a voucher batch you may generate one or many vouchers at different times. These instances are called voucher generations. Voucher generations occur under a voucher batch template, but show different created dates. And, the vouchers in one generation can have different durations from other voucher generations. Viewing and Printing a Voucher Generation Vouchers Batches > select a voucher batch > VIew select a generation and View You can see information about the voucher generation within a voucher batch. Most of the screen shows the voucher batch template information. Then, you can see the voucher codes within a generation, the PINs, expiration date and active status. To print selected vouchers see Viewing and Printing Vouchers. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 4 Vouchers 22

Vouchers Under a voucher batch you may generate one or many vouchers at different times. Vouchers are what the subscriber uses to log in to a voucher-authorized page. Voucher generations contain individual vouchers and occur under a voucher batch template, but show different created dates and can have different durations. Finding a Specific Voucher Viewing and Printing Vouchers Finding a Specific Voucher Vouchers > Filter link > set your filter criteria > Apply Filter > View You can search for a single voucher based on this information about the voucher: See Filtering Voucher Batches for greater details about filtering. Viewing and Printing Vouchers Vouchers > Filter criteria > Apply Filter > and then View or Print > Print This Voucher. When you view and print vouchers, you can check the status of a voucher, who created it, and other details. After generating a voucher, you can print it immediately with View > Print. When viewing vouchers, you can find the following information: Voucher batch name and information, including: Code mask Created By Date Created Duration Expiration Date Last Modified Maximum number of sessions allowed Modified by whom PIN mask Service Volume Voucher information: Active or inactive status Batch it belongs to Created By Maximum number of sessions allowed Service, if there is one Start Date Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 4 Vouchers 23

Date created Duration, or Maximum time allowed Expiration date Internal SSP ID Location the voucher belongs to Status of the voucher Subscriber ID, if there is one Unique voucher code Unique voucher pin Volume of data permitted Printing Vouchers To print one voucher at a time: View the voucher you want to print. See Filtering Voucher Batches if you need help with setting a filter. Voucher Batches > Select a batch > View > Select a batch generation > View > Find the specific voucher > Print Use your browser's dialog box to finish the print task. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 4 Vouchers 24

Chapter 5 Filtering Tasks In Quantum SSP, you can filter locations, vouchers, and log items depending on your admin role. For these three types of data, the Filter link is found in the upper left corner, next to the vertical tabs or buttons. These sections discuss specific filtering tasks: General Filtering Filtering Locations Filtering QPS Log Items Filtering Voucher Batches General Filtering If no filter criteria are set, the Filter link reads Filter is not active. When using a filter, note the criteria named by the Filter link. Defining a Filter Different lists, locations or vouchers for example, have different filtering attributes, but they all work the same way. If you have a drop-down list, scroll within it and click an item you want to filter on. If you have a drop-down list, select several from the list with the Ctrl key. Type as much information as you know into the fields displayed. For example, if you know that a session ID has the letter q in it, enter that as a filter criteria and it will display in the list if it is found anywhere in the session ID. You can filter on an attribute even if it is not displayed as a column in the list at the bottom of the screen. For example, although Session ID is not a heading in the list, you can still enter search criteria in the session id field. The find list will be correct, even though the search criteria is not displayed on the screen. Click the Apply Filter button to generate a filtered list. Scroll down again to see the filtered list. Exporting the Results of a Filter You can export a filtered list of Vouchers, but not locations or log items. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 5 Filtering Tasks 25

Select from the check boxes below the fields at the top portion of the filter screen. This sets the columns that will be included in your exported list. Click Export Results and use the browser s dialog windows to finish this task. Tip: Tip: Best practice is to review the results of your filter with Apply Filter, then perform the same filter again, but click Export Results. Removing a Filter Click the Remove Filter button at the bottom of the screen. To remove a filter attribute one by one, scroll down the page and adjust the information in the fields and drop-down lists. One way to remove a filter is to click on the blue X in the text next to the Filter link: This removes all filters previously specified. Filtering Locations Locations > List Locations > Filter If your enterprise has a lot of locations to manage, you can find specific ones with the Filter link at the top of the List Locations page. You can search for a location based on this information about the voucher: Location title Location type Behavior used on the location page, for example, One Click, No Click. Click Apply Filter when your search criteria is complete. Now you can go on to edit a location, copy a location, or delete a location. Filtering QPS Log Items To filter on a date, select a date type from the drop down list: Start date Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 5 Filtering Tasks 26

End date Expiration date and then enter a date range: Date start Date end Filtering Voucher Batches You can search for a single voucher based on this information about the voucher: Location Active status Voucher Code Service code Maximum number of sessions To filter on a date, select a date type from the drop down list: Start date End date Expiration date and then enter a date range: Date start Date end You can export specific information about the voucher by selecting from the check boxes. Then click Export Results and use the browser s dialog windows to finish this task. Interface Guide for Front Desk May 2013 Chapter 5 Filtering Tasks 27
