4 How do I access my account? Using the telephone: 1. Call your unumber. 2. Press [#]. 3. Enter your PIN (for phone log in). 4. Press [#]. The first time you access your account, you may want to record your personal greeting. To do this, press [6], then [2] at the Main Menu. Using the web: 1. Go to 2. At the Sign In screen enter your Username. 3. Enter your Password (for web log in). Using a wireless device: RIM Wireless Handheld Device (Blackberry). 1. Subscribe to the Go.Web service: download the browser and all user documentation from the website. 2. Once you have Go.Web service, you can point the Go.Web browser to ureach.com, or set up MyGo.Web to include ureach.com. 3. Login with your username and PIN. Palm VII or VIIx organizer (or comparable device) 1. Go to the online help and save the ureach.pqa file to disk, run the install tool and hotsync your Palm Organizer. 2. Start ureach.com on your Palm by clicking the ureach.com icon. 3. Login with your username and PIN. 4

5 How do I send messages from my account? To send an from your account: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Message Center on the left navigation bar. 3. Click Compose on the navigation bar. 4. Address your message recipients using To: field and begin entering your message subject and body. You may attach files, use additional options, save a copy of the message, etc. on this page. To send a fax from your account: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Message Center on the left navigation bar. 3. Click Compose fax on the navigation bar. 4. Enter the 10-digit fax number in the Fax numbers box for National calls. To send a fax to an International destination, enter the number as: +, country code, city code, local number. 5. Select a cover page and fill in the appropriate fields. 6. Click Upload Documents to select documents to fax. 7. Click Send. How do I filter messages sent to my account? To filter messages as they are delivered to your account: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Message Center on the left navigation bar. 3. Open the message for which you would like to set up a filter. 4. Click on the Auto File link next to the From name. 5. Select a folder from your Filing Cabinet or create a new folder to file future messages in from this sender. 6. Click OK. 7. To edit your filter, go to Message Center. 8. Click Options on the navigation bar. 9. Click on Filters to display and manage all of your filters. 5

6 How do I receive calls on my unumber? Establishing a ureachme number over the telephone: 1. Access your unumber. 2. Press [5]. 3. To send your calls to one number, press [2]. 4. Enter the 10-digit number. If you are entering an International number, enter it as: 011, country code, city code, local number. If you want to establish more than one forwarding destination, go to your uconnect account. Click on unumber on the left navigation bar, and then click on ureachme. Create a schedule to forward to multiple destinations. Enabling / Disabling a ureachme number over the telephone: 1. To forward calls based on the defined schedule, press [1]. 2. To disable the ureachme feature, press [3]. Establishing ureachme numbers and schedule over the web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click the unumber button on the left Navigation bar. 3. Click ureachme to enter setup start page. 4. Select your forwarding method - either one number or multiple numbers. You cannot enter International Numbers in the ureachme wizard. Once you create your first schedule, you will create a phone numbers list. This list will allow you to enter International Numbers as: 011, country code, city code, local number. 5. If you chose Multiple numbers: on the ureachme Options page select whether you want to have all phone numbers dialed simultaneously or in sequence. 6. The Sequential and Simultaneous Ringing Schedule page lists various time periods (Weekdays, Weekday Evenings, Saturday, 6

7 Sunday, All other times) during which you can choose whether or not to forward your calls to the numbers you entered. Selecting days and time periods will create your schedule. Ringing all phones simultaneously may shorten the wait for callers who are trying to get in touch with you. Enabling/Disabling a ureachme number over the web: To Enable a ureachme number: 1. Go to ureachme setup. 2. Click in the field Forward calls to One Number. 3. Enter the number you would like to forward calls to. To Disable a ureachme number: 1. Go to ureachme. 2. Click Do not forward calls. 7

8 Accepting a phone call Using the telephone: 1. To accept the call, press [1]. 2. To send the call to voic , press [2]. 3. To decline the call, press [7]. NOTE: If you choose [2], ureach will call the next number defined in your schedule. If we are unable to reach you or there are no more numbers defined, we will send the call to voic . If you choose [7], we will send the call directly to voic . NOTE: If you have an International Inbound unumber and receive a call from an international destination, ureach will speak an additional prompt in your whisper with the current rate of calls from that country. Anytime you press [1] to connect the call, you can press Star Star (**) to put the call on hold. We can screen your calls for you! You may choose from four whisper options. If you choose [2] or [7], the caller will assume you were unavailable. 8

9 How do I review messages? Using the telephone: 1. Access your unumber. 2. To access your Message Center, press [1]. Press [1] to hear new messages. Press [2] to hear new and unread messages. Press [3] to hear read messages. You can skip a message by pressing [3] during message review. When you delete a message it is filed in your Trash Folder. For your convenience, your Trash Folder will be automatically deleted every 7 days. Using the web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Message Center on the left navigation bar. 3. Messages will be displayed in your Inbox. Using a wireless device: 1. Point your browser to ureach.com. 2. Login with your username and PIN. 3. Click New Messages. 4. Click Message Center for All Messages. 9

10 How do I place telephone calls? Using the telephone: 1. Access your unumber. 2. To Place-a-call, press [4]. 3. Enter 10-digit number, then press [#]. If you are entering an International number, enter it as: 011, country code, city code, local number. Using Speed Dial Numbers: 1. Access your unumber. 2. To listen to a list of your Speed Dial Numbers and ID s, press [**]. 3. Press the Speed Dial Number to dial or press 0 to dial a different number. To create Speed Dial numbers, login to your uconnect account. Go to unumber and click on Speed Dial Numbers on the navigation bar. Fill in the Description and Phone Number fields. Using the Address Book: 1. Access your unumber. 2. To access the Address Book, press [2]. 3. Enter the nickname of the person you would like to call. 4. Follow the prompts to call your recipient s home, office, or cell phone. 10

11 How do I access my Address Book? Using the telephone: 1. Access your unumber. 2. For Address Book, press [2]. 3. Enter the contact s nickname using your dial keypad. 4. When finished, press [#]. 5. Listen to the assistant for all options. For example, you may want to send the contact a voice message, call the contact at home, or listen to the contact s information such as address. Using the web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Address Book on the left navigation bar. 3. Contacts will be displayed alphabetically. 4. To create a contact, click Create contact on the left navigation bar. 5. Enter the name of a person or company and other information. 6. When you are done, click OK. Using a wireless device: 1. Point your browser to ureach.com. 2. Login with your username and PIN. 3. To open Address Book, press [6]. 4. Search contacts. 11

12 How do I use Contact Builder? Using the Web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Address Book on the left navigation bar. 3. Click Tools on the left navigation bar. 4. Click the Contact Builder link. 5. Select the type of messages and contacts for which you would like Contact Builder to search. 6. Mark the checkboxes next to the folders for which you would like Contact Builder to search and click Continue. 7. All senders that are not in your Address Book will be displayed. Mark the checkbox next to each sender you would like to add to your Address Book. 8. A new contact will be created for each sender. Click OK. How do I create a contact in my Address Book? Using the Web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Address Book on the left navigation bar. 3. Click Create Contact on the left navigation bar. 4. Enter the required (and optional) information that you would like associated with your new contact. 5. Click OK to save your entry. How do I add contacts from another Address Book to my ureach Address Book? Using the Web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Address Book on the left navigation bar. 3. Click Tools on the left navigation bar. 4. Click on the Sync with your PDA or Import and Export Contacts links to begin adding contacts from another Address Book. 5. Follow the instructions provided on the website. 12

13 How do I check my daily appointments? Using the telephone: 1. Access your unumber. 2. For Calendar, press [3]. 3. To listen to your To-do list, press [1]. 4. To listen to your Appointments, press [2]. Using the web: 1. Access your uconnect account. 2. Click Calendar on the left navigation bar. 3. Your To-do list and Appointments will show on the Calendar home page. Using a wireless device: 1. Point your browser to ureach.com. 2. Login with your username and PIN. 3. To open Calendar, press [7]. 4. You can view To-do s and Appointments or schedule new To-do s and Appointments. What are reminders? ureach can send uconnect Calendar reminders via pager, Instant Messaging (IM) software, and/or the phone on a specific date and time. Reminder s and phone calls can also be sent to others about events on your Calendar. You can conveniently setup reminders at the same time that you schedule an appointment. 13

14 How do I personalize or change my phone greetings? Using the telephone: Using the telephone, you have the option to listen to, record or change your greetings. You can record up to 2 personal greetings, a ureachme greeting, an extended absence greeting or you can use the system standard greeting. To record your first personal greeting, follow these steps: 1. Access your unumber Press [6] to administer your Account Press [2] to administer your Personal Greetings Press [1] to administer Personal Greeting #1 2. To listen to your greeting, press [1]. 3. To re-record your greeting, press [2]. 4. After the tone, record your new greeting (up to 1 minute long). 5. When finished, press [#]. Then choose from one of the following options: Press [1] to accept the greeting Press [2] to listen to the greeting Press [3] to re-record the greeting Press [*M] to return to the Main Menu 6. To administer other greetings, choose from the following options: Press [1] to administer your Personal Greeting #1 Press [2] to administer your Personal Greeting #2 Press [3] to administer your ureachme Greeting Press [4] to administer the System Standard Greeting Press [5] to administer your Extended Absence Greeting Note: When you activate the Extended Absence Greeting, your account will function in Answer only mode, which means that your callers cannot record voic or send faxes. 14

15 Using the web: Using the web, you have the option to listen to your greetings. 1. Click the unumber button on the left Navigation bar. 2. Click Options below it on the Navigation bar. 3. Under the Greeting played to caller heading, click listen next to the greeting you would like to hear. 4. At the file download screen, click on Open this file from its current location. You will hear your greeting through your PC. 15

16 Sample Greetings Greetings can be up to 1 minute in length. Sample Personal Greeting 1 Hi, I am away from my telephone at the moment. Please leave a message. Sample Personal Greeting 2 Hello, this is Julie. I am unable to answer your call at this time, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as possible. System Greeting Hello. You have reached a ureach Message Box. ureachme Greeting Hello, this is Julie. Please wait while the service tries to reach me. Extended Absence Greeting Hello, this is Julie. I will be out of the office until next Monday. Please call back then. Thank you. 16

17 How do I get notified of new messages? When new messages (including , voic and faxes) arrive in your account, you can be notified via a phone call, page, message or brief text message on your mobile phone. You can also receive an instant message from IM software (ICQ, AIM, MSN, or Yahoo). Using the web to establish your message alert settings: 1. Click Message Center on the left navigation bar. 2. Click Options. 3. Click Message Alert. 4. Mark the Enable Message Alert checkbox. 5. In the Notify via area, select how you would like to be notified (for example, pager). 6. In the Select messages area, mark the appropriate checkboxes (for example, select All ). 7. Click OK. Make sure that you have set up your pager, mobile phone or IM software for message alert on the web. To setup, go to My Account on the top, right section of your uconnect account screen. Then, click on the Setup Pager/IM client link. 17

18 How do I use uscreen? uscreen is ureach s own software client which provides desktop alert of new calls and messages to your account. There are two components to uscreen: Call Manager and Message Waiting Indicator (MWI). How does the Call Manager feature work? When a call is placed to your unumber, the uscreen Call Manager window will come to the front of your screen. The display will indicate the caller's location, the caller's number, the date and time. If the caller's number is in your ureach Address Book, the caller's name will be displayed instead of the location. You can also see the status of the call in the lower left corner of the uscreen display. You can forward your call to another number, listen in on the caller leaving a message and even interrupt to take the call. How does the Message Waiting Indicator work? When you receive a new , fax or voic message in your ureach account, a window will pop up with the sender/caller's name and the subject of the message. A running list of any other new messages will appear in the pop-up window below the most recent message. How do I setup uscreen? To download uscreen to your PC: 1. Access your umessage account. 2. Click on My Account in the upper right corner of the screen. 3. Click on the Downloads link and then click on uscreen. 4. Download the uscreen client to your PC and then follow the install instructions. 18

19 How do I use Voice Mode and Touch Tone Mode? To access Voice Mode: 1. Access your unumber. 2. Press [*V]. As an example of working in Voice Mode, to check new messages, you would: 1. Speak Message Center. 2. Speak New messages. 3. Listen to assistant for further options. Speak Touch Tone to access Touch Tone mode. For your convenience, download the uconnect Voice Mode and Touch Tone Desk References and Pocket Cards available from the unumber page in your web account. Print them for easy reference. To access Touch Tone Mode: 1. Access your unumber. 2. Listen to the touch tone menu prompts. As an example of working in Touch Tone Mode, to check new messages, you would: 1. Press [1] for Message Center. 2. Press [1] for New messages. 3. Listen to menu prompts for further options. 19
