3 BACKGROUND The 4Producers portal is a production company-facing web site that is modular and can grow over time. On the release, the following modules will be available: Registrations Ed Specs Proposal Tracking Over time additional modules may be added to the portal with minimal effort making available additional functionality available to all or targeted users who are registered with the site. To gain access to the external production companies have to request an account. This request is processed as a 4Producers registration request, vetted by internal Channel 4 staff and accepted or rejected. During this process correspondence may be sent back and forth between the production company and Channel 4. This document explains how the registration process works and who is responsible in key areas. Page 3 of 8

4 REQUESTING AN ACCOUNT All users who wish to access the 4Producers portal will be required to register first. Once they have been validated and registered they will be able to login. On clicking on a link available on the main channel4.com web site the user will be taken to the main 4Producers login page where they will need to click on the blue Sign up now link shown below. This will take them to the screen that collects the necessary information for the registration process. To register : Page 4 of 8

5 THE REGISTRATION FORM When registering a user will be presented with a screen similar to below. They will have to fill all fields in that are marked with a * character. The following rules are applied when registering: All mandatory fields must be populated (ie fields with a red asterix). The production credits must not include the text Please enter your production credits here. Page 5 of 8

6 The first name and last name must only contain the letters A-Z. The address must be in a valid format The password must match the confirmation password The password must be at least 8 characters long and include a symbol If the country is set as UNITED KINGDOM a postcode in a valid format must be provided. At the base of the form links are included to the terms and conditions and the privacy policy that you should read before proceeding. To continue can either click I ACCEPT, SIGN ME UP to accept the T&C s and the privacy policy and submit the registration request for further processing or NO THANKS to return to the main login page. If you click I ACCEPT, SIGN ME UP you will be returned to the main login screen, a new registration request will be created in the system and an acknowledgement of the request will be sent to you via . N.B. The first person to register from your company will, by default, be the super user and that login will be the one, which you need to use to amend any of your company information and details regarding the production. DUPLICATE ACCOUNT REQUESTS It is possible to request several accounts for the same address however the system will try to dissuade you. If the system detects an address that is already registered, a warning message will be immediately presented to you. Page 6 of 8

7 The message includes a link which will allow you to request a new password to be generated and ed to that address. If you continue with the application, when the request is vetted by Channel 4 staff this will be highlighted and the request will not be able to be accepted until the existing account is deleted. Therefore, to clarify you cannot have more than one account. The only reason for trying to create a duplicate account is if you have forgotten your login details and you do not want to wait to receive a password reset from Channel 4. Page 7 of 8

8 THE VETTING PROCESS Your registration request will be sent to a Channel 4 administrator who will look at the information you have provided and may contact you via and ask you to enter more detail into your registration request. AUTOMATED NOTIFICATIONS You will receive an notification to let you know if your request has been accepted or rejected. If your request is accepted you will be able to log in using your address and password provided by you at point of your registration request. FIRST LOGIN The first time you log into the system you will be taken to the Commissioning Home Page. Page 8 of 8
