5 What is new in this versin f HYCU This release f HYCU intrduces a variety f new backup and recvery features, key enhancements, and fixes that will help yu keep yur data prtected and safe in a simple and efficient way. Oracle applicatin discvery HYCU applicatin awareness has extended with Oracle database. In-built applicatin awareness nw lks inside yur virtual machines t detect als Oracle applicatins, prviding the cntext needed t cmpletely and cnsistently back up and restre them. Yu can restre either a whle Oracle applicatin r nly the selected tablespaces. When restring the tablespaces, yu can chse t restre them t a pint in time. Active Directry authenticatin Allws users t lg n t HYCU with an Active Directry accunt. HYCU nw allws yu t add users t user grups with different prtectin services an administratr prtectin service and a tenant prtectin service that define user rights within the backup envirnment. Each user within the same user grup has access t the same backup surces and is authrized t perfrm the same kind f actins. Active Directry authenticatin has been intrduced fr HYCU users, in additin t standard HYCU authenticatin. This allws users t lg n t HYCU with their Active Directry dmain accunt. Extended supprt fr an Exchange Server restre In additin t restring Exchange Server databases, yu can nw als restre mailbxes and public flders t their riginal r a different mailbx lcatin. Exchange Server supprt has als been extended t include Database Availability Grups, allwing yu t restre mailbx servers that are members f the Database Availability Grups. Supprt fr Azure Archive strage tier HYCU intrduces supprt fr the lwest cst tier fr rarely accessed data (mnthly r yearly archives where retentin is mre than 180 days). HYCU autmatically mves each data archive that has a retentin perid set t at least 180 days frm the Azure cl r ht 5

6 strage tier t the archive strage tier. By mving data archives t the archive strage tier, HYCU ensures yur data is stred mst cst-efficiently because the archive strage tier is ptimized fr string data that is nt accessed frequently and is stred fr at least 180 days. Extended licensing plicy The HYCU licensing plicy gives yu a pssibility t select the licensing apprach that better suits yu specific HYCU backup envirnment. Yu can decide fr licenses based n the number f prtected virtual machines r n the number f CPU sckets n all Nutanix clusters. Other enhancements and fixes The fllwing is a list f ther enhancements and fixes that cme with this release f HYCU: Extended SQL Server supprt t include als supprt fr AlwaysOn Availability Grups, allwing yu t restre databases that are part f the AlwaysOn Availability Grups. The HYCU deplyment n Nutanix ESXi clusters autmated t make the deplyment flw mre simple, quick, and easy. Enhanced security fr WinRM cnnectins. By default, HYCU uses HTTP t establish WinRM cnnectins. Hwever, if yu want t add an additinal layer f security, yu can nw cnfigure HYCU t use HTTPS fr WinRM cnnectins t virtual machines. Pssibility t specify a backup threshld value. When the amunt f changes n a virtual machine since the last full backup reaches the specified value, a new full backup is perfrmed instead f an incremental ne. Extended HYCU data prtectin t include Nutanix AHV clusters n which netwrk segmentatin is cnfigured. Ability t frce a full backup when perfrming a manual backup. Fr Nutanix ESXi clusters, the HYCU virtual appliance is distributed as a virtual appliance package (virtual disk image and OVF template) and yu can easily deply it by using the VMware vsphere Web Client.
