NY-CUCF This Addendum is issued fr the purpse f amending the subject Request fr Qualificatins (RFQ) and is hereby made a part f said RFQ t the same extent as thugh it were riginally included therein. This amendment changes the language f Sectin VI. Submissins t this Slicitatin by remving the first sentence f the frth bullet and replacing it with the fllwing sentence: An anntated image list sent as a Micrsft Wrd dcument. This Addendum is further issued fr the purpse f cnveying the belw listed Questins and Answers in respnse t the questins that were ed t the CUNY Cntracts Department. Cnsistent with Sectin X. NY-CUCF Fr the public art prject at N.Y. CUCF-05-10, will this be an utdr r indr wrk? The artwrk can be either interir r exterir. 2. Is it pssible fr an individual artist t submit a prpsal? I see that firms are highlighted in yur infrmatin. 3. Culd yu please ask the Architects if the entrance is apprpriate fr a Sundial Sculpture? The entrance wuld nt be an apprpriate place fr a sundial. 4. There seems t be a cntradictin as t the frm the submissin takes: n page 5: "An anntated image list sent either in the bdy f the submissin..." Can submissins indeed be made by , rather than by burning 10 cmpact discs? If s, what address shuld I use? If nt, what submissin are they referring t? The slicitatin has been amended (abve) eliminating the language that refers t submissins. 5. In the "Submissins t this Slicitatin" Sectin f yur RFQ, yu are asking fr 10 cpies f CDs (same) that cntain all the materials (wrd file and image files), n hard cpy. Please let me knw if this is crrect. Yes, that is crrect. 6. Creating 10 identical cmpact disks t be distributed t jury members is a waste f resurces fr bth the submitting artists and fr CUNY. Writing and checking each disk is time cnsuming, and mailing them is expensive and uses fssil fuels. On CUNY's side, the 1000s f cmpact disks will require string, lgging, and ther administering, and if they are being sent t jurrs, will cst mre mney and use mre fssil fuels. The pssibility f accidentally scratching r therwise making the disks unreadable is increased with s much handling. I suggest that yu allw submitting artists t their submissins. This will save resurces,

3 reduce the pssibility f errr, make the data mre easily available and transmittable. Please let me knw if this is a pssibility. At this time, it is nt lgistically pssible fr us t accept submissins via I need clarificatin n sectin VI. Submissins T This Slicitatin. D all three items, a "signed letter f interest" and a "prfessinal resume" and "6 images" all need t be burned nt ne single CD....and then the "anntated image list" (as a Micrsft Wrd dcument) be enclsed separately with the CD ( nt burned nt this CD)? All items requested shuld be submitted n the CDs. 8. It is nt clear in the PDF, part VI, whether r nt the "signed" letter f interest shuld be submitted within the disk, r sent as a hard cpy. If the latter d yu need 10? It als says in the last paragraph f that sectin that the image list can be submitted as an submissin. Is an electrnic submissin an alternative t submitting 10 cmpact discs, r shuld the image list be included n the 10 CDs? All items requested shuld be submitted n the CDs. 9. Are yu lking fr wall art, free standing sculpture, suspended sculpture, etc.? We are pen t varius mediums. 10. Can yu please send alng any additinal measurements r renderings yu have f the actual space where the artwrk is t be installed? Building drawings and details will be prvided t the shrtlisted artists. Renderings were made available as part f the RFQ. 11. I am a private sculptr withut a firm wh has a design that I have created n a small scale that I believe wuld be suitable fr this prject. Is it pssible t submit a prpsal withut a firm r must I first make cntact with the apprpriate cntractrs? Please refer t the RFQ Sectin VI. Submissins t this Slicitatin fr the submissin requirements. 12. Might kinetic sculpture be cnsidered? 13. Can the art cnnect the facade t the plaza? Or have elements that attach t the façade? Artwrk cannt be attached/ cnnected t the façade. 14. Can yu tell me if this prject is apprpriate fr figurative art, r if the cmmittee is lking fr smething mre cntemprary/abstract? We are pen t varius mediums.

4 15. Shuld the CD cntain images f wrk nly relevant t the prject? In my case these wuld be entirely phtgraphs f the mdels, as six images are nt many t cnvey size and scpe f prpsed prject. Further infrmatin (phts) culd be seen n my web site. The submissin shuld be limited t the materials requested in Sectin VI. Submissins t this Slicitatin. 16. Is the specific site (r sites) fr the artwrk already designated in the plans? If s, is that infrmatin available? There are n designated areas fr the artwrk. 17. Are there any limits as t dimensins fr the artwrk(s) Building drawings and details, which indicate building dimensins will be prvided t the shrtlisted artists. 18. Are cllabrative artist teams eligible? 19. Wh is respnsible fr selecting the artwrk? (Will the selectin panel be made public?) A selectin cmmittee cmprised f representatives frm CUNY will be respnsible fr making the selectin; the members f the panel will nt be made public. 20. Are yu lking fr nly ne artist fr the entire prject? One artist r firm will be selected. 21. Yu mentin an interactive artwrk, can yu describe what yu see as interactive? i.e. seating? waterfeature? electrnic? We will nt be prviding a definitin fr interactive artwrk; we wuld like the artist t define what interactive artwrk is fr them. 22. Is the artwrk intended fr interir r exterir placement? Is there a size limitatin? Free standing r against a wall? The artwrk culd be either interir r exterir. Building drawings and details, which indicate building dimensins will be prvided t the shrtlisted artists. The artwrk can be free standing r against a wall, hwever, artwrk cannt be attached/ cnnected t the façade. 23. We are artists wh d interactive electrnic wrk, invlving mtin and sund, s we wnder if we can additinally submit a DVD as part f the RFQ prcess.

The budget is referenced in Sectin III. Prject Backgrund. The ttal art prject budget is apprximately $ 360,000 dllars. 25. I am an artist interested in applying fr the Cllege f Technlgy's public artwrk, teaming up with anther individual with significant experience presenting gvernmental public art prjects. Can this be dne? If s, hw wuld yu recmmend that we structure ur RFQ t reflect ur cmbined experience? Yes, please refer t the RFQ Sectin VI. Submissins t this Slicitatin. 26.
