1 ACH Processing using third party software Quick Reference Guide Direct Send Feature The Direct Send feature allows customers who are using a third party software that creates their NACHA ACH file to be sent automatically by uploading it to our system. 1. If customers file includes the offset account information then go to the Payments & Transfers tab and select Send ACH File Uploading ACH file that includes offset account 2. From the Send ACH File menu customer must browse for their NACHA ACH File that is stored on their computer and click on upload. Send ACH File

2 3. After uploading the ACH File the user will be directed to the Send ACH File Verification screen where they will need to verify the totals are correct. Once information is verified click submit to proceed or cancel resubmit a corrected file. *upon submitting your ACH file the user will be prompted to enter their token verification code to complete submission successfully Send ACH File Verification 4. After submitting your ACH batch file go to Approve/View ACH Activity to see the status of your ACH batch file. Approve/ View ACH Activity

3 Import ACH Data Feature The Import ACH Data Feature allows users who have a NACHA formatted file without offset account information to upload their participants to our system. Once participants are uploaded, users will need to create a Batch Template with the offset account information then Assign Participants to Batch 1. Under the Payments & Transfers tab select Import ACH Data Import ACH Data 2. Click on Browse to search for your ACH file located in your computer (Please note that the file format selection will default to Standard ACH) Browse for ACH File

4 3. After importing the ACH File the user will be directed to the Import ACH File Verification screen where the user can verify the totals of the ACH file. Import Verification 4. Next, the user will need to create a Batch Template with the offset account information by selecting Maintain Batch Template under the Payments & Transfers tab. Maintain Batch Template

5 5. Next, the user will need to assign their participants that were extracted from their file to a batch. Go to Assign Participants to Batch under the Payments & Transfers tab. Assign Participants to Batch 6. The final step is to process your ACH batch by selecting Initiate ACH Batch under the Payments & Transfers tab. Verify the participants and batch totals and select Initiate to process your batch. You will receive a batch reference number where you can check the status by going to Approve / View ACH activity. *upon initiating your ACH file the user will be prompted to enter their token verification code to successfully complete submission Initiating ACH Batch (Token Required)

6 Immediate Destination: (Federal Reserve ID/Routing number) Immediate Origin: (Capital Bank s Routing number) Company Name: Your Company name NACHA ACH File Header Company ID: Your Tax ID Number (XX-XXXXXXX) Description: ACH Batch File Description (ex. Payroll, EFT, Draft, Dues.) Originating DFI Identification: (Capital Bank s Routing number without (0) at end) Immediate Destination name: Federal Reserve Immediate Origin Name: Capital Bank Prenote: A prenote is optional, zero dollar entries that are sent to the ACH System and then the receiving financial institution to verify instructions prior to send live entries. A prenote is a special testing mechanism for validating account information. The purpose of sending a zero dollar transaction is that this will generate an ACH exception if the unsuccessful, thereby notifying the financial institution that there is a problem with the setup. If successful, there is no adverse effect and both you and your financial institution can be confident that the setup is correct. Helpful Information 3 rd party Software Customer: If you are a current 3rd party software user from another financial institution please be sure to make the following changes within your software using the information found in the NACHA ACH File Header before processing your first ACH file. If you are unsure on how to make these changes please contact your 3 rd Party Software provider for assistance. Deleting A File: When submitting a request to have an ACH file deleted please send the request to address eservice_info@capitalbank-us.com or click on the log in page. All request submitted must include the following information: Company Name Batch ID Number Batch Amount v
