2 SellerBlast Welcome to SellerBlast! ManageByStats campaign service. What it is SellerBlast is a Bulk ing service, integrated directly with your ManageByStats. With SellerBlast there are two ways to send s. You can create and send campaigns using either: real addresses for your customers, gathered through our Appends service OR the customer s Amazon cloaked address This means you can compose and send campaigns to your Amazon customer s, which means you can reach all your customers via Amazon with an campaign. You can also send campaigns to real s if you have them. When using the real option SellerBlast is not as picky about spam complaints as other ing services. You will not be banned or shut down for that kind of problem. SellerBlast is integrated with MBS. This means you can build and launch campaigns to your customers filtered by the info contained in MBS, such as date range, products purchased, repeat buyer status, and whether or not they refunded. As you can see, SellerBlast is a great additional tool for your business. What it isn t As helpful as this is, as useful and, frankly, as amazing, we need to be aware of some limitations. For your Amazon s, there are restrictions on how many s Amazon will let you send each day. Amazon s volume cap is: 600 s/day + (5 x daily orders) For example, say you do 100 orders a day. Amazon will allow (5 x 100) s to be sent through their system, or 1,100 s each day. This volume includes ALL s. So, if you re using our other tool, SellerMail, for example, any messages sent through that will also count against the total. As well as any you send through Amazon manually or in any other way. Also, for Amazon s you need to adhere to their requirements for message composition. No outside links, for example. So, there are a few limitations to be aware of. 2

3 On the real side of things, SellerBlast isn t a high-tier player, like a Constant Contact or AWeber. SellerBlast is a solution, a vital solution, especially when you re building your list and building your credibility. It s a way to get important info in front of your customers, in bulk, and even to invite them to opt in to a larger service, like an AWeber, for example. But SellerBlast is not those larger services. Nor was it intended to be. That s what SellerBlast is and what it isn t. Now to start using it. * * NOTE: No added subscription is needed if you will only be using SellerBlast to send to your customer s Amazon s. Note Also: There is a cost if you use SellerBlast to send to real addresses. There are two reasons for this: 1. A domain must be purchased 2. We segregate each user on their own web address for sending The first is more obvious; you ll need a domain registered with us in order to send. We allow you to register a domain of your choice, and this is described in that section later in this doc. The second is not as obvious, but it s important to understand the cost and what you re getting when you sign up for SellerBlast. When you sign up to send to real s we set you up with your own web address for sending s. What that means is that your activities and your deliverability are not affected by others, as each user has their own address and are not bundled with others. The advantage is that you have a unique address and domain from which to send. The Basics There are just a few basic steps. * * 0. Get a domain to use for sending. (If you re going to do campaigns using real addresses.) We've made this easy for you, and have provided a section for registering a domain. This is only needed if using real s. 1. Create a List. 2. Create a message (which can use fields from the List). 3. Create a Campaign using the List and the Message both. Campaigns are either Amazon or Appended s - but not both. That s about it. Let s get started. Setting Up As mentioned, there are two ways to send s to your customers. You can use: 3

4 1. Real s 2. Amazon Cloaked s There are therefore two setups for SellerBlast. It s a single tool, but there is a setup sequence for when you re using the Amazon Cloaked s, and when you re using Real s. By default, when you first activate SellerBlast, you re setting up to send to the Amazon cloaked s. To do this you just need to also have SellerMail active. See the SellerMail section in the User Guide for more info on SellerMail as needed: If you re not using SellerMail, sign up for the Free version (of SellerMail), and that will be enough to enable SellerBlast. For the second part of setting up SellerBlast, if you want to send to Real addresses, you ll need to add at least one Domain. Adding A Domain If you re going to send to Real addresses you ll need to set up a domain through SellerBlast. This is for purposes of sending to the appended lists. For security reasons, this cannot be a domain that you are using already for something else. Note: You don t need to register a domain if you will only be sending to the Amazon cloaked addresses. Only if you will be using real s. If you re going to use the Real service, you ll need to sign up under Upgrade SellerBlast: Select the plan that will be best for your needs. Once that s done the Upgrade SellerBlast menu item changes to Domains. SellerBlast Domains is where you register domains. Click the orange + sign to register a domain. You get the New Domain Setup form: 4

5 Note that there is a $19.90 cost for the domain. This is passed on to you from the domain registrar. When you type in domain it tells you in real time if it s available or not. is the at which you want to receive correspondence for that domain. 5

6 When registering it will show domain name and Registration in process. When done it shows: Once you have your domain you will be all set to send campaigns to Real addresses. SUGGESTION: Unique domain names are hard to come by these days, especially ones that make sense. Odds are you already have a domain, and have been branding it and your company name. Since you need to register a domain with SellerBlast that will be used exclusively for the purpose of sending s through SellerBlast, we recommend you simply register something with a name that incorporates your existing domain, and thus reinforces your branding. For example, if your domain is: LovelyKitchens. com you might register the domain: LovelyKitchensOffers.com or something like that. Reminder: You don t need to register a domain if you will only be sending to the Amazon cloaked addresses. Only if you will be using real s. Contact Lists (1. Create a list) First step to a campaign is to create a list. Under Contact Lists click the orange + sign: 6

7 You get a form to fill in. The parameters you can select are similar to what you can specify when generating a customer list under Customers Generate Report. 7

8 Leaving the Date Selection blank will give you customers for all time that meet the selected criteria. For Amazon Contacts : this option can be selected if you intend to send a separate campaign to customers with real addresses. By default the list will include all customers, including those with real addresses (you ll notice that it tells you how many Amazon contacts will be in the list, based on selections, and how many of those have real addresses, if any). If you want to do one campaign to those without real addresses, using their Amazon addresses, select this option. The list will not contain those with real addresses. Make your selections and give the list a name that represents the parameters. Click to create the list and you will see it now in your SellerBlast Contact Lists: Templates (2. Create a message) Messages are created under the Templates section. Click the orange + to create a message: You get two options: 8

9 We ll first look at the Amazon Contacts Template. Amazon Contacts Template Select the Amazon Contacts Template option to create a template that will be used to send to your Amazon cloaked addresses. Note that this template cannot contain any outside links. 9

10 Create the template and give it a name. Subject: the subject line of your Message, which your buyers will see. You can use variables in the subject, such as ${order-id}. See variable options in Body below. Body: this uses a standard, what s called WISIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get). In other words you can format the text and see it as it will appear, using the option toolbars above the body, much like in Word or other writing programs. If desired you can also click the <> Source button and see the actual HTML. If you re comfortable working in HTML you can format the message this way. Variables can be used to insert info from the list to personalize the message. When inserting a variable use the Insert pulldown. Place your cursor where you want the variable to appear and choose it from the Insert menu. Here is a list of the variables and what they are: ${buyer-name} = customer full name ${first-name} = customer first name only 10

11 ${last-name} = customer last name only ${buyer- } = customer ${coupon} = Add it. It goes into your Template list, marked as an Amazon Contacts type: Append Contacts Template These are created the same as the Amazon Contacts templates, but they will show up as a template type of Append Contacts Only. They will only be able to be used in Append Contacts campaigns. Coupon Templates There are two basic template types, as described above: Amazon Contacts Append Contacts That said, you can make either of those two types a coupon template. When creating a Campaign you will have the option to create a coupon campaign for either an Amazon Contacts list or an Append Contacts list. That will be discussed more in the next section. To create a coupon template, simply insert this variable: ${coupon} in the message body. You can find that variable in the Insert pulldown. When the ${coupon} variable exists in a template, the system sees it as a coupon template. That variable will insert single-use coupons from a file (discussed in next section), one coupon for each message. An example of how you might use the variable in your message: Here s your coupon code: ${coupon} That would then come out in the Here s your coupon code: XYZ-123-ABC Where each coupon code would be unique for each customer. 11

12 Campaigns (3. Create a campaign) From the SellerBlast Dashboard you can click to Create New Campaign. This will take you directly to the Campaigns page. SellerBlast Campaigns is where you create campaigns. The screen looks like this: The big buttons are what you click to create a campaign. For example, in the above example we can click on the big a Amazon button to create a campaign using Amazon contacts. If you have other templates created you will have those buttons available. Amazon Contacts Campaign Click the big Amazon a for an Amazon Contacts campaign. You get this screen: 12

13 Give the campaign a name, choose which list to use, and the Template, which should be an Amazon Contacts Template. Note: only templates without the ${coupon} variable will show up as an option in the Amazon Contacts. See the section Templates Coupon Templates above. The Sender option pulls from your SellerMail Settings. Any profiles you have set in SellerMail Settings will appear as an option in the Sender pulldown. Note, you can send a Test to yourself. If you choose that option put an in the Test s field, then choose Send Test s. You will get a sample of 5 s to that address. Select whether to schedule the campaign, or start it immediately. Click Start to send the campaign. Clicking Start will send you back to the Campaigns list. The list you started will show Activating : 13

14 This will switch to Active once the campaign is running. When done it will show Complete, and show how many s were Sent in the Sent column. You ll see the sent messages in your Seller Central Messages section. Amazon Contacts Campaign With Coupons If you re creating a coupon campaign, you will need to have created a Template with the ${coupon} code in it. To make it a Coupon Template, just add the ${coupon} variable to a template. See the section Templates Coupon Templates above. You ll also need to create a list of single-use coupon codes. 1. Create your single-use coupons in your Amazon Seller Central account. 2. Make a single-column CSV file of those coupons. 3. Create the coupon campaign. To create the campaign: Click the + under Campaigns and then select the Amazon Contacts With Coupons option: You ll get a screen very similar to the one for creating an Amazon campaign, with the addition of an option to choose a Coupon file: 14

15 When you go to choose a Template, any template with a ${coupon} variable will show up in the list of options. Coupon file must be a list of coupons, single column CSV file. You can then select a Sender (sender profiles are set in your SellerMail Settings) Note, you can send a Test to yourself. If you choose that option put an in the Test s field, then choose Send Test s. You will get a sample of 5 s to that address. Select whether to schedule the campaign, or start it immediately. Click Start to send the campaign. Clicking Start will send you back to the Campaigns list. The list you started will show Activating : 15

You ll see the sent messages in your Seller Central Messages section. Append Contacts Campaigns If you have Real s then you can do a campaign to your real addresses. Real s are generated through the Appends service, which is under Customers Appends section in your ManageByStats. Note: to do a campaign to Append Contacts you need to have a Domain registered through SellerBlast. This is done under Domains. Please see the Setting Up Adding A Domain section above. Click the Append Contacts button and you get a screen similar to setting up other campaigns: 16

17 When you select a Sender Domain you ll get a Sender field and can select a Sender: You can either specify an existing sender if you have one created, or you can click to Add one. If you click to add one you get the following fields: 17

18 In that case (creating a new one) you ll need to specify the real address that any responses will forward to. Either select or Add: Next you ll notice you can specify the physical address for your business in the CAN-SPAM Address section. You can pick yours if you ve added it before, or add one by expanding the selection: This will include your company address for CAN-SPAM compliance purposes. Note, you can send a Test to yourself. If you choose that option put an in the Test s field, then choose Send Test s. You will get a sample of 5 s to that address. Select whether to schedule the campaign, or start it immediately. Click Start to send the campaign. Clicking Start will send you back to the Campaigns list. The list you started will show Activating : This will switch to Active once the campaign is running. When done it will show Complete, and show how many s were Sent in the Sent column. You ll see the sent messages in your Seller Central Messages section. 18

19 Metrics You can see SellerBlast performance info on the SellerBlast Dashboard: As well as Open and Click info under Campaigns: You can click the Log links in the Open and Clicks columns to get more info on either Opens or Clicks. 19
