1 1 HOW TO SET UP INTERNET-BASED ON YOUR APACHE This guide outlines the steps necessary to set up your internet-based on your Apache. It will show you: How to access your via Webmail How to manage with Pocket Outlook The appendix lists the settings for some of the major providers in New Zealand. 7 7 FAQs If I download an on my Apache will I still be able to read it on my computer? Yes, by default the Apache will leave a copy of the on the server. If you find that s are being deleted from your ISP server and you are also viewing s through Outlook on your computer, check that Outlook isn t configured to delete s from the ISP server. (In Outlook, select Tools, Accounts, and View or change existing accounts. POP3 is a simple service that doesn t support this function. Can I set up more than one account? Yes, simply follow the same process again. To switch between accounts, simply tap Menu at the bottom of the screen when you are in the Messaging screen and select Switch Accounts. My provider offers POP3 and IMAP, what is the difference? POP3 is a simple store-and-forward service, but doesn t distinguish between your PC, your Apache or your phone. IMAP4 is managed by your mail provider and is synchronised with your device, so you always have the most recent view regardless of how you work. Can I delete an account once I have set it up? Yes. You need to go into Menu at the bottom of the screen when you are in the Messaging screen and choose Tools, then Options. Tap and hold the stylus down on the account you want to delete and a box will appear that says Delete. Tap Delete and select Yes. That account and all its s will be permanently deleted from your Apache. I ve entered the information about incoming and outgoing mail servers exactly as it is on the table but I still can t c connect, what can I do? The best thing to do is call your provider to explain your issue. They should be able to help. Can I change how often the Apache checks for new ? Yes. Tap, Start, Messaging and then Tools. Tap the name of your account then tap Next three times. On the final screen you will see an Options button. Tap the check box Connect and check for messages every: (as shown in step 9) and set how often you want your device to check for . The default is 15 minutes, but it can be set from 1-60 minutes.
