In the beginning, the Worms Group was active in international trades, mainly coal to Belgium. In 1856, the group became a ship owner. The Company was acquired in June 1998 by the Worms and Barnaud families, in partnership with the main managers who took a minority share. The Managing Director of the company is Mr. Nicolas Barnaud. Today Worms Services Maritimes is very active as a shipping agent in France and in the main Mediterranean countries of Morocco, Algeria, and Libya. Worms provides ship agency, cruise ship agency, yacht agency, shore excursion agency and liner agency services in all countries. Worms has obtained ISO 9001 accreditation by LRQA since July 10th All offices in Algeria are wholly owned. In Morocco the Worms Group acquired the Lasry Moroc ship agency group. They continue to use the Lasry brand name. The Gebril Group in Libya is a joint venture between the Worms Group and the Gebril family. Subagents are employed in Tunisia. Worms provides their principals with centralized operations coordination for services in France, and all Mediterranean countries. Worms Services Maritimes offers centralized accounting with a single bank account and on-line computerized vessels' call proforma to ensure smooth handling and timely closing of vessels accounts. Furthermore, all its offices are connected to the online Internet computerized information system allowing the follow up of vessels operations in real-time.
