1 Apple ID: ipad-setup phgs2017 TURN ON YOUR IPAD If your ipad is not already on, turn it on now using the button at the top right hand corner. 1

2 GETTING STARTED This is the first screen you will be presented with. Swipe from left to right to dismiss this message. 2

3 Select a language by clicking English. Select your country United Kingdom 3

4 Choose your home Wi-Fi network and enter password. This information can usually be found on a sticker on the bottom of your internet box (Router) Select Enable Location Services. This allows you to find your ipad if lost and also helps us determine when it is in school or out of school. 4

5 Touch ID Set Up touch ID later Create a 6 digit passcode. This is required and needs to be something you will remember but not too simple. Don t use codes like the ones below:

6 Choose Setup as New ipad If you want to use an existing Apple ID we can do this on the the page. We would like all students to use their school address as their Apple ID so please select Don t have an Apple ID or forgot it? 6

7 We will do this later once we need to download an App Please select Set Up Later Then click Don t Use Then click Don t Use 7

8 Please read and Agree to terms and Conditions. Select Don t use Siri for no And choose weather you want to share Ipad Analytics with Apple 8

9 Select Get Started Open Settings 9

10 Under General, click About Click on Name Please set this to be your school username 10

11 Please set the name of your ipad to be your computer username. ENROLLING IN OUR MOBILE DEVICE MANAGER 11

12 Press Home button and then Open up the App Store to install your first App. Home Button Type in Company portal And click Microsoft Intune Company Portal 12

13 Click Get and then Install Select Create New Apple ID 13

14 CREATING A NEW APPLE ID As your child is under 13 you we need to open an Apple ID account and manage it on behalf of your child. You can then pass this account over to them when they reach 13 if you like. For now the account belongs to you, the parent, so please fill the details in for yourself. If you use your child s details and date of birth the account will fail to create. Please use the address provided by the school for the Apple ID. This will allow us to help you more in the event of a forgotten password Please enter your Child address Eg SmithJ17@students.p rincehenrys.co.uk Please choose a secure password with at least 8 characters including 1 capital letter and a 14

15 Enter your Name and DOB Please don t use your child's DOB as this will not work and account will fail to create Please Select 3 questions and answer them Try to choose questions where the answer can not change and make sure your spelling is correct, you will use these questions to recover your password if forgotten. Credit/Debit Card Select None Enter Name and address and contact number. 15

16 Enter your Address and Phone number. Note the phone number can be used by Apple to send an automated message for password reset if requested. Please ask your child to check school for a 5 digit code from Apple. Enter this and click Verify 16

17 Please Select 3 questions and answer them Try to choose questions where the answer can not change and make sure your spelling is correct, you will use these questions to recover your password if forgotten. Now Apple ID is setup, we can continue to download our first App and enroll Device Enter password you just choose for Apple ID 17

18 Click either Sign in with school address ents.princehenr ys.co.uk 18

19 Enter password You now need to confirm payment details. As we have just created a new account we can select None, then enter your Name Address and Telephone details. 19

20 Click Begin Click Continue 20

21 Click Continue Click Enroll. 21

22 Click Allow. Click Install 22

23 Enter your passcode to allow it to install the profile. Click Install Now 23

24 Click Trust Click Done 24

25 Click Open Click Ipad and your all done. 25

28 Now go to Settings and you will be prompted to enter your password for your . This is the same as your computer password. YOUR IPAD IS NOW SETUP AND READY TO USE 28
