1 Downloading and editing signatures! The templates are customizable and can be edited and saved with any html editor like Dreamweaver. If this is not available we have two alternatives for editing/saving signatures for the MAC and PC. To start download the files from the branding site here: MAC MAIL 2. Right click the downloaded html file and edit your signature file (using Dreamweaver, or ExtendScript Toolkit 2) with your information (name, job title etc), then save the file on your desktop and name it like Out going signature 3. Open the file with Safari web browser only (you must create a webarchive file from this browser) 4. From Safari's web browser Save file as a webarchive file to your desktop (this option should appears automatically) or select the File format to be Web Archive 5. The file is now ready to be placed into mac mail. Directions are listed below. MAC HTML file 2. Right click the downloaded html file and edit your signature file (using Dreamweaver, or ExtendScript Toolkit 2) with your information (name, job title etc), then save the file on your desktop and name it like Out going signature. 5. The HTML file is now ready to be placed into any HTML signature reader. Directions are listed below. PC OK there are only 2 ways to edit your signature for a PC. Please follow closely! Using Dreamweaver type of editor or Thunderbird! These way will insure the images stay connected to UCM and not break. Dreamweaver: 2. Right click the downloaded html file and edit your signature file using Dreamweaver or another type of HTML editor with your information (name, job title etc), then save the file on your desktop and name it like Out going signature.
2 3. The HTML file is now ready to be placed into any HTML signature reader. Directions are listed below. Thunderbird reader: Thunderbird should be used for people that do not have an HTML editor available. It was the easiest and only way to edit and save an HTML file from a PC and insure file and image structure!! If you do not have Thunderbird you will either need to download it or use an HTML editor like dreamweaver to make changes. 2. You will need to open this file in a web browser, it does not matter. 3. You will need to copy the source code from the web browser. To do this you will need to right click within the browser window. 4. Right click inside the browser window. A box will appear look for View Page Source and select that. 5. Another window will pop up. Select the code and copy it. Close the windows. 6. Open Thunderbird. 7. Go to File New Message 8. Select inside the body area of the new message. 9. Select Insert HTML from the new message window. 10. A pop up screen will appear. 11. Paste the code into this window and select insert 12. You will now see the signature in the preview area ready to be edited. Do not touch the images just highlight the text that needs to be edited to match your information. 13. After you have edited the preview window, select File Save As File in the message window. 14. A pop up screen will appear to save file. Name the file it like Out going signature to your desktop. Save as type should be default to HTML Files keep that and select save! 15 The window will stay up you will need to close it. The new html file with your new information is now saved in an HTML format ready to be placed in a reader listed below. Attaching a Signature File to various clients! Mac Mail OS X.4 or higher (Macintosh users) 1. Launch Mail, from Mail s top menu, select Mail > Preferences and go to the Signature pane. From the Signatures pane, click the plus icon underneath the
3 middle column to create a new Signature. This creates a generic signature with your name and in it. Close window and quit Mail. 2. Navigate from your hard drive to Design > Library > Mail > Signatures. 3. Copy the text from the newly created webarchive file in the signature folder. It should look something like this: F7588DA BF-827E-EE0D5FFA122E.webarchive 6. Paste the text into the name of the webarchive file you created on your desktop. 7. Drag the newly renamed webarchive file from the desktop to the Signatures folder and replace what is there. 8. Launch Apple Mail, 9. Select Mail then Preferences 10. In the pop up window select 'Signatures' 9. Drag the signature filename (middle column) to your account name (left column). Set the signature to default when creating a new mail message. Microsoft Outlook 1. Launch Microsoft Outlook 2. Click Tools and select Options 3. Click the Mail Format tab 4. Click Signature Picker. Browse and to oracle_ _sig.html 5. Click Apply then OK ThunderBird Attach html file. This action attaches images 1. Under Tools 2. Account Setting 3. Click the check box to attach the signature, 4. Click "Choose" to find it 5. Then "Open" 6. Then "Ok" Use HTML code. This action is for non attached images 1. Under Tools 2. Account Setting
4 3. Click the check box to Use HTML, 4. Paste the code with in the window. 5. Then select "Ok" Yahoo Web Mail 1. In Yahoo Mail, go to Options in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Under Management, click on General Preferences. 2. Under Composing s select "Compose messages as color and graphics." Scroll down and click Save. 3. Now you can save the Out going signature HTML code as your signature: In Yahoo Mail 1. Go to Options in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Under Management, click Signature. 2. Next to Editor, click on Color and Graphics. 3. Check View HTML Source. 4. In a web browser, find the directory where you saved the Out going 5. Right click the web browser window to view the source code. 6. Copy and paste the HTML code you copied into the window. 7. Check "Add signature to all outgoing messages" if you want the Out going signature to be added to all of the messages you send. 7. Click Save. Hotmail
5 1. After you log in to Hotmail, go to Options in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. 2. Go to the Mail category and follow the Personal Signature link. You will see a text field with the words "The signature below will be added to each outgoing message" above it. To the right of this is a checkbox marked "Show the rich-text toolbar." Make sure the checkbox is unchecked. 3. In a web browser, find the directory where you saved the Out going 4. Right click the web browser window to view the source code. 5. Copy and paste the HTML code you copied into the window. 6. Check the Show Rich Text Bar checkbox. The Out going signature will now appear inside the text field. 7.Click OK. AOL 1. Go to AOL Mail and click Write Mail (or just click Write). 2. Click Signatures at the bottom right of the letter template and, then highlight and click Set Up Signatures. 3. Click Create in the new window. In the upper field of the new window, type Out going signature. 4. In a web browser, find the directory where you saved the Out going 5. Right click the web browser window to view the source code. 6. Copy and paste the HTML code you copied into the window. 7. Click OK. Other Web Mail Currently, the Out going signature signature cannot be used with Gmail, Comcast webmail, MSN mail, Earthlink, Bellsouth webmail and Verizon mail, because these programs do not allow HTML signatures in outgoing mail.
