6 Introduction Global settings manage the behavior of predefined functions in Qvidian Proposal Automation (QPA). You can modify these settings to change your users' experience and customize QPA based on your organization's preferences and needs. For example, you can change global settings to control the visibility of the project, the types of files you can load to the library, the Sender field of s generated by QPA, and the behavior of the Save to Clipboard function. You must have the Manage Application Settings user permission granted to have access to global settings. Caution: Global settings affect all users and may have a significant impact on your QPA instance. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a Qvidian representative. Modify a global setting 1. Go to Administration > Application Settings > Global Settings. 2. Scroll to the setting you want to modify and double-click it, or click the setting and then click Modify. The Edit Setting screen displays for the selected setting. Note You can quickly locate a setting by typing text into the search box above the grid and then pressing Enter. 3. Modify the setting as necessary or click Default to reset the value to the default setting 4. Click Save to save the changes and close the dialog box or Cancel to close without making changes. 5. Click Save to save the changes. List of global settings The list below includes all global settings in QPA along with a description, their default value and additional notes where applicable. AddBookmarkURL Specifies the URL to use, if specified, when a user clicks on "Add Bookmark". Default is ''. " AllowBuildWithDisabledSelections Specifies whether documents can be built if some of the Selection Items have been disabled. Qvidian Proposal Automation Global Settings Guide 1

7 Notes: Selection Items within a document type may be disabled when architecting the document type. When a document includes disabled Selection Item(s), this setting controls whether building the document is allowed or disallowed. If set to On, the document can be built but an appropriate message is displayed. If set to "Off", the document cannot be built and an appropriate message is displayed. AllowDuplicateProjectTitles Specifies if the Qvidian application should allow duplicate Project Titles (across all document types). Setting of "On" will allow duplicates; "Off" will not. AllowHTMLEditor Allow HTML in "News and Announcements" and component Help text. AllowInlineEditingOfDOCXContent Allow content managers to enable inline editing for docx content which could cause loss of fidelity compared to editing in Microsoft Office. AllowPresentationBuildWithoutTemplate Allow building of a presentation without a template. AllowProjectCreation Enable users to create projects and collaborate with others to complete a document package. Default is Off. Notes: This setting adds the Add Project button to the Created Documents screen and the Create a Project link option, which users can add to the their Home page, to the Customize Home Page screen. AlwaysAlphabetizeItems An option to always display items alphabetized within a group for a Selection Tree without requiring manually sorting them. ApplyTemplatePostBuild Specifies if the Qvidian application should apply build templates again at the completion of the project build. 8 AuthenticateDownloadLinks Indicates whether to force QPA authentication when clicking on a download link. Values: 0: Do not authenticate. Anyone can access content via web links. 1: Prompt to authenticate when creating the link. The Require Authentication check box will display in the generate web links dialog box. If the check box is selected, only licensed QPA users can access that content via the weblink. 2: Always authenticate. Only licensed QPA users can access content via web links. 0 AutomaticRFPRevisionTracking Enable Automatic RFP Revision Tracking. BCCAddresses A list of addresses to which all s will be sent using BCC. BuildMaxWait Length of time (in seconds) that the application will allow a user to wait on a build to complete before reverting to an BuildToPDF Specifies if the "Build to PDF" feature is available within Projects. Value of "On" indicates feature is available. 9 CleanTextRegularExpressionReplace Specifies regular expression to use when filtering data for replacement of "junk" characters with a space/blank. [\u0000-\u0006\u0009-\u000d]+ Caution: This setting should only be modified as directed by Qvidian personnel. ClearBuiltInOfficePropertiesOnSave Specifies if built-in Office document properties should be cleared during document saves from Office applications. Value of "On" indicates to clear the properties. ClearCustomOfficePropertiesOnSave Specifies if custom Office document properties should be cleared during document saves from Office applications. Value of "On" indicates to clear the properties. ContentExpiringInXDays Specifies number of days to use for My Expiring and All Expiring library content searches including Home page panels and library standard searches. Value of 30 indicates search for content expiring within next 30 days. 30 CreateSlideThumbnailOnUpload Specifies if thumbnail images should be generated for Microsoft PowerPoint slides during upload. Value of "On" specifies that thumbnail images will be generated during upload. If set to "Off", thumbnail images are generated the first time a slide presentation is previewed. DefaultContentLanguageID This is the default Language ID to be used when automatically adding content to the library from Architecting or when creating a new bundle within the Library DefaultLibraryWordSearch Specifies the library default word searching method. 10 DisableInflectionalSearch Specifies if inflectional searching is disabled for all library content searches. Value of "On" indicates inflectional searching is disabled. DisableInflectionalSearchLCIDs Specifies list of language/locale IDs (LCIDs) to disable inflectional searching for during library content searches E+31 DisplayUserLastNameFirst Specifies display order of full user names. Value of "On" indicates last name is displayed first. SenderOverride Override the sender's address and put the actual sender's address in the Reply To field. Examples: (replaces whole (replaces only the domain). Notes: If your Qvidian generated s are going to your users' junk mail folder, because the domain that they are generated from does not match the domain in the sender's address, you can specify an alternative address to use as the sender, or alter the domain of the actual sender s address while keeping the original sender's address in the reply to field. For example: If original sender's address is a.user@yourcompany.com and the value in the SenderOverride setting is notifications@qvidian.com, notifications@qvidian.com will appear as the sender and replies would go to a.user@yourcompany.com. If original sender's address is a.user@yourcompany.com and the value in the SenderOverride setting a.user@qvidian.com will appear as the sender and replies would go to SendTimeout Specifies the timeout (in seconds) for QPA Notification send operations (Minimum value of 5 seconds enforced). 10 EnableFeedback Notifications Enables / Disables Feedback Notifications. EnableInlineEditingAnswerRFPQuestions Enables or disables support for inline editing within the Answer RFP Questions page. EnableIPFiltering Enable IP Filtering. EnableOffice365 Enables the Microsoft Office 365 online editing option. Users must have an Office 365 license. Notes: The Microsoft Office 365 online editing option is currently only available in review jobs. EnableProsearchUsersRFPReadOnlyPreview Enables or disables Prosearch users ability to view a read-only version of the RFP for context while answering questions. EnableStyleSafeRFPEditor Enable style-safe inline editor for RFP projects. EnableSuggestedSearch Specifies whether to display suggested search queries when users type into the Search field in the application's Navigation bar. EnforceSlideLayout Strictly enforce PowerPoint slide layouts. Setting of "On" will reset slides to match their master slide layouts. EventAuditRetentionDays Event audits older than this configured age (in days) are purged from the system daily. 12 ExcelAddInInstalled If ActiveX is not enabled, this flag indicates if the users will have the Qvidian add-in for Microsoft Excel installed. ExceptionsLogFile Exceptions Log File (full path and filename). If specified, exceptions will be logged to the specified file. The specified path/file MUST be permissioned for writing and accessible from the IIS Server(s). FileContentSelectFilter File extensions filter for "File Content". Value of 0 specifies gathering statistics without applying permissions; Non-zero value specifies gathering statistics with permissions applied. 0 ForceDatabaseCheck Specifies if the database should be checked every time when generating the Site URL. 13 GetSchemeOption Specifies the method for generating the protocol for the site URL. Possible values are "Request" (or ""), "Header" and "SchemeOverride". GetServerOption Specifies the method for generating the site URL. Possible values are "RequestURL", "Assembled" (or ""), "ServerURLOverride" and "Header". GridAutoSearchTimeout Specifies grid auto-search timeout. Value of 0 specifies that grid search will not execute until user types the Enter key. Value of non-zero specifies the number of milliseconds to wait after last keystroke before automatically executing the grid search (Minimum value of 500 is enforced). 0 HideAutoAnswer This will hide the 'Auto Answer' functionality for RFP users. IgnoreStylePreservation Specifies if the Ignore Preservation Style flag should be disregarded when uploading new RFP files. IncludeAllSelectionsInAgenda Include all selected items when a subsection is selected for Agenda Slide inclusion. ItemContentSelectFilter File extensions filter for "Item Content". Common_WordFiles *.doc;*.docm;*.docx Common_PowerPointFiles *.ppt;*.pptm;*.pptx LibraryCompositeEditEnabled Specifies if the library's composite (multiple Microsoft Word content documents combined into a single Word document) editing is enabled. LibraryCompositeSMEEditEnabled Specifies if the library's composite (multiple Word content documents combined into a single Word document) 'Send to SME' editing is enabled. 14 LibraryMergeCodeDefaultsMode Specifies Library's Merge Code Defaults Mode for Save to Clipboard, Download, and Export operations. Value of 0 (default) specifies 'Never apply merge code defaults', 1 specifies 'Always apply merge code defaults', 2 specifies 'Provide user both options'. 0 LibrarySearchHistoryExpiration Specifies the number of days to keep content library search history records. Minimum value of 7, maximum value of LibraryStructureLoadTransferSize Specifies the number of folders to send to the client browser in a single transfer during library configuration operations. Specifying a value lower than the number of library folders will break the library configuration operations into multiple transfers instead of a single transfer. Minimum value of 100 enforced LibraryTooltipTimeout Specifies the duration (seconds) that the tooltip will be displayed. 2 MaxConsecutive Errors Specifies the number of attempts to send an SMTP before failing. 3 MaxFirstLevelLibraryFolders Specifies the maximum number of folders allowed at the first level under the root library folder for pre-loading when library window is opened. Exceeding this maximum will result in only the root library folder being pre-loaded. 50 MaximumContentTextExtract This is the maximum length of text to extract from content's native file. Valid length setting can range from 1 to A setting outside the valid range will be ignored and a length setting of 1000 will be used MaximumLibraryContentExportCount Specifies the maximum number of content records allowed in a Library Export up to 2000 records. 15 500 MaximumLibraryContentExportSize Specifies the maximum size allowed for the composite file created by a Library Export up to 32 megabytes. Specifying 10, for example, limits the composite file size to 10 megabytes. 32 MaximumSearchResultsShown This is the maximum number of search results items that will be available in various Qvidian interfaces and dialogs. 250 MCOneColumnDropDownWidth Pixel width of Merge Code single column dropdown. Max value NavigationReloadAlways Specifies if the Qvidian application should always reload the Project navigation tree whenever the user changes nodes in the project, regardless of if the current node has changed. ProjectDocumentWIPCheckoutAttemptsMax Maximum number of attempts to successfully check out RFP document before advising user the request cannot be processed since another user request is already in-progress. Note that a 2 second delay will occur between attempts. Default is 5 (Minimum value of 1 and maximum value of 15 enforced). 5 QAContentSelectFilter File extensions filter for "QA Content". Common_PowerPointFiles *.ppt;*.pptm;*.pptx SpecifyDownloadLinkType Specifies the type of generated download links, also known as web links, created for customers with mixed mode authentication. Values: 0: Only generates and displays a link that redirects to a QPA login page that includes a Single Sign-On button for SSO users if the instance is in mixed mode. 18 1: Generates and displays two separate links: a Single Sign-On link that takes SSO users directly to the content record, and an Explicit Login link that takes users to a login page. 2: Only generates and displays a Single Sign-On link. SSO users can click the link and go directly to the content record. 0. SPSJobMaxWait Length of time (in seconds) that the application will allow a user to wait on a QPA request to complete before reverting to an SPSJobWaitCheckFrequency Frequency (in seconds) that the application will poll the server to see if a QPA request has completed. 2 SQLCommandTimeout Specifies number of seconds to use as the default timeout for SQL commands. 30 SupportURL This is the URL to take the user to when they select "Qvidian Support" from the Help menu. SymmetricAlgorithm Specifies the encryption algorithm to use for user passwords. Possible values are RIJNDAEL (default or if the string is empty), DES, RC2 and TRIPLEDES. SymmetricKey Specifies the encryption key to use when managing passwords. If the value is empty (default), an internal key is used. Uploadblacklist This is the list of file extensions to restrict users from uploading into a project. Files that end in any of these extensions will not be allowed. 19 Uploadwhitelist This is the list of file extensions to allow users to upload into a project. Files that end in any of these extensions will be allowed. The list can have multiple extensions separated by a semicolon (for example htm;html;xml). URLAuthorityAlias Alternate text to be used as the Authority portion of the site URL used for the Forgot Password link, and the links sent in login-related s. This might be used if a customer sets up a proxy and has their users go to a different URL to get to QPA. UseActiveXForBulkLoading Specifies if Qvidian should use ActiveX automation for bulk loading operations. Value of "On" specifies that ActiveX automation is enabled. UseActiveXOfficeAutomation Specifies if Qvidian should use ActiveX for Office automation. Note that browser should have "unsafe scripting" enabled for ActiveX Office automation to be fully operational. Value of "On" specifies that ActiveX automation is enabled. UseDocTypeCategoryFilters Specifies whether to display the Category filter for document types. UseDocTypeFileTypeFilters Specifies whether to display the file type filter for document types. UseOfficeClipboardForPowerPointContent Specifies if the Office clipboard should be used for Save to clipboard operations. The "On" setting will leave PowerPoint open following a Save to clipboard; "Off" will close PowerPoint and place the copied content onto the Windows clipboard. UseOfficeClipboardForWordContent Specifies if the Office clipboard should be used for "Save to clipboard" operations. 20 Windows clipboard. UserInactivityDisable Length of time, since the last login (in days) after which a user account will be disabled in QPA. A value of 0 means no expiration. 0 Notes: When users are deactivated, they no longer access QPA and it frees up their license. UserInactivityDisableInterval Sets the default interval of days to send notification for UserInactivityDisable setting. Ex. 5,10,15,20,25. 0 Notes: When users are deactivated, they no longer access QPA and it frees up their license. UserInactivityLock Length of time, since the last login (in days) after which a user account will be locked out of QPA. A value of 0 means no expiration. 0 UserInactivityLockInterval Sets the default interval of days to send notification for UserInactivityLock setting. Ex. 5,10,15,20,25. 0 VerboseAppErrorMode Specifies if exception information displayed in the Qvidian application error page is verbose or minimal. Value of "On" will include detailed exception information including full stack trace and request parameters; "Off" will display minimal exception information. WindowSize This is the maximum size (in characters) of search terms stored WordStartupInstalled If ActiveX is not enabled, this flag indicates if the users will have installed the Qvidian Word template into the Startup folder.
