2 How to Set up Your Sales Funnel ver: 1.2 Buildabizonline.com The purpose of this manual is simply to show you how to set up a simple straightforward sales funnel using the Simpe Marketing Biz method. This is driven by Buildabizonline to promote two programs: 5 Dollar Wonder and My 795 Biz. This can be done for free and this is a totally free product. Please note: This is a real system that requires some work. It has been made very easy, anyone can do it and it will not take hours to do but we are NOT in magic button land! 3 How This Works and Why The first thing to do is to understand that what I am showing you here is not rocket science. Successful marketing depends on getting the important little bits correctly in place and that isn't always easy to do. There are some real problems with some of the traditional marketing methods now in today's internet marketing world and it's not because they have always been wrong, it's simply that things are changing all the time and something that worked a couple of years back just may not work in the same way today. Two common examples are Traffic Exchange and Safelist advertising, - still big, still work but only when you get things right and on a scale that you can keep up with! - that's the bit they often don't tell you, you have to think big! So, bearing all that in mind and also that this system was developed primarily for people starting out that will be familiar with using Viral List Builders, Traffic Exchanges, Safelists and the like, what is actually different about this method? Well, after a lot of experimentation I have found a formula that keeps all the critical bits in place but removes some of the problems with traditional methods: Here's an example: You sign up for somebody's free report or ebook from an attention grabbing splash page that you came across somewhere or another and you get a replicated web page that you are convinced will give you the high conversion rates the person that showed you their page was surely getting. If you're lucky you'll be able to put your picture on the site as well (branding.) You read the report and think that it sounds very good but contains little you don't already know or haven't tried. After sending out a few safelist s or using a few hundred (or even thousand!) traffic exchange credits you see you have loads of hits but nobody actually signs up! - sound familiar! Let's look at what's actually going on here: Firstly, it's quite possible that the person whose site you visited is having little success also 3

4 and is trying in just the same way you are.. remember, they probably didn't write the sales copy either. The person who did write the copy has been promoting this perhaps for several weeks or even months and as it is most probably a 'show how' product rather than a system, most people on the site where you are promoting will have already seen it. Add to this all the other factors that people tend not to think about: The experienced marketer does things on a big scale, most 'newbies' don't appreciate this, he might be only getting 2 or 3 sign ups a day but in one day he might have his site shown ten times as much as yours! Most people on that site are looking for ways of getting traffic to their site, does the thing you are putting in front of them help them in that cause? Most likely there was a free option and an upgrade when you signed up, - did you take the upgrade or did you think hmm, - 'not sure I can afford yet another one right now?' Believe me, you are not alone in this one, most copycat site upgrades come with a 'one time offer' and it's always worth taking, - trouble is, what it means quite often is that as a free product what you have got might actually be quite useless. This is where my Simple Marketing Biz is different. For a start what is being offered is not only this report but the programs and means to form the actual marketing system. There is a small cost for a couple of the programs but this shouldn't stop you going ahead. The tools you use to set this up are all free, and work well at their free level. Which brings me to the next point: You start simple with a standard template set up, but because you are doing most of this yourself you can build in your own branding. The whole thing is very versatile and you just have to go through one basic learning curve, - and I promise you, it ain't that steep! So how do we make money while building our list? This is the bit that people don't always get. Remember I said you need to think big, it's no good just advertising in 3 or 4 places with just a few free credits on sites that allow you to send mail once a week, or put your site in rotation for about an hour before you run dry of 4

5 credits. Doing it this way will take forever so the emphasis has to be on upgrading in many of these free advertising programs, that's where the real weight comes in. But, you can't afford to start out like that, you have to be making money while you are building your business and putting it back into your advertising budget, - it's called growth! We all know this deep down but very few seem to get this in motion. You need to be able to offer something of obvious high value at a snip of the real value, that your prospects are going to both want and need. Introducing two programs: My795Biz and 5 Dollar Wonder Both of these offer something slightly different, you need to really be in both so that your prospects will have the same opportunity to join both that you had. I'm not going to go over the benefits of them both again here you can visit the sites from the web page you were directed to after you got this report, but I will point out that you will not only get a product package that you can resell with the site for 100% profit, but you will actually want to use these resources over time to build your business further. Nearly everyone who buys the product package goes on to get their My795Biz site set up as it is offered as part of the deal. You don't have to do this;- you can just buy the package, but it would be silly not to take advantage. So, just as you did, people that visit your landing page will be curious to see what's on offer and you will be able to convert a high number of these visitors into sales. 5 Dollar Wonder offers a similar scenario to My795Biz but as a very low cost monthly payment plan and with a residual monthly income paid directly to you. It's easy with no fuss, no waiting for commission payments etc. All you have to do is get your sales funnel set up. This does take a little time, Rome wasn't build in a day. However, I am talking about an hour or two, not days with endless problems and bits you can't figure out. 5

6 To get this far you obviously have the little understanding that's required..so DON'T QUIT! So now, it's time. The rest of this guide shows you step b y step you exactly how. 5 Step Outline There are just five steps you need to take to get this system up and running. This is the basic outline. The steps are then covered in detail. 1. You will need to join the programs. There are five, three are free to join and the other two are the low cost ones already mentioned. You join from the program page of the person that sent you here. Joining takes just a few minutes. 2. You need to build a basic Lead capture page. This is a simple landing page that is going to contain your autoresponder form. I'm sure you'll have heard of this. We are going to use the Weebly website builder to do this quickly and easily. 3. Next, using Listwire you can make a basic subscription form and create some follow up messages. Probably the trickiest part but don't worry, I show you exactly how to do this. 4. You now add in your Simple Marketing pages to link to your Lead capture page. You will need to edit the links on the program page so that they are your links which you will now have from the programs you just joined 5. The final step is to tie it all together which basically means test and tweak what you've got and add in anything you might have missed or want to change. Important Note: 1 Although I strongly recommend joining the associated income programs it is quite possible to apply these principles to other programs if you are already having success with them, you will see how to do this from your member's area inside Buildabizonline (BABO) Equally, you can do this for yourself using a different autoresponder or website builder if 6

7 you know how to transfer the skills and adapt for those programs. Just be sure to stick to the flow of detail. Important Note: 2 This is intended to be a very direct, specific but basic guide to getting a sales funnel set up quickly and effectively. To get more detail and full instructions about using two of the free programs you can follow these links: Step 1: Weebly: weebly.com/training-videos Listwire Manual: Join the System Programs There really is no point in not joining all of these, you are going to need them and as explained, three of them are free. You join these programs from the page that sent you here. It should be something like the original prototype page shown below, although the beauty of this system is that people can customise it and so the page you were shown might look slightly different. Click the links and perform a basic sign-up for each program. If things are really tight and you really don't feel you can commit at this stage I would suggest that you might have a bit of a problem with this whole online thing!.. you can get away with joining just one of the income programs for now but you're going to be missing out! Don't forget that all the programs will require you to click the activation link in the confirmation before you can use them. You DON'T need to rejoin any if you are already a member, you'll just need your affiliate links. 7

8 The page that you were sent to should look something like this. Click each 'Visit the site' link to join. Step 2: Build Your Lead Capture Page We are going to start with a Lead Capture page rather than a splash page because we want to capture a prospect's right from day one. When covering these points there is an important note to consider: These are definitive instructions for an exact way any 'newbie' can implement this in a fairly short time. You DON'T have to use these programs if you already have equivalent accounts elesewhere: Just apply the principles. 8

9 So, if you are a 'seasoned pro' you're probably not going to need the help of this book, however, you may still find all this very interesting! You are going to need to get an account with a website builder/hosting program. We use this program because it's free, very intuitive and frankly, just good. Once you have your account you can get straight in there to start building a website. There is loads you can do with Weebly websites, but here I am just concerned with showing you how to create an effective squeeze page. A Lead capture page (squeeze page) is just a simple page with your autoresponder form included. A splash page is one that leaves out the form and usually then connects directly to a pge containing it. This of course is also possible to add using this method. Once you've done one, you will easily see how you can quickly multiply your efforts. Once you have your account confirmed you need to fearlessly dive straight in and start building your first site. Don't be put off by the ease and speed by which Weebly takes you from one step to the next. Click on the Build my site link when you come to the window below. If you somehow miss it or don't see it, there should be a My sites tab in your menu, underneath there is an orange Add site button. Now, you need to create the basic one page site. There are just one or two things we need to think about right away. 9

10 Click on Add site and you will be shown the window below. You will be prompted to choose a theme for your site. It doesn't really matter at this stage what you choose, for this example I have chosen the first default theme shown. At any point in the future by clicking Design tab and then Change Theme you will be able to change the basic layout theme at the click of a button without disturbing any of your other settings. The important thing for a squeeze page is to choose something fairly plain. 10

11 You are going to need a name for your site. this will be what shows in the browser when people visit so pick something relevant. You probably should use the same or something close to the affiliate name you chose for your My795Biz or 5 Dollar Wonder if you have joined. If you have another umbrella business name then use that as long as it is topical to the Business we are building here. Examples could be: Your name, your name plus a description, eg. 'johnsmithbizinbox', or a descriptive catchy relevant title such as 'instantsiteprofits' etc. Or, just do something a bit related such as using the '795' prefix with your name, such as I have done in the following example. I have used a fictional name followed by 795 in this example. Pick 'Business' as a site category from the drop down menu. For the sub category select 'Online store' or 'other' then click Continue You now have the choice for your domain name: If you already have a name for your site with another hosting company click the bottom option shown below. You can also register a new name of your choice with Weebly but their domain prices are not the cheapest. So, Ideally you need to check the top box Use a subdomain of Weebly.com. NOTE: many people advise against this feeling it portrays an 'unprofessional' image. I say it doesn't greatly affect your credibility at all to start out this way. The core of our address will be: '.weebly.com/ ' You put your unique name before and page extension after. 11

12 There is one formatting restriction.. you can only insert the one word and it must be alpha/numerical with no spaces. This CAN be changed later. When you've done this you will be taken straight to the home page default setting. Your site name plus a few other details will appear as shown below. The first thing to do is scroll over the site text header and click to turn text off. 12

13 Then scroll to the right hand top corner of the header image and click the icon. from the drop down, select no header You can do this at any time from the admin panel but it's easier to do it now from here. Your page will now look similar to above. To remove the social icon interface you'll need to scroll over the icons to display the editing box. You can turn off the button displays from the pop up window that appears. (I advise removing these for now, you can add them back at a later date when you know what you are doing but right now they may just cause an unnecessary distraction for your pospects.) You are now ready to start dropping content to your page but before you do it's worth getting familiar with your editing panel. 13

14 There are two menus that work together to cover everything as shown here Clicking on the Build tab displays the icons shown in the left hand bar. They are self explanatory, - nothing has been missed out. You can drag 'n' drop any icon where you will then be able to add the relevant content. The icons at the top merely jump to the section, ie; structure, media, commerce etc. The Design tab displays the options for changing the theme, colours, master font etc. The Pages tab takes you to the overview edit of your site's page structure. This is 14

15 explained in more detail on the next page. The Settings tab allows you to enter or alter master information. Now click on the Pages tab along the top menu bar to get to the main pages editing panel. This next screen shot example below shows the pages I built in one of my test sites. NOTE: It is best to create a new page other than the home page so you can use the site for other projects you may want to sell under the same brand name: Eg. The full URL for an example page would be: 15

16 Now you need to do the following: 1. Click on Add page and give it an extension name, 2. Click on the content area box third along that shows no header space 3. Check the Hide page in navigation menu box, this ensures the page is not directed to from other parts of the site. If you get to putting a lot of products together you may, or may not want this to be the case. It can be unchecked at any time. 4. When you are done click Save & Edit. You are now ready to put the pieces of your page together. All you need to do now is add the content. For a basic Squeeze or 'Lead Capture' page that is going to be a header, basic text and images and, most importantly, your auto responder form. There are several ways you can add content to your page, you can be creative but for now I advise following the template below as closely as you can. This is an exact easy way you can build a page. Take note of how the prototype example shown below has been made up. 16

17 Now, to build this page you need to drag and drop the various widgets in to place before adding content. The graphic below shows how this is done. BUT, there is something else you need to understand. We want to divide our page into sections so that we can put different components into different areas of the page without the spacing looking silly! (something that you can't get right with many website builders!) Weebly makes this easy! If you look at our page it is basically two rows of three columns. I can't show you the exact screenshot of how this looks because as soon as you move the cursor the blue placeholder images disappear. This is how this page actually divides into sections. 17

18 What you need to do is drag the Columns widget to your page first. Set it for 3 columns and then you drag into those columns the widgets for whatever you require. Here is the same image again indicating which widgets I used to form this page All the images can be dragged and dropped into place or you can upload in the conventional way. You should have received a resource file with this ebook but the images are also available from the resource page at: 18

19 Click anywhere inside the area and you are given the option to drag and drop an image or upload from your computer. Do either / or, and the image will appear on your page You will have realised that you cannot add the html to the 'Embed code' widget at this stage because you haven't yet created your autoresponder form! Adding a contact form is covered in the next section. Don't wory, you can add it then. You should at this point now publish your site to save the page (don't worry if you think it may need more editing.) you will always be given the option to now buy your domain name without the 'Weebly' branding. You could do this at any point if you wish but as mentioned previously it's really not necessary at this stage. Your page is now live. If you wanted to make this into a splash page you would simply link the page to another page that contained your autoresponder form. If you want to link an image to make it clickable it's also quite easy: 19

20 In this example I have built another page using my '795' header banner Click on the image to reveal the floating image edit window. Click the Link button and enter your target url in the pop up window, check box and save. 20

21 Widgets: You build your page using these widgets as explained but always remember formatting is going to be important. Here is a close shot of the widget panel In this following example I have dragged the Columns widget over first and set for two columns. You can the drag a Text widget and an Embed code widget to add text and your autoresponder form code to produce an image similar to the example below 21

22 The example above is a specific lead capture page for My795Biz, for my Simple Marketing Biz front end I built another lead capture page that contains a different autoresponder form with different follow up s. As you grow it's up to you how you configure this. Another alternative is to use your BABO programs page and promote your Simple Marketing Lead Capture and another opportunity such as My795Biz! This way you are bound to get a prospect interested in at least one opportunity and you can promote both from one page. There are lots of ways to do this but stick to getting the one page up and running then you can tweakand test with other pages. When somone signs up they are taken to your SimpleMarketing intro page which is a straightforward replicated page except again, YOU are going to build this into YOUR site. We cover this in step 4. Step 3. Create Your Subscription Form and add Follow up You should easily be able to see now how you can build a variety of simple pages using Weebly, but of course to add your Autoresponder lead capture form and turn your page into a list building squeeze page you are going to need to be able to place the html code for the form on your page. If this is alien to you don't worry, Weebly makes it easy! Once you have created your Autoresponder form you should also add some follow up messages. I am going to be quite blunt here, - This is the longest part, - we've tried to make this easy but there's no substitute for just getting to grips with a marketing tool you are going to be using a lot. 22

23 Again, if you already have tan autoresponder you want to use simply follow the same rules for adding your 'form code' using the embed code widget. You get your free autoresponder from Listwire. It is a totally free tool that doesn't have some of the hang ups other similar free tools sometimes present. It is plenty versatile enough to be able to build and manage quite sizeable lists and deliverability is quite sound. This is what you need to do to use Listwire to build your basic form and follow up. 1. Once you have created your account click on the manage autoresponders link towards the top left of the page. You will have been given a default AR with your username. This will show in the drop down menu top right. This is NOT the one you want to be using. Click on Click Here to Add New Autoresponder List 23

24 2. You now need to fill in some basic Autoresponder details. Give it a name and description relating to your business. Your default autoresponder name will show in the drop down menu until you have more than just that one created. The example above shows one I created for 'My795Biz' Click on Click Here To Create Your Autoresponder. You will be shown this error message asking you to enter a valid postal address. 24

25 Don't worry about this, just scroll down to the form fields and enter the necessary information. Once done you will get the 'success' thumbs up and can proceed. The only different thing you need to enter here is the confirm redirect URL. This is where someone will be taken as soon as they sign up. IMPORTANT: You haven't actually made the web page for this confirm redirect URL yet because you haven't created the page! - that comes in the next step. This doesn't matter because you can still enter the page extension you are going to create and then make sure when you make the page you use that exact extension name. Example: You will have picked a name for your Weebly site that might relate to 'Simple Marketing', or in my case 'My795 Biz' as I actually crteated this business first. Or, you might have chosen 'Your own name' as a domain name - (you can't really go wrong with that!) Whatever you chose in the last step will be your raw URL with the Weebly extension built in. Eg: All you do here is enter the page extension which should be just 'simplemarketing' with no spaces. Eg: This page will be unique to you, no one else will share this URL If you do change your mind or want to use something else you can always alter it later. 25

26 Once you have the basic information in place we can continue. (Don't forget to click the update button every time you make a change.) 3. Now, click on manage autoresponders, make sure it is showing the A/R you just created checked. Click on the prospects tab and then the subscription form sub-tab. You will be shown the option below. Click on Click Here to Add Web Form Add that same URL we just talked about to the Form Redirect URL field and enter a name for your form as suggested..(this doesn't matter too much at this stage.) 26

27 Click Next page or Content to start putting the fields into your form. This is how it will look. You can of course add whatever you want but really, the standard 'Name and ' is all you require. You can add a header/footer comment where it says Click here to alter this text or you can remove the field. I suggest just something like 'Please enter your details below' or 'To find out more'. When you're done, save the form. You should get the 'thumbs up' and your form will appear in your completed forms list. To the right of this list are four links: edit getcode preview delete. This is where you mange all the changes from. 27

28 You can click on the get code link and you will be shown the raw html code for your form. This is what you will copy and paste to your web page to display the form. Your Autoresponder is now created and ready for content to be added. NOTE: I will show you how to use this code in the final step 'Tying it all together' Add Follow Up Listwire makes it quite easy to add your follow up messages. A lot of the mandatory requirements have been filled in for you. NOTE: There is some help with this in the 'SMB.resources.files' you got with this guide Go to the top menu bar and click on Messages then Verification message. Read the instructions on the page before following. Pick a title from the drop down menu, I like ones that use the word 'information' and the prospect's first name which will be added for you automatically. There is no rule about this, choose as you wish. You need to create a short personal message that will introduce yourself and the sytem 28

29 and lead in to the automatic text shown below. When you are done scroll to the bottom and click Update your Verification Message for this account You now need to add a series of follow up messages that will be sent out automatically over a predefined period of time after someone has signed up. NOTE: This is a whole subject by itself and is something you should try and learn how to constantly add to and improve. To get your Autoresponder started correctly you MUST give this Ebook manual out as a free product as soon as the prospect has confirmed. Because this is so important I have provided basic copy and instructions with the link included. It's important to get this right. 29

30 Take a look at the screen shot below. This is an example taken from my 'My795Bizz' autoresponder. There are a few options and things you need to get right. - When you've done it once you'll soon get the hang of it. Subject Tags: There is a dropdown menu of options. I prefer always to use someone's first name. %firstname_fix% will ensure that the prospect's first name is always inserted correctly in the body text. Click Insert Tag to place it into the body text editor. Personal Merge Tags: These are a way of inserting preset tags that link to something relating to you. ie: you might define 'URL1' as your home page, you can select URL 1 from the drop down and the correct link will be inserted. I am not going to cover this any further here as you don't need this in order to set your autoresponder up for use. You can find out more from the replication tab in the top menu. 30

31 Subject lline and Text Body Tags are self-explanitory. Now scroll down to Message Format and select the option that gives you the most advanced combination of text and HTML structured formatting. It's best to do this because you are going to ensure that all accounts on all platforms will be able to read your message. Both windows will open with HTML at the bottom. You will need to copy/paste your message text into both editing windows. Message Interval is simply the day from subscription, so '0' means it will be sent right away, '1' would mean 24 hours later etc. Save your first message and it will appear in your follow up messages list as shown below. To create more messages simply repeat the procedure. 31

32 Step 4: Build in your 'Linking' Pages This is very easy to do using Weebly. But here is an important point: There is more than one way you can do this In fact, there are several ways you may wish to develop this, remember it's Your site and it's Your business. However, to start with I suggest keeping it simple and using the basic templates I've set up for you. We need to make 2 pages, a Simple Marketing Biz main page that people will be sent to as soon as they fill out your form (the 'confirm redirect' and 'confirm form redirect' URL), and your Programs joining page which will be directly linked to the first page. Doing this in Weebly is as easy as it gets. It takes just a few minutes once you get the hang of it., (I am able to do this from scratch in less than ten minutes to give you an idea.) The great thing about doing it this way is that it works instantly and is all easy to change if you make a mistake. I have already shown you how to create a new page so these are the steps you need to take for building these two pages: 1. Add a new page to your site and give it the page extension /simplemarketing as explained in the last section when you created the redirect links for your subscription form Make sure you check the no header and hide page in navigation boxes as shown. 32

33 2. Open your new page. You are going to need to drag and drop 3 widgets onto the page. First,drag an Image widget to the header position. Then drag an Embed code widget followed by a Button widget. 3. Open the file you got with this instruction manual. It should be labelled. 'SMB.resource.files.' If you have mislaid it you can re-download from here Drag a 'header' image into the image widget place holder, - remember you should have no header appearing on your site automatically so that you have the choice of adding this image as a header wherever and whenever you want without it affecting other pages. Open the document labelled 'SMB.home.page.text.source.rtf' and copy and paste this into the Embed code widget. This is the raw html, you don't need to change anything and so when you click away the text should just form in place. Finally, in the Button widget at the bottom of your page you need to format a simple button clicking the button icon image to alter the text to 'Next step'. Centre the button, choose a style and click the Link box at the top of the editing window shown above. 33

34 You will then see the image below. You need to type in your site address including ' and add the page extension 'smbprograms' with no spaces. Leave the 'Open link in new window' box unchecked, and save. 4. Publish the page and dismiss the option box that always pops up to get another domain. Your page is now live. NOTE: If you have chosen a different page style from the one I show as an example throughout most of this guide, then your page is going to format slightly differently, this doesn't matter. The html codes will always format to the preset design for that particular Weebly site template. If you want to change any of this you need to go to the design tab and alter the various options. For now, I would only bother if you really aren't happy with how it looks. 34

35 Now you need to make your programs page. Do this as before giving it the page extension /smbprograms. This will ensure it links from the button on the page you just made. There are a couple of things that you are going to need to do slightly differently. You are going to need 3 widgets, Image, Title and Embed code Create the header exactly as before using an Image widget To preserve the colour of the heading text I have not included this in the html code document. You need to drag a Title widget and type the header and format as you wish. You need to open the text document labelled 'SMB.programs.page.text.source.rtf 'and go through the links which should show as highlighted, and change them to your own This is important otherwise people aren't going to be sent to your programs page. When you've done this copy and paste this text into the Embed code widget as you did for the text on the previous page. 35

36 Once this is in place your page should be finished and format something like the original. When done don't forget to to publish your page. Do this every time you make a change. 36

37 Step 5: Tying It All Together You're nearly done and ready to go but there are a few checks we have to make before we go completely live. Let's recap on what we've done. You have joined the system programs Built a squeeze / Lead capture page Attached an autoresponder form with at least some follow up s added Built a main page for your Simple marketing Biz and a Programs page with your links included. You now need to go back over and check that things actually work, and add in any page linking etc. that isn't quite right. These are the checking steps you need to take: 1. Have you joined all the programs? You should join all to give yourself the best chance of success, especially as 3 of them are free! 2. Are you happy with your Domain name? The good thing about Weebly is that you can change things very easily, it's a good thing to get your domain name as you want it right now before you start promoting it will require a lot more work to change everything further down the line. If you do change it you must alter everywhere it appears in what we've done so far. 3. Does your squeeze page look good? Are you happy with everything? Does the form sit well on the page? 4. Did you add your html code for your autoresponder form to your squeeze page? If not you need to go in and do it! 5. Test the form by filling out yourself and seeing if you get the first immediately Does the confirmation process lead you to your Simple Marketing Biz main page? Don't worry If not, this is a common error. You will be presented with other offers through 37
