It is an international organization with dozens of chapters across the U.S. It is not a dating club, but is meant to provide a camping club for single RVers to enjoy the companionship of people with like interests. Campouts are scheduled each month and are attended by chapter members, guests and LOW members from other chapters. The cost varies with each campground, but the club has negotiated a significantly reduced rate and that rate is usually extended for a day or two before and after the scheduled campout. The chapter usually provides some meals. We usually go out to dinner one evening, and have a potluck on one other. This is a very active group that enjoys a wide variety of activities including sightseeing, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, games and cards, entertainment and dancing. The Following is a list of the next few events scheduled that you might be interested in: 49ers Annual Encampment at Death Valley: the second full week of November-Pre-Encampment Sunday-Tuesday and Encampment Wednesday- Sunday. We plan to leave the Ranch in Deming right after the fall rally (Nov 1). We will try to find parking spots at Furnace Creek s Sunset Campgrounds or right next to it in the overflow parking area. Anyone interested in joining us, please contact me ( ); if you want to travel with us, I can give you our travel route so you can join up with us along the way or look for us at the Campgrounds. There will be a large LoW Flag flying in front of my rig. Please come join us-it looks to be a great time and comradery. The winter encampment at the Slabs in California: Slab Lows is located within Slab City, 3 miles east of Niland CA. Slab Lows is open from Nov. 1 to March 15. Camping is free. Chapter dues are $15.00/season. We have established a clean, safe camping area with four permanent trailers: kitchen, TV/game room/workshop/ library and post office/card room. We have garbage and recycling, Wi-Fi ($) a post office box (P.O. Box 190, Niland CA 92257) and an address for FedEx and UPS (200 Edith Lane, Niland CA Field trips, Boondocking help and RV repair help might be offered. As our guest you are welcome to use any of our facilities. We can meet you in Niland and escort you to our site. For more information contact John at jpschreiter@gmail.com Quartzsite: The Quartzsite gathering is about 7 miles north of Quartzsite on Hwy 95 then turn right on Plomosa Rd (this is a BLM area). Go about 2-3 miles on Plomosa Rd. and watch for the LoW sign. That is how members find the spot. Most of us look for other LoW members in that area, then we know we are there. It is in the same area as the WINS, SI and other groups. National Rallies: These are held twice a year in Deming NM during the last week of October and March. Information and registration forms are on the website under Events. As a member of LOW you may attend the activities of any chapter in the U. S and all of the special rallies that are planned a cross the country each year. Generally members join the chapters in which they are the most active. As a member of LOW, you will begin to receive the e-newsletter every other month and a schedule of events for each chapter nationwide is printable from the Chapters page of the website. If you wish to schedule your campouts as you travel, there is a Camping Calendar with all the chapter campouts listed by date for you to use on the Chapters page of the website. I do hope that you will join us. Just fill out the application form enclosed. LOW is all about: new places, new activities and, best of all, new friends.
