3 Import The first step to installing any managed solution in Microsoft Dynamic CRM is to locate the file you want to install, download it and place it on your computer. In this instance, you would go to the PowerMailChimp webpage, click on Download Solution and save the file in a convenient place on your computer. After you re done with that, log in to your Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 as a System Administrator or System Customizer you must have administrative privileges. Navigate to Settings > Solutions and click on Import. The next window that opens will let you browse for the solution you are importing navigate to the file, select it and click next.

4 The next screen that opens up will show the Name / Publisher / Package Type of the solution you are installing. This screen should show PowerMailChimp from PowerObjects. Click next, and make sure to check the Activate all processes checkbox, and click next IMPORTANT: If you do not check this box, the add-on WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY!

5 A green progress indicator will display while the solution imports. Once the solution is done importing, you will see a screen like the one below. The yellow bar along the top indicates that your solution has imported successfully. Click Close.

6 Registration In the Solutions Window, double click on PowerMailChimp. Fill in your information and click Submit. Be patient while the information is submitted. Configuration Next, go to the setup tab and add your MailChimp API key. Double click in the value column of the API Key and enter your MailChimp API key. The MarketingListSynchDuration field is set (by default) to 30. This means that if you send out a PowerMailChimp blast, and the marketing list that the blast is being sent to has not been synced in the past 30 minutes, the list will sync, automatically, right before the blast is sent out. If you d like to change this value, you can, but most users do not update that field. Click Save and then close the window.

7 Where can I find my MailChimp API Key? Login to your MailChimp account, and click on the name of your account. Then click on Account Settings > Extras > API Keys: If you do not have an API key click on Create a Key. Once you have that key on your clipboard, paste it into the value column next to API Key in the Set-up Tab of the PowerMailChimp solution by using Ctrl + V. Security Roles After you import PowerMailChimp, you will notice three new security roles in your CRM. The PowerMailChimp Read-only user security role is meant to be assigned to any CRM user who would like to see the

8 PowerMailChimp blasts and statistics, but won t have access to edit/update/delete the PowerMailChimprelated entities. The PowerMailChimp user security role will give users full access to the PowerMailChimp functionality, including sending out blasts, and anything else related to PowerMailChimp. The PowerMailChimp Service User security role should be assigned to the person whose CRM login information is entered in the configuration screen, if that user is not a system administrator. The PowerMailChimp Do not allow Send and Schedule Blast security role is meant to restrict users from being able to send a PowerMailChimp blast. They can create and save the blast, but not actually send it out. The System Administrators will automatically see PowerMailChimp in their left navigation. Setting User Defaults PowerMailChimp allows Administrators to restrict access to specific MailChimp template folders and MailChimp lists per CRM user. To limit which MailChimp template folders or Lists a user has access to, simply open the user record and type in the name of the template folder and/or MailChimp list that the user should have access to (from the CRM side) in the appropriate field. If the user needs access to more than one template folder or MailChimp list, please enter each folder/list on its own line. If there is nothing entered in these two fields on the user record, the user will, by default, have access to all templates/template folders, and have privileges to sync to all MailChimp lists.

9 Template Folders When creating your templates in MailChimp, you can choose to put the templates into folders, to help organize them. You can then choose to restrict access by CRM user, to which template folders the user can choose templates from when creating a PowerMailChimp blast inside of CRM. MailChimp Lists In MailChimp, it is best practice to have just one list that you will be syncing all of your CRM marketing lists to. However, if for any reason it makes sense for your company to have multiple lists in MailChimp, you can choose to restrict which MailChimp lists CRM users can sync their marketing lists to.

10 Uninstalling PowerMailChimp To uninstall PowerMailChimp, first delete any PowerMailChimp Blasts you created. Then uninstall as usual, by deleting the solution. Deleting the solution will remove all records and activities associated with PowerMailChimp, including any PowerMailChimp activities. If you would like to keep this information in your system, you can simply unsubscribe in the configuration screen and leave the solution in your system. Thanks for your interest in PowerMailChimp.
