2 Welcome to the CIMS Login Quick Guide. The purpose of this guide is to provide step-by-step directions for logging in to CIMS, changing account information and retrieving passwords. In addition, the guide provides technical specifications for CIMS. 3 CIMS Login Guide (formerly known as SIP Online) To correspond with the platform s expansion, the name SIP Online will be changing to Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS). CIMS is not a new platform, and the interface will not change; however, a new URL and logo will be coming soon! The current address of the platform is (previously Logging in to CIMS 1) Upon navigation to this address, you will see the Home page. Click Login to sign in to the application. 2) Enter your address and password. [Your password is case-sensitive.] Then click the blue Sign in button. TIP: For first time users, a temporary password will be provided. It is highly recommended that you change your password after you log in. FDOE BSI 8/8/14 Page 2

4 After logging in, you will see a blue Flash Message that indicates you ve been signed in successfully, and you will be back at the Home page. NOTE: It is sometimes easy to miss the blue Flash Message. Consequently, when looking at the Home page, it may appear you re not logged in. You can confirm by the appearance of the Account option on the main menu bar. Changing Your Account Information Let s take a quick moment to look at how to change your account information. 1) Click Account in the menu bar. Then click Change Info. FDOE BSI 8/8/14 Page 3

5 2) In the user info form, you can change your address, correct any errors in your name, and change your password. Click the blue Update button to save any change(s). TIP: When changing your password, you must use a minimum of eight characters. You can use any combination of characters including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Forgot Your Password? 1) In the event that you forget your password, click the Forgot your password? link on the login screen. FDOE BSI 8/8/14 Page 4

6 2) You will enter your address and click the blue Send me reset password instructions button. NOTE: Depending on your system, it can take up to 30 minutes to receive an with instructions for resetting your password. If your system has strong filters in place, this message may end up in your junk mail or spam folder. You will see a blue Flash Message that tells you an with password reset instructions will be sent. You will then receive an similar to the one below. FDOE BSI 8/8/14 Page 5

7 Locked Out? An account becomes locked after six failed attempts to log in. If this happens to you, an will be sent immediately to you with a link to unlock the account right away (similar to password reset ), or the account will unlock automatically after one hour. 1) You can get the system to re-send the unlock by clicking the blue Didn't receive unlock instructions? link on the Login page. 2) Then enter your address (similar to password reset) and click the blue Re-send unlock instructions button. See Use of Mobile Devices We make every effort to ensure that content developed in the application is viewable on a variety of popular mobile devices, including phones and tablets running recent versions of the ios or Android operating systems. Content editing and other advanced features within the application are not supported on mobile devices at this time.
