1 Lakeland School System NEW STUDENT ONLINE ENROLLMENT New Student Enrollment for parents with an existing LSS Skyward Family Access account: Use this option if you already have students in the District and are enrolling a new/younger student (i.e., kindergarten student) into school. After logging into your Skyward Family Access account, choose New to District Enrollment in the left hand column. New Student / Family Enrollment for parents who DO NOT have an existing LSS Skyward Family Access account: Use this option when your family is new to the District and does not have a Family Access login. 1. Click HERE to request a login account using a valid address/phone number. 2. Your login and password will be sent to your address. 3. Use the link in the to login and begin the process. The will be sent from skyward@lakelandk12.org, be sure to add this address to your valid recipients to avoid it being affected by your spam filter. Continue through the steps as detailed in the remainder of this help document. Page 1

2 Login to your Skyward Family Access account. If you need your username and/or password, please contact your school s Attendance Office. Skyward Family Access uses pop-up windows. You may be prompted to allow pop-ups in your web browser. If needed, you may translate the entire registration system into a language other than English Click Select Language in the upper-right and click on the language. To turn OFF the translation, click on the X in the upper-right of a page being translated OR click SHOW ORIGINAL at the top of the page. The steps to complete for new student enrollment are displayed on one page. All steps must be completed in order. If you want to view a step, click the VIEW ONLY button. All uploading of ATTACHMENTS takes place in STEP 6: REQUESTED DOCUMENTS The ADDITIONAL DISTRICT FORMS step contains EIGHT additional forms to complete. Page 2

3 Continue through each step entering the requested information. It is very important that you frequently click the SAVE AND CONTINUE TO FILL OUT APPLICATION button. Your entries do NOT automatically save. When all information has been entered for this new student, click the SUBMIT APPLICATION TO THE DISTRICT button. If you have additional new students to enroll, you will then be given a link to do so. Page 3

4 STEP 1: Student Information When you are done with STEP 1, click COMPLETE STEP 1 AND MOVE TO STEP 2. Page 4

5 STEP 2: Family/Guardian Information If additional legal guardians live at this address, click the YES, I WANT TO ADD ANOTHER LEGAL GUARDIAN WHO LIVES AT THIS ADDRESS button. If not other legal guardians live at this address, click the button NO OTHER LEGAL GUARDIANS LIVE AT THIS ADDRESS. You will then be prompted to enter information for legal guardians that may live at a different address. When you are done with STEP 2, click COMPLETE STEP 2 AND MOVE TO STEP 3. Page 5

6 STEP 3: Medical / Dental Information Information here is limited. More complete information will need to be provided when completing the CONFIDENTIAL STUDENT HEALTH FORM in the final step of the enrollment process. When you are done with STEP 3, click COMPLETE STEP 3 AND MOVE TO STEP 4. STEP 4: Emergency Contact Information You can enter up to THREE emergency contacts. Emergency contacts should be 18 years or older. When you are done with STEP 4, click COMPLETE STEP 4 AND MOVE TO STEP 5. It is also suggested that you click the SAVE AND CONTINUE TO FILL OUT APPLICATION button at the top of the page. Page 6

7 STEP 5: Immunization Information Information here is limited. More complete information will need to be provided when providing the TN Department of Health Immunization Certificate in the final step of the enrollment process. When you are done with STEP 5, click COMPLETE STEP 5 AND MOVE TO STEP 6. STEP 6: Requested Documents You are not required to upload attachments but we strongly encourage you to do so. You can upload scanned documents and/or images/photos. Please make sure the document is fully legible and complete. Submitted documents will be reviewed by staff before approval. NOTE: Enrollment will not be processed until we have the required documentation delivered to the school. Any required documentation that is missing may delay enrollment. When you are done with STEP 6, click COMPLETE STEP 6 AND MOVE TO STEP 7. Page 7

8 STEP 7: Additional District Forms When you are done with STEP 7, click COMPLETE STEP 7. You should then be able to click the button SUBMIT APPLICATION TO THE DISTRICT as long as all previous steps have been completed. Page 8

10 THE SUMMARY PAGE: On the summary page you can start applications for additional students OR review applications already submitted to the district. You cannot edit an application that has been submitted. You can also UPDATE an application you have not yet completed. Page 10
