1 CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF WEST VIRGINIA PRESENTS THE 2013 TECHNICIAN & INSPECTOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING COURSES The CAWV is pleased to offer the Certification Training Courses which are offered annually to help individuals prepare for the West Virginia Division of Highways certification examinations that are required under their quality assurance program. Thousands of individuals have attended previous courses in the areas of Aggregates, Asphalt, Compaction and Portland Cement Concrete. Test comparisons prove that those persons attending the CAWV/WVDOH refresher courses have a higher success rate for passing the examination. Attached is the 2013 WVDOH Certification Training Course Schedule and Information sheet. The attached Schedule and Information sheet identifies all courses being offered, dates of training, and the dates that first and second exams will be conducted. TRAINING COURSE SCHEDULE AND INFORMATION Compaction Inspector (Form 1) January 7-10, 2013 (Test Jan 11) Aggregate Inspector (Form 2) January 14-17, 2013 (Test Jan 18) Asphalt Field Technician (Form 4) (new certification) January 22-24, 2013 (Test Jan 25) Asphalt Plant Technician (Form 5) January 28- January 31, 2013 (Test Feb 1) Portland Cement Concrete Inspector (Form 6) February 11-13, 2013 (Test Feb 14) Portland Cement Concrete Technician(Form 7) February 25-February 28, 2013 (Test March 1) (TESTING INFORMATION) *WVDOH CERTIFICATION EXAMS REGISTRATION INFORMATION Written examinations will be held on the last day of the training courses at Cedar Lakes. Registration: Those taking exams must be seated and ready to register 30 minutes prior to test starting time. For additional information, call Jim Lore at (304) The above courses will be held at Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia. Attendees are responsible for making all reservations for meals and lodging by calling Cedar Lakes at (304) Please make reservations as soon as possible. Directions to Cedar Lakes are enclosed as well. Additional lodging is available in Ripley, WV. Attendees will be furnished with manuals, handouts, workshop material and break refreshments as part of their registration fee. Participants are required to bring WVDOH Specification Books and are encouraged to bring Construction Manuals or any applicable ASTM or AASHTO Standard Manuals, calculators, pencils, note pads, straight edge and highlighters.

Course instructors consist of WV Division of Highways and Industry representatives. CAWV members: $160 per person and non-members: $225 per person. 4 (FORM 3) ASPHALT FIELD TECHNICIAN COURSE (NEW CERTIFICATION) JANUARY 22-25, 2013 AND THE ASPHALT PAVEMENT ASSOCIATION OF WEST VIRGINIA The course will begin with registration at approximately 7:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 22 and end upon completion of the test and compaction practical on Friday, January 25. Course instructors consist of WV Division of Highways, WVU and Industry representatives. Additional information of this new certification, including a complete agenda, can be found in the News section at CAWV, APAWV members and WVDOH employees: $160 per person and non-members: $225 per person. Fees cover costs of instruction, materials and breaks. Fees do not include cost for room and board. A three-day cancellation notice is required for a full refund if unable to attend course after registering. Turn left onto Rt. 21 at the bottom of the off ramp. Rt. 21 will take you under the Interstate. Go only about 150 ft. after passing under the Interstate to Route 25 (immediately across from the Go Mart). Turn right onto Rt. 25 at the Cedar Lakes sign. Once you are on Rt. 25 toward Cedar Lakes, you will pass a Burger King. It is 3.3 miles to Cedar Lakes. =========================================================== From I-77 North: Take I-77 North to the Fairplain / Cedar Lakes exit 132.
