1 SCC Blue Sombrero Quick Reference Guide Blue Sombrero is a website that hosts the registration for Space Coast Crew. A free website, it offers capabilities in registration, team set up, communications, website, newsletter and more. NOTE: The Blue Sombrero website is optimized for Google Chrome, Mozilla or Firefox and has poorer performance in Internet Explorer. Registration actions should not be completed on a phone, but on either a PC or tablet. Getting Started: Creating an Account 1 An account needs to be created to register rowers for the programs as well as access specific content. At the top of the webpage locate the Register button. 2 An account should be set up by the parent or guardian (over 18 years of age). This user can then add a secondary user and participants (rowers) to their account. User names can be addresses for ease of remembering. If you do forget your account name, contact SCC_membership@yahoo.com who can look up accounts, merge accounts and re-set passwords. 3 Accounts MUST be set up under the parent or guardian s name. The rower will be the participant added in the next step. Do not allow your child to set up the account under their name as the waivers all need to be accepted by the parent or guardian (over age 18). Be sure to enter the proper contact information and any secondary addresses to ensure coaches can contact families.

2 4 If the registrant is a coach or volunteer or adult rower, select the button that best describes you. This will allow you to skip certain steps if you do not have a child participant. 5 Each rower can be added to the account as participants more than one child can be added in the account. Be sure that the date of birth is correct since eligibility for programs is based on the age of the rower. (TIP: If you don t see any programs your rower is eligible in the next step go back and verify the date of birth)

3 6 Program information with show next based on eligibility by date of birth of participants. Please also not grade eligibility for programs. With more then one rower, these programs will show up for each athlete. You can select all that apply and then click on continue at the bottom of the page. For youth program team members, SCC Dues programs will show up three times throughout the season. Parents can use this to pay by credit card or continue to pay with check and/or offset by individual fundraisers.

4 7 The registration form will pop up with various fields to complete as well as waivers. Be sure all fields with red astricks are complete before continuing as they are required. Please note the question if you will be paying my credit card or check. Check payments remove the credit card fee. Please do not select check and then checkout with a credit card as SCC will be charged for that transaction fee. 8 The next page will ask the parent to select roles to volunteer for. This will let the Board of directors know who to reach out to in order to help for various activities and jobs throughout the seaon. Note: Please do not select coach or assistant coach as those are reserved for our coaches. Middle school team does not have any volunteer requirements.

5 9 The next page is a Dick s Sporting Goods Fanware store. Payments for Fanware go directly to Dicks and must be made with a credit card. Don t forget SCC also has some great gear we sell at our booster meetings and other opportunities. Simply click continue if you do not wish to make a purchase. 10 The next page will be the registration summary, provide an opportunity if you wish to make a tax deductible donation to the team and collect payment if paying by credit card. Select continue to finish the transaction.

6 11 On the payment page it will default to credit card. If you already selected that you are paying with a check, please do not process a credit card payment since it will be missing the processing fee. Simply change the drop down from credit card to check to continue. Checks can then be deposited in the black box in the boat house for our treasurer to process and mark payments in Blue Sombrero.

7 Continue through the steps until a popup window appears asking you if you want to complete your order. You will also receive an from Blue Sombrero indicating you have completed your order. Blue Sombrero Tips and Tricks There is a Dick s Sports Team HQ App that can be found in the Itunes store. Sign into the app with the same account created in Blue Sombrero to see team rosters and contact information for your rower Registration and contact information can be updated from My Account page in the website by clicking on the in the participant row. Select edit registration info.
