3 Befre Yu Arrive On Campus Review MCG laptp requirements G t Ensure yur laptp meets the requirements listed. Register fr a Technlgy Orientatin Sessin Attendance is MANDATORY. G t Please read the registratin Instructins prvided in yur GuideBk. Check yur NetID Find yur net ID and address in the campus eguide. Search fr yur name. Yur net ID is that part f yur address befre Example: dsmalley@augusta.edu has a net ID f dsmalley. Passwrd must cntain: One uppercase letter One lwercase letter One number OR ne special character D nt use symbl Yur passwrd is gd fr 180 days. Yu will be ntified via utlk 2 weeks and again 1 week in advance t change yur passwrd. If yu d nt change yur passwrd yur accunt will becme lcked and a call t the Service Desk will be required t unlck yur accunt. Secure Mbile Devices Read the Mbile Device Encryptin & Cmpliance Plicy and use the instructins t ensure yur mbile devices (smart phne, tablet, ipad, etc) are in cmpliance. 5 Campus Sftware Required Nte: The I.T. team will be available t help yu install required sftware if yu re unable t install it yurself ff-campus. Dwnlad Symantec EndPint Prtectin (net ID and passwrd required) Once yu lgin t the website, chse the Unmanaged versin specific t yur Operating System. Yur cmputer has antivirus prtectin with definitins n mre than tw weeks ld befre yu can cnnect t the campus wireless netwrk. Office 365 NetID and passwrd required. If yu already have Micrsft Office installed n yur cmputer but wuld prefer Office 365 yu will need t first uninstall Micrsft Office befre prceeding with the update. If yu wuld rather wait until yu arrive n campus t d this please d s. Adbe Reader Adbe Flash Player Ggle Chrme Required if yu have a Windws 8 cmputer. Recmmended EndNte sftware is nt required; hwever, many students have fund it very helpful. EndNte is available frm the I.T. Service Desk lcated in the Educatin Cmmns building. Nte: EndNte is available nly fr registered students. Once a student has graduated r transferred, the sftware can n lnger be btained frm the University. 6 Once Yu Have Arrived On Campus fr the Technlgy Orientatin Wireless Netwrk Prepare yur laptp fr use with the campus secure wireless netwrk, GR-Secure. The I.T. Help Desk staff will be available t help Windws users install the NAC Agent required t cnnect t the netwrk. Nte that the NAC Agent sftware is required nly fr Windws users. Prir t attempting t cnnect t the GR-Secure wireless netwrk, yu will need t cnfirm the fllwing: Yu have a current netid. Yur cmputer has antivirus prtectin with definitins n mre than tw weeks ld. ExamSft SfTest Examinatin Sftware Yu will receive an with instructins t guide yu thrugh creating an Exam Taker user accunt and installing SfTest n the Exam Taker accunt. Lk fr an titled smething similar t Exam Taker Accunt Creatin and SfTest Installatin. Technlgy Orientatin team members will assist yu with installing SfTest and shwing yu hw it wrks. Yu must use a wired cnnectin (i.e., cnnectin via ethernet cable) t cmplete all exams delivered in SfTest. Yu are required t have a CAT 6 netwrk cable fr testing. 7 Turning Technlgies RespnseWare (Audience Respnse System) Yu will be required t purchase a 4-year license f RespnseWare. Yu will use this sftware t participate in interactive Q&A sessins during yur class lectures. The cst is apprximately $ Yu will be given instructins n the day f rientatin fr signing up fr a Turning Accunt License and purchasing a RespnseWare license. IMPORTANT: After purchasing the license, an will be sent t the address used t register with the license key infrmatin. Please save this . D2L Brightspace Learning Management System D2L Brightspace is the campus learning management system where mst f yur curse cntent, assignments, and materials will reside.
