1 *** Apple Mac Mail Warning *** It has been found that Apple Mac Mail becomes unreliable and has been known to 'lose' and cause errors due to database corruption once the database grows to over ~1.5GBs. Once this happens, the only recourse is to delete all of the messages from Mac Mail and redownload them from the server. Due to this issue the IT department strongly recommends not using Apple Mac Mail as your client for OIST . Therefore, please refer to the appropriate section below accordingly. After configuring the POP/IMAP Server, configure the SMTP server as described below. Note: Please be informed that another mail box will be created upon changing the configuration from POP Server to IMAP Server. Configuration of Mail.app differs by Mac OS X versions.
