1 QUANTUM NET ENHANCED USERS VERSUS STANDARD USERS ENHANCED USERS The Enhanced User module allows you to create QNet users that login with just their address and password, that can change their own passwords (optional) and that do not loose the contents of their shopping cart every time they leave a QNet site. It also contains the Self-Registration feature which allows people to create their own QNet users. BENEFITS AN ENHANCED USER STANDARD USERS A person must know the Client ID from Quantum, the Ship-To ID from Quantum, the username designated by distributor and the password designated by distributor in order to log-in. If a user places items in the cart and closes the window, the cart will be empty upon their return. The user must specify the location every time they drop-ship an order. The user must contact the distributor if they want to change their password. ENHANCED USERS A person must know his or her address and the password designated by distributor in order to log-in. The user s shopping cart is saved when exiting the site. QNet remembers the user s last drop-ship location. User can change his or her own password (Optional) HOW TO CREATE AN ENHANCED USER Log-in as the Administrator of a QNet site.

2 Click on Administration in the header. Click on New User. Set the User Type to Enhanced. Type the address. All other user settings (name, password, group, etc ) need to be set as usual. Click on the Close button on the upper left to save. HOW TO LOGIN AS AN ENHANCED USER

3 Unlike a standard user who must remember the client ID and ship to ID setup in Quantum in order to login to a site, an enhanced user only needs remember his or her own address and password. You can get an enhanced user login page from our graphics department by ing graphics@e-quantum.com. An enhanced user login page only has two fields: and password. SELF REGISTRATION The Enhanced User module also allows you to create a self-registering QNet site. You can do this by creating a user of type Master. Once created, people can use this master user as a portal for self-registration. They will use the master username and password for their initial log-in and then they will be asked to register. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SELF-REGISTERING QNET SITES AND QSTORES People often confuse self-registering QNet sites and QStore sites. SELF REGISTERING QNET SITE Users must know master username and password before entering Users can belong to different cost centers or ship-to s You can give individual users Q-STORE (RETAIL STORE) Open to the general public All users belong to cost center RETAIL All users will have the same settings

4 different settings and permissions Users can have allowances You can set item restrictions on an individual user Reports can be run by cost center and by user and permissions You cannot give retail users an allowance All userss will have access to the same items All orders will be show the same cost center and QNet user. Some special Retail reports are available. 2 tier pricing (users will see the price 3 tier pricing (userss will see the to the client) retail price) Registration required before accessing the site Registration at time of check out CREATING A SELF-REGISTRATION of a QNet site. Click on New User. PORTAL 1. Log-in as the Administrator 2. Give the self-registering user a User Name and default Cost Center.

5 3. Set the UserType to Master. 4. Set the User Select CC: Leave it blank if you want all self registering users to belong to the same cost center as the master user does. Set it to Cost Center Drop Down if you want the users to choose a cost center from those defined in Quantum. Set it to Cost Center Input Required if you want the user to type in the ship-to ID defined in Quantum. 5. Check the Send User on Self Register box if you would like people to get an reminding them which and password they used when registering. 6. Click on the Send Consultant on Self Register if you would like the consultant for the account to receive an notifying them every time someone self registers. 7. Set the User . I recommend making it the same as the User Name. 8. Set the user group. 9. Click on Close to save. LOGGING IN WITH SELF-REGISTERING QNET SITES At this point you have two options: 1. Give the people who will be self registering a link to your login page (usually something like the master user s User and Password. They will use the master user s information the first time they log-in and their own and password for subsequent log-ins. 2. You can create a link that will take the user straight into self-registration. That way your users do not have to know the master user name and password in order to self-register. Use the following formula: CREATING A LINK TO SELF-REGISTRATION d=[user_password]

6 You must replace the square brackets and their contents with the corresponding information: your site ID is your username when you login as distributor, the client ID is the one you assigned to your client in Quantum, the cost center ID is the one you assigned to that ship-to user when creating it and the password is the one you gave the self-registering user when you created it. You can then either give out this link for users to self-register with or you in Quantum, the user name is the one you gave the self-registering can put it on a website. Remember that anyone that has access to the link will be able to order from the site. They will login with the link the first time and for subsequent logins they will use your login page or enhanced login page and their and password. THE SELF REGISTRATION PROCESS Users will be asked for their address and other information. Required fields will have an asterisk. When they click on Continue they will be taken to the QNet site to order.
