1 Research Panel How to set up your Gmail Account & Yahoo Account for the Survey Savvy Research Panel

2 ERP SETUP Thanks for participating in our Research Panel, to get started we need you to login with your credential's to allow collection of your while participating for this panel study. Step 1 Go to Site Enter your Public Key and Password provided Step 2 User Management screen will pop-up and you will need to verify your address is listed under: My Addresses If your address password has been changed, update your password by clicking the wrench icon next to your listed address. Step 3 To Add another address, use this entry to add in your other address and password to add to your profile. Click Validate when complete to verify your set-up. Step 4 Logout when complete. Follow the Gmail and/or Yahoo instructions to verify your set up will allow collection.

3 GMAIL Step 1 Login into your Gmail account through Google web interface. Step 2 Click your profile picture and Click My Account to update settings. If you are already logged into the google account, use this link: lesssecureapps Step 3 Go into Sign-in & Security by clicking the arrow. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and turn on (Switch to blue) in the 1. Allow less secure apps: ON

4 GMAIL Step 3 Continued Go into Sign-in & Security by clicking the arrow. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and turn on (Switch to blue) in the Allow less secure apps: ON 2. If you have enabled two-step verification: Click App passwords Click Select App, the Select Other (Custom Name) from dropdown. Type in SurveySavvy and Click Generate Record the password provided to use in the Research Panel set-up. Step 4 1. Launch Research Panel Website 2. Add/Update your Yahoo address under My Addresses If this is your first time adding this address: at the bottom of the screen, in the Add Another section, type in your Gmail and the password provided to you by Gmail for authentication without spaces. If you have already added this address: to the left of the screen in the My Address section, click on the wrench icon to the right of your address listed and type in the password Gmail provided for authentication without spaces.

5 GMAIL Step 5 1. Click the square grid to launch Gmail interface Once your interface launches, click the gear on the right hand corner of your and go to Settings. 3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, validate the following: POP Download: Status: POP is Enabled When messages are accessed with POP Keep Gmail s copy in the inbox IMAP Access: Status: IMAP is enabled, if not Enable IMAP Click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen. Return to inbox. Allow 10 minutes for changes to apply before re-trying to sign-up for study

6 GMAIL Step 6 After completing the steps above including allowing 10 minutes for the settings to be applied to your Gmail account, retry to sign up for the study. If you are still getting an error message while trying to sign up for the study, follow these steps: 1. Login to your Gmail account using the following link: Click Continue CONGRATULATIONS! You should now be a part of our research study! Support & Troubleshoot Information You can return to the Research panel secure sign-in page by accessing the link located in the sent to your Gmail account with the subject link Auto-Forward Instructions for SurveySavvy Alternatively, you can follow the steps included within the from Google account services with the subject line Suspicious sign in prevented. If you are still unable to sign up for the project, the Research Panel support team is available Mon-Fri between 9:00AM 5:30PM PST. 7 YAHOO Step 1 Login into your Yahoo account through web interface. Step 2 Click your profile picture and Click Account Info to update settings. Step 3 Click on Account Security from the left hand menu. Provide your login credentials again if prompted. Or use this link if you are already logged into your Yahoo Account.

8 Step 4 On the Account Security Screen, identify Your Two-Step verification setting: YAHOO account for participation into the panel. If Turned on (blue) 1. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords 2. Click Select Your App from dropdown 3. Click Enter custom name and type in: SurveySavvy 4. Click Generate and Yahoo will give you a sixteen digit password. Record this password to use in the Research Panel set-up. 5. Launch Research Panel Website 6. Add/Update your Yahoo address under My Addresses If this is your first time adding this address: at the bottom of the screen, in the Add Another section, type in your Yahoo and the password provided to you for the 16-digit password Yahoo provided for authentication without spaces. If you have already added this address: to the left of the screen in the My Address section, click on the wrench icon to the right of your address listed and type in the 16-digit password Yahoo provided for authentication without spaces.

9 Step 4 Continued On the Account Security Screen, identify Your Two-Step verification setting: YAHOO account for participation into the panel. If Turned off 1. Click Allow apps that use less secure sign-in 2. Click I am not a robot Step 5 After completing the steps above including allowing 10 minutes for the settings to be applied to your Yahoo account, retry to sign up for the study. CONGRATULATIONS!
