1 Introduction This Data Protection Statement (the "Statement") sets out how Microchip Limited whose registered offices are at Microchip House, 720 Wharfedale Road, Winnersh Triangle, Wokingham, Berkshire RG41 5TP, England, (hereinafter "Microchip Ltd.", "we", "us", "our"), intends to collect and process information about you when you attend our European MASTERs Conference in Berlin,, September 2018 (the "Event"). For the purposes of this Statement, (a) Microchip means one or more of the following entities: Microchip Ltd., its parent, Microchip Technology Inc. What information do we collect and how do we use it? You may give us information, including information that can identify you ("personal information") when you visit our Event. This information will include (but may not be limited to) your full name, address, address, telephone number and other information, such as technical or project information. This information will be used to allow Microchip to improve its products and services and to contact you about products/services or events which we think might be of interest to you or Your mployer. In order to keep you updated, Microchip or one or more Microchip Partners (as defined below) may send you newsletters and other communications regarding our or third-party products, services, offers, promotions or events from Microchip, its distributors, sales representatives, design partners, and certain other third parties (please see: Appendix A to this Statement for further information regarding Microchip, its distributors, sales representatives, design partners, agents, and certain other third parties (collectively, Microchip Partners )) via or other forms of electronic communications, post, or telephone, provided that you expressly consent to this in advance. These communications are to provide welcome and engagement communications, to advertise, sell or offer to sell our products or services to you, for invoicing or payment-collection purposes, or other communications about our or third-party products and services that Microchip or any Microchip Partner think may be of interest to you or Your Employer. How we share and disclose your information 3.1 Microchip may share your information among one or more entities that are a part of Microchip for the purposes outlined in this Statement, and with the third parties which may include any Microchip Partner, contractors, service providers, or agents, as well as other third parties which make or sell products or services for use in connection with Microchip s products and services. 3.2 Microchip may also share your information with third parties when: (1) it is necessary to involve a third party service provider in order to facilitate or extend Microchip s services or facilitate any sales or marketing; (2) explicitly requested by you; (3) required by a court order or any legal or regulatory requirement; (4) in connection with the sale or transfer of a business; (5) to ensure the safety and security of Microchip employees, users, consumers and third parties; and (6) to protect Microchip s rights and property and the rights and property of our guests and third parties. 3.3 Certain Microchip entities and these third parties parties may be located within or outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). Information security 4.1 Microchip applies appropriate security measures to protect your personal information that is under our control from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal. All information you provide to Microchip is stored on secured servers. 4.2 It is possible that your personal information will be transmitted to MTI or our other affiliates or third parties outside your region (where data protection laws may be different). Data Retention 5.1 Microchip will not retain your information for longer than is necessary for its business purposes or for legal requirements. However, Microchip may retain some information after you have asked us to stop holding it, for instance if doing so is necessary to meet Microchip s legal obligations including, without limitation, retaining the information for tax and accounting purposes and fulfilling contractual obligations. Your rights 6.1 If you wish to obtain a copy of personal information that Microchip holds about you, or if you want us to amend or delete your information, please contact us at the address below.
