How to change your password - Students

1 - Students Introduction Upon joining the University, you will have been issued a password to access our systems. You are required to change this password immediately to ensure your continued access to systems including but not limited to: BREO, and Library Resources. Important Information Please note that the e:vision password you received at registration is separate from all other logins. If you make changes to your e:vision password it will not change your login to any systems other than e:vision. Similarly, changing the password as described in this guide, will not change your e:vision password. Passwords will continue to expire every 180 days (6 months). 2 Initial Login From any device or computer with an internet connection, browse to the following webpage: You will be presented with the following screen. Enter your student number and password in the appropriate fields Click on Sign in ICT (August 2016) Page 2 v1.2r

3 Challenge Response Questions When logging in for the first time, you are required to set some security questions. These questions will help to identify you and allow you to reset your own password should you forget it. If this is ticked, you have already completed the security questions Create your own questions and answer here You must do the following: Create your own question and response for the User Defined Challenge Response. This question should be something that is only known to you. Information like your date of birth, birthplace and place of work are easily searchable via social media profiles. Please note the following: Answers to questions cannot be identical. If there is a tick in Use Stored Response, this means you have already completed the questions. 4 Change Password In the top left hand corner there are 2 tabs. Click on: Change Password You are then presented with the password reset page and also the password requirements. Read the password requirements before attempting to change your password. You must do the following: Enter your Old password. This is the password you used to access this site. Enter a New password, ensuring your password adheres to the password requirements. Retype the New password and click Submit. ICT (August 2016) Page 4 v1.2r

5 Please note the following: If your password has changed successfully you will get the following message and be prompted to submit a password hint. This should be something to remind you of your password. It cannot be your password. If you have entered a password that is not accepted due to not following password requirements you may get one of the following messages, and you must select another password that adheres to the password requirements. 6 Forgotten Password If you cannot remember your password browse to the following link from any device with an internet connection: Click here if you have forgotten your password Click on: Forgotten password? Enter your student number in the Username field. Click Submit If you have set challenge response questions, you will be asked to provide the answers to two of these questions. If you have not set challenge response questions and you cannot remember your password, please skip to the next section. Enter your answers in the Response fields provided. 7 If you enter the correct answers you will be prompted to change your password. Refer to Page 4 of this guide. Support If you have followed this guide and are still having problems, you may need to contact support. Students should contact their local SiD (Student Information Desk) in the first instance.
