2 Deposit Account Switch Kit Instructions After you ve opened your new account at Bryn Mawr Trust, simply follow these five steps to complete the account switch. 1 Stop using your old account Remember to safely destroy any unused checks, ATM/debit cards, and deposit slips. Please make sure that all of your checks, payments, and other withdrawals have cleared and have been posted. 2 Change any direct deposit and/or automatic payments Fill out one of the enclosed forms for each direct deposit or automatic payment you receive. Social Security Administration changes can be made by calling You may have to include a voided check or a deposit slip from your new account. You may be able to complete this step directly with the provider. 3 Change your automatic payments or withdrawals Including recurring bills or membership fees. Don t forget about those that use your old debit card number, such as automatic payments online. 4 Register for Online Banking and set up Online Bill Pay Print your payee screen from your existing online account so you can use it as a reference when setting up your BMT Bill Payment Service. 5 Close your old account After all of your checks have cleared and automatic deposits and withdrawals have been rerouted to Bryn Mawr Trust, send the enclosed form to your old bank. There is no need to visit your financial institution. If, after all of your checks have cleared, you have a remaining balance, request that your old bank mail you a check for the amount of the remaining balance.
