3 Chapter 1: Get video/audio from video server/ip camera Before you use decoder to get video from video server, you need to make sure the network connection between video server and decoder is ok. For Decoder to connect to a video server, you have to setup the right setting in Connection Setting page. Please refer to below picture and table to do it.

4 The connection settings on the decoder must comply with the setting in the video server/ip camera. Please refer to the table below. This setting is for basic connection only, for advanced user, please select based on your own interest. This is for Decoder patrol settings Connection setting 1 Source Type Select the source of the device you connect to. 2 Connect type Select the connection type between video server and decoder 3 Variable FPS This option is valid only if you select variable frame rate for video server. 4 TCP Connect IP The IP of the video server/ip camera you connect to. 5 Multicast Connect IP This option is valid only if you select multicast on the video server. 6 Connect User Name The user name of the video 7 Connect Password server/ip camera you connect to. 8 Enable A/V Stream Select to enable the audio output of the video server 9 Enable Control Data Select to enable the control data output of the video server 10 Dwell time This is the time interval for Decoder to stay in this video server. 11 Streaming port This tells which port of the video server should Decoder get unicast stream from 12 Control port This tells which port of the video server should Decoder send control data to and receive control data from This setting must comply with the video streaming type in the video server. Please leave it as 1. Select it according to the device you connect to. Please select unicast on both Decoder and Video server s Video Setting. Please select the User Server s Setting Please enter the IP of the video server. Please select the unicast on both Decoder and video server. You don t need to modify the multicast IP then. Please enter the user name/password of your video server. Please select on if the video server or the IP camera has audio. Please select on as default. Please select it to 0 as default. This streaming port should comply to the video server s setting in Video setting Page. Default is 6002 This streaming port should comply to the video server s setting in Video setting Page. Default is 6001.

5 13 Multicast port This tells which port of the video server should Decoder get multicast stream from 14 RTP port This tells which port of the video server should Decoder get RTP stream from 15 HTTP port This tells which port of the video server should Decoder send HTTP request. Please leave it as 5000 Please leave it as This streaming port should comply to the video server s setting in Host Setting. Default is 80. NOTE: 1. SED-3300/3320 supports video servers & IP cameras with D1/CIF resolution. 2. ACD-3100 only supports video servers & IP cameras with D1 resolution. 3. Video server and IP cameras with VGA or megapixel resolution are NOT supported by any decoder.

6 Chapter 2: How to use PTZ control Step1. Connection diagram: One encoder and decoder:

7 Step2. Setup protocol and baud rate: IP Speed Dome 1. Please check the protocol and Baud rate setup. You can see Support package TS Ex. Pelco_P, 4800, ID=1 2. Go to the Web configuration, click on video setting, then check the Baud Rate is the same.

8 Control Panel Please check the protocol support on Control Panel; you can select F1 Key, then input 061 number to show the support protocols. Wide Tele key to select the protocol.

9 Step3. Connects Decoder to control panel: 1. Find the RS485+ and RS485- pins on control panel.

10 pin to Tx+ pin, 485- pin to Tx- pin.

11 3. RS-485 Line connects successfully. 4. Go to the Web configuration on decoder, click on host setting, and check the Baud Rate is the same as your control panel. 5. Then, you can use the control panel to control the IP speed dome. NOTE: Please make sure the baud rate and other corresponding serial settings the same for below device. 1. Control panel 2. Decoder 3. Encoder 4. Speed dome or Pan/Tilt devices Otherwise, the PTZ control will fail.

12 Step4. How to connect one control panel to multiple decoders 1. Find the RS485+ and RS485- pins on control panel. Speed dome setting 1. Baud rate: The same as control panel 2. Protocol: The same as control panel 3. Camera ID must be different for each speed dome Decoder Setting 1. Set baud rate the same as Control panel (in the web-configurator) T+ T- T+ T- T+ T- T+ T- 2. Please duplicate the connection between the decoder and the control panel if you have multiple + - decoders 3. The distance between trancoder and control panel should be within 5 meters if you are connecting to multiple decoders

13 Step5. How to use video server/ipcamera s DI to trigger Docoder s DO: When decoder connects to an encoder or a IP camera, it supports not only 1. 2-way audio 2. Video streaming 3. Transparent Serial transmission tunnel (RS-485, RS-232, RS-422) but also 4. Transparent DIO trigger. The DIO electric type differs between camera/encoder/decoders. Please refer to support package TS for details. Below is a reference model ACD-3100 (Type2) connects to SED-2140 (Type 2). You can see how does the alarm signal transmitted between ACD-3100 and SED DI DO Sensor VS Decoder Buzzer/ Alarm. 14 Trigger algorithm: Alarm sensor will change its output voltage level (how does it change varies between different sensors specification, it could change a. from high voltage output to low voltage output or b. from low voltage output to high voltage output. When video server/ip camera receives the voltage change, it would change its DI status (from status 0 -> 1 or 1 -> 0). Then video server/ip camera will send this DI status change to decoder to trigger decoder s DO. Decoder s status would be the same as encoder/ip camera s DI status (0 or 1). Then decoder would change it DO output voltage according to its DO specification (please refer to TS support package) to trigger external alarm device. NOTE: Please make sure the below items are correct, otherwise, the transparent DI/O trigger will fail 1. The Decoder and encoder/ip camera s control port settings are the same. 2. The Enable Control Data is ON on decoder s web-configurator 3. Please make sure the decoder can connects to encoder/ip camera s control port 4. Please make DI/O specification is the same on encoder/ip camera/decoder and the alarm devices (Sensor/Alarm) it connect to For other details about the DI/O connection, please refer to support package TS
