1 HOW TO live-stream sftball n a minimal budget It s a ne-camera live-stream with the pssiblity f changing scre, uts, innings. Yu can als add additinal graphics r live cmmentary.

2 WHAT DO YOU NEED A laptp with the OBS Studi sftware (free sftware) Outdr (actin) camera with a 170 angle Mini USB t 2.0 USB cable (cmes with the camera) Internet cnnectin (at least 1MB uplad) Duct tape r anther sphisticated system hw t attach the camera Platfrm where t shw the vide (OTT, YuTube, Facebk) Extensin cable (USB) if necessary Electricity t keep yur laptp and the camera alive Headset ptinal Graphics.jpg r.png files A tip prbably the mst famus actin camera GPr is cl, but unnecessary fr this task. Way cheaper cameras such as Nice By r Sencr 3cam 4KO2W r thers will serve just as well. STEP 1 at hme Dwnlad OBS Studi Dwnlad the OBS Studi sftware here: Install it. STEP 2 at hme - Set up the OBS Studi OBS Studi will create and bradcast yur feed, plus it will als recrd and save the ftage t yur laptp. When yu pen the OBS fr the first time, it will want yu t set up a bunch f things. Yu can set them up later as well. S yu dn t need t wrry t much abut it at that mment if yu re nt sure abut the details. Studi mde in the right bttm crner, click the Studi Mde buttn. This will help yu prepare yur scene befre it ges live. Left wrking screen, right utput screen. Settings depending n yur internet cnnectin, yu will need t set up the quality that yu can use fr yur live-streaming. G t settings and set up as needed. If yu understand these things, d yur thing. If yu want t learn abut it g here. If yu just really want t get it dne, fllw the next steps fr basic set up.

3 Settings/vide find ut what is yur internet cnnectin like mre specifically what is yur uplad? (g t Depending n that number, yu will need t set up tw things Vide bitrate, and utput reslutin. Check ut the fllwing table and find the bitrate that is clse t, but lwer than yur uplad (1MB uplad = reslutin 854x480, 2MB uplad = reslutin 1280x720, etc.) Fr all values, g t: T change yur utput reslutin, g t settings/vide: T adjust the vide bitrate, g t settings/utput:

4 STEP 3 at hme send feed (test) Where will yu live-stream t? T YuTube? T an OTT platfrm? T Facebk? The OBS Studi creates a signal (a feed) that needs t be sent smewhere t be displayed and available fr viewers. In whatever service yu may chse t use, yu will find a rtmp/server url and a stream key, yu need t cpy and paste bth t settings/stream in yur OBS Studi YuTube: 1. At yur main page hit the camera buttn and chse start 2. Click direct transmissin encder in the bttm right crner 3. Scrll dwn t find the Encder Settings Facebk (s far, I haven t been able t find settings that wuld make the Facebk live-stream lk gd, it always keeps freezing. I yu happen t be mre successful, please let me knw.) 1. When creating a new pst, hit Live

5 2. Hit Cnnect 3. Scrll dwn t find the server URL and stream key. Baseballsftball.tv (OTT platfrm by sprtradar) In the OTT backend, g t Vide & Live Manager/Streaming Details, find yur Server URL, and yur stream key right under that pick the crrect ne suitable with yur bitrate. When yu scrll dwn the page, yu will als find a table with crrect values f bitrates, vide reslutins and audi bitrates.

6 STEP 4 at hme set up yur scene Prepare yur graphics, lgs, flags, etc. In the OBS Studi, yu can add text layers as yu wish, yu just need sme graphics as a backgrund fr the texts (such as scres, team names, number f innings ) A tip A simple template with a space fr team name, lg/flag, and the scre will d. Yu als need a space fr the number f innings and uts if yu wish. A lg f the turnament r league can be added separately. I use a simple template like the first ne (n the left) abve. Fr each game, I add new lgs, the remaining infrmatin is changed in the OBS (the text layers) befre each new game. Add surces t create yur scene: Anything yu want t display in yur scene, yu need t add as a layer t the Surces windw. Yu will prbably add a bunch f images the OBS will let yu brwse yur cmputer t chse the ne yu ve prepared. Yu can als add texts and chse the right clr r fnt fr them. Yu can adjust the size by pulling the image s crners in the scene. Yu can mve the images and texts and ther layers arund by clicking n them and pulling them. Layers placed higher in the Surces windw will appear in the scene abve thse placed lwer in the Surces windw. When ready t live-stream, yu will als add a Vide Capture Device t cnnect yur camera t the OBS. By clicking the eye icn, each layer will becme visible r invisible. A tip Yu can bradcast advertisements, additinal infrmatin in between the innings, r temprary signs like!!!home RUN!!! by turning the visibility f thse layers n and ff when needed.

7 STEP 5 n the field preparatin Find yur favrite spt behind the backstp, prepare a table where yu can place yur laptp, get yur electricity cnnectin ready, cnnect yur laptp t the Internet. Attach the camera t the fence r place it wherever yu like. Switch it n. Plug in the mini-usb cable which is als cnnected t yur laptp. The camera will either ffer yu the PC camera mde itself r yu will need t find hw t switch it t that mde. Usually, a buttn n the side f the camera sets this up. Add the Vide Capture Device in the Surces windw. The default ptin there wuld be yur webcam, yu need t change this t the ther pssibility that shuld be the camera cnnected by the USB. When yu add this new layer (it may take a few secnds till it displays prperly) yu shuld see the view f the camera. Fix the psitining and angle f yur camera if needed. Make sure that the camera layer is at the very bttm f the Surces windw s all yur graphics are n tp f the game-scene. STEP 6 live-stream Depending n the platfrm (YuTube, Facebk, baseballsftball.tv) yu may need t create an event that will shw n the platfrm befre yu start the streaming, and will g live (r will need t be switched t live when yu start sending the feed). This is the case f baseballsftball.tv as well as ptinally YuTube. When yur camera is delivering the feed t the OBS and all yur graphics are set, yu can start the live-stream. Check that yu rtmp and stream key are crrect, that yur vide bitrate and utput reslutin are adjusted t yur uplad speed. Hit Start Streaming. Whatever yu can see in yur utput screen is nw being sent t yur platfrm. If needed, set yur pre-set event t live. Share the link f yur live-stream with yur audience. Yu can add surce f sund (surce windw and settings/audi) and adjust its vlume in the Mixer windw. STEP 7 keep updating Keep updating the number f innings, scres, and ther infrmatin yu have n the screen. Click transitin between the wrking screen and utput screen t shw the changes t yur audience. STEP 8 finish T end the live-stream hit Stp Streaming. Yu may als need t switch yur event t delivered. The whle game is nw saved in a.flv frmat in yur laptp and can be cnverted t.mp4 in the OBS Studi at File/Remux Recrdings.
