Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix provides IT administrators with the ability to integrate the management features of Lenovo XClarity Administrator and supported Lenovo Converged HX and ThinkAgile HX appliances with Nutanix Prism. Lenovo expands Nutanix Prism server management capabilities by integrating Lenovo hardware management functionality, providing affordable, basic management of physical and virtual environments to reduce the time and effort required for routine system administration. It provides health monitoring, event management, and integrated service and support that is needed to reduce cost and complexity through server consolidation and simplified management. 9 Chapter 2. Planning and deploying Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Use this procedure to plan for and install Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. System requirements Ensure that Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix supports the hardware and software that is in your environment. Host requirements This section lists minimum and recommended hardware requirements for the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix, as well as the Lenovo hardware that it can manage. Hardware requirements The following minimum requirements must be met. Two virtual microprocessors 8 GB of memory 64 GB of free hard drive space for use by the Lenovo XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Prism Depending on the size of your environment, additional resources might be required for optimal performance. For more information about recommended hardware requirements based on the number of managed devices in your environment, see the Lenovo XClarity Administrator Performance white paper. Hypervisor requirements The following hypervisors are supported for installing Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) or later Software requirements The following software is required by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Nutanix Prism Central or later (see the Nutanix Prism website) Note: The AHV cluster must be registered to Prism Central. Firewalls and proxy servers Some service and support functions in Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix require access to the Internet. If you have firewalls in your network, configure the firewalls to enable Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix to perform these operations. If Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix does not have direct access to the Internet, configure Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix to use a proxy server. Firewalls Ensure that the following DNS names and ports are open on the firewall. Note: IP addresses are subject to change. Use DNS names when possible. Copyright Lenovo

Ensure that the proxy server is set up to use basic authentication. Ensure that the proxy server is set up as a non-terminating proxy. Ensure that the proxy server is set up as a forwarding proxy. Ensure that load balancers are configured to keep sessions with one proxy server and not switch between them. Port requirements Several ports must be available, depending on how the firewalls are implemented in your environment. If the required ports are blocked or used by another process, some Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix functions might not work. Communication with Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix listens on and responds through the ports that are listed in the following table. Ensure that these ports are open. Note: Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix can be optionally configured to make outgoing connections to external syslog services. These connections might require additional ports that are generally user configurable and not included in this list. They might also require access to a domain name service (DNS) server on TCP or UDP port 53 to resolve external server names. 4 Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for NutanixInstallation and User's Guide

13 ThinkAgile SX2200N Series (9565) Deploying and configuring Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Use this procedure to deploy and configure Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Before you begin Ensure that you have reviewed the prerequisites for Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix (see Host requirements). Ensure that the devices that you intend to manage using Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix are supported (see Supported hardware). Certain ports must be available to communication with manageable servers. Ensure that all ports are available before you attempt to manage a server (see Port requirements). Ensure that Nutanix Prism Central is connected to the Internet to download Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Ensure that you set up a user account with administrative privileges for Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix through Prism Central. This management account is used by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix to connect to Prism Central. 1. From Nutanix Prism Central interface, click on the Gear Icon ( ) in the top right corner, and then click Local User Management. Chapter 2. 14 2. Click New User to display the Create User dialog. 3. Complete the fields to create a new user, and click Save. Important: Ensure that you select the Prism Central Admin role for this user. Ensure that Self Service & Apps is enabled in Nutanix Prism Central: 1. Log in to Nutanix Prism Element (AHV Cluster). 2. Click the cluster name from the top left corner. 3. In the Cluster Details dialog, specify the ISCSI Data Services IP address for the AHV cluster, and click Save. 4. Click VM Network Config User VM Interfaces Create Network to add a network for the management network. Notes: Ensure that a VLAN ID is set up for the management network. 15 Ensure that Enable IP address management is selected. 5. Log in to Nutanix Prism Central. 6. Click the? icon, and then click New in Prism Central Self Service & Apps. The Self Service and Apps Setup page is displayed. 7. In the Select Active Directory section, click New Directory. Specify your Active Directory account information, and then click Next. 8. In the Assign Self Service Admin(s) section, click Add Admins to add a self-service admin from the Active Directory account. 9. In the Default Configuration section, select the AHV cluster as default cluster. 10. In the Networks section, select the management network that you enabled in step 4, and then click Next. 11. Select Enable App Management and Enable Nutanix seeded blueprints, and click Finish. 12. Click the Apps tab. 13. Wait a few minutes while the app management service is started. Then, refresh the page. If the following page is displayed, Self Service & Apps is enabled correctly. Procedure Step 1. Log in to Nutanix Prism Central using a user ID with service privileges. Step 2. Click the Apps tab. Step 3. Click the Marketplace Manager icon ( ) from the left pane. Step 4. Select XClarity in the list of blueprint names, and then click Publish in the right pane. Step 5. Click the Projects icon ( ) from the left pane. Step 6. Click the default project to open the project. Step 7. Click Environment in the top menu, and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. No changes are needed. Step 8. Click the Marketplace Manager icon ( ) from the left pane. Step 9. Click XClarity or the Lenovo logo, and then click Launch. The Launch Blueprint dialog is displayed. Step 10. Select the default project from the drop-down list, and then click Launch. Chapter 2. 16 Step 11. Complete the fields, including the application name. For the NIC, select the management network, and assign a static IP address to your App. Step 12. Then, click Create. Step 13. Wait a few minutes until the application is created, and then click Close. Step 14. Wait a few minutes until the status changes from Provisioning to Running. Step 15. Launch Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix from a web browser using the following URL. When you access Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix for the first time, there are several steps that you must complete to initially set up Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Step 16. Read and accept the license agreement. Step 17. Specify the IP address for Prism Central. Step 18. Specify the administrator user account and password that you created in Prism Central specifically for Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Step 19. Click Apply to go to the LXCA Configuration tab Step 20. Choose whether to manage hardware using Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix or using an external Lenovo XClarity Administrator. Note: When using Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix, all the Lenovo Converged HX and ThinkAgile HX servers are automatically managed. When using an external Lenovo XClarity Administrator, you must manually manage each server that is not already managed by Lenovo XClarity Administrator, either by discovering and managing the servers in Lenovo XClarity Administrator or by managing servers in the unmanaged list in Lenovo XClarity Administrator. If you choose to use an existing Lenovo XClarity Administrator, specify the IP address and user credentials for the Lenovo XClarity Administrator instance that you want to use. Step 21. Click Apply to go to the Server tab Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix periodically retrieves the list of Lenovo Converged HX and ThinkAgile HX appliances that are discovered by Nutanix Prism and automatically manages the servers. You can also manually manage servers if there are issues during the management process (see Discovering and managing servers). Updating Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix You can update the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix management server to install the latest software. Procedure Step 1. Download the latest software update package from the Lenovo XClarity Integrator Offerings for Nutanix website The update packages includes four files: the image or payload file (zip,.bin,.uxz, or.tgz), change history file (.chg), readme file (.txt), and metadata file (.xml). Step 2. From the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix main menu, click the Service and support tab, and then click the Updates subtab Step 3. Import the software update into Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix by clicking the Import icon (. Then, wait until the update is downloaded. 10 Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for NutanixInstallation and User's Guide

17 You must import the metadata file (.xml) as well as the image or payload file, change history file, and readme file for the update. Any files that are selected but are not specified in the.xml file are discarded. If you do not include the XML file, the update is not imported. Step 4. Deploy the update by clicking the Perform Update icon ( ). Removing Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Use this procedure to remove Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix from Prism Central. Procedure Step 1. Log in to Nutanix Prism Central using a user ID with service privileges. Step 2. Click the Apps tab. Step 3. Click the Applications icon ( ) from the left pane. Step 4. Select the application name that you specified for Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Step 5. Click Delete in the application menu, and then click Delete again to confirm. Step 6. Launching Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix Procedure You can launch Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix from a web browser using the following URL, and then log in using your Prism Central user name and password. You can log out of Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix by clicking the Actions icon ( then clicking Log out. ), and Copyright Lenovo

21 Chapter 4. Administering Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix You can perform administration tasks, such as adding a second network interface. Adding a second network interface You can add a second network interface to the App appliance after deploying Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. About this task For a virtual appliance without an external Lenovo XClarity Administrator, a second network interface is needed when the servers and Prism Central are in different networks. The management network that was configured during the deployment steps is used to communicate with Prism Central. A second network interface is needed to communicate with the management controllers in the servers. For virtual appliance with an external Lenovo XClarity Administrator, a second network interface is needed when the external Lenovo XClarity Administrator and Prism Central are in different networks. The management network that was configured during the deployment steps is used to communicate with Prism Central. A second network interface is needed to communicate with the external Lenovo XClarity Administrator. Procedure Complete the following steps to add a second network interface. Step 1. Create a new network through Prism Central. 1. From Nutanix Prism Central main menu, click Explore. 2. Click VMs in the left navigation. 3. Click Network Config to display the Network Configuration dialog. 4. Click the User VM Interfaces tab to display the Network Interfaces dialog. 5. Click Create Network. 6. Specify the network name and VLAN ID. 7. Ensure that App VM can access the baseboard management controllers for each server through this network. Step 2. Create a new network interface for your App VM, and add it into the network created in the previous step. 1. From Nutanix Prism Central main menu, click Explore. 2. Click VMs in the left navigation. 3. Select the virtual machine to which you want to add the second network interface. 4. Click the Update tab in the top menu. 5. Scroll to locate the Network Adapters (NIC) section. 6. Click Add New NIC. 7. Select the network that you created in step1 from the VLAN Name drop-down list. 8. Click Add. 9. Click Save. 22 Step 3. Reboot the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix virtual machine. Step 4. Launch Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix from a web browser using the following URL, and then log in using your Prism Central user name and password. Step 5. Update the IP address of the virtual machine. 1. From the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix menu, select the Configuration tab. 2. Click Edit near the top-right corner. 3. Select the IP Settings tab. 4. Complete the fields to configure the virtual machines IP addresses by setting them statically. Configuring the virtual machine eth0 IP address Static IP addresses are assigned during deployment. If you set the wrong network settings during deployment, and the application is not accessible, you can change the eth0 IP address through the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix console after the deployment process is complete. Procedure Power on the virtual appliance. When the virtual machine is started, the IPv4 address is listed for each interface, as shown in the following example. At the end of the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix boot process, you can choose to set a static IP address for the eth0 management port by entering 1 when prompted, as shown in the example 16 Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for NutanixInstallation and User's Guide

23 below. The prompt is available for 150 seconds, until the login prompt is displayed. To proceed to the login prompt without delay, enter x at the prompt. Important: When changing the static IP address settings, you have a maximum of 60 seconds to enter the new settings. Ensure that you have the required IP information before continuing. For IPv4 settings, you must specify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway IP address. If you change the IP address settings from the console, Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix is restarted to apply the new settings. No action is required to log in. Ignore the console login message. The console interface is not for customer use. Attention: Changing the IP address of the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix management port after managing devices might cause the devices to be placed in offline state in Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. If you choose to change the IP address after Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix is up and running, ensure that all devices are unmanaged before changing the IP address Lenovo Integrator for Prism Version x.x.x eth0 Link encap:ethernet HWaddr 2001:db8:65:12:34:56 inet addr: Bcast Mask inet6 addr: eth1 Link encap:ethernet HWaddr 2001:db8:64:23:45:67 inet addr: Bcast Mask inet6 addr: =========================================================================== =========================================================================== You have 150 seconds to change IP settings. If the IP addresses need to change after deployment, and the application is accessible, you can update the virtual machine IP addresses through Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Note: If the GUI is not accessible, see Configuring the virtual machine eth0 IP address. Procedure Step 1. From the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix menu, select the Configuration tab Step 2. Click Edit near the top-right corner. Chapter 4. Configuring an HTTP proxy server You can connect to Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix using a direct connection or an HTTP proxy server. 27 Chapter 5. Managing Lenovo hardware You can use Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix to monitor the health of managed servers, including status, inventory, and alerts and events. Discovering and managing servers If you are using Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix or Lenovo XClarity Administrator to manage servers, Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix periodically retrieves the list of Lenovo Converged HX and ThinkAgile HX appliances that are discovered by Nutanix Prism and automatically manages the servers. You can also manually manage servers if there are issues during the management process. Procedure Complete the following steps to manually discover and manage servers. Step 1. Click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers Step 2. Click the Unmanaged toggle to view a list of servers that are not yet managed You can sort the table columns to make it easier to find the specific servers. In addition, you can enter text (such as a system name or IP address) in the Search in field to further filter the servers that are displayed. Step 3. Select one or more servers to manage, and click Managed Selected. The Manage dialog is displayed. Step 4. Specify the user name and password to use to authenticate with the baseboard management controller in servers. Step 5. Click Manage. Note: As part of the management process, Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix collects inventory data for the server, which can take several minutes. You can monitor the status of the management process from the jobs log. Viewing the status of a managed server You can view the status of all servers that are currently being managed by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. Procedure To view the status for a managed server, click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with the status and summary of all managed or unmanaged servers. About this task CPU usage is a measurement of the aggregated C-state residency. It is measured as a percentage of the used and maximum C0 residency, per second. Memory usage is a measurement of the aggregated read/write volumes of all memory channels. Working with alerts and events From Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix, you have access to logs for alerts, hardware and management events, and audit events. You can also forward monitored events to over the network to a central log server where native tools can be used to monitor the syslog. The alerts log provides a list of hardware or management conditions that require investigation and user action. Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix polls the managed servers asynchronously and displays alerts that are received from those servers. The event log provides a historical list of all hardware and firmware events. The audit log provides a historical record of user actions, such as logging in to Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix, creating a new user, and changing a user password. 31 Monitoring active alerts The alerts log provides a list of hardware or management conditions that require investigation and user action. Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix polls the managed servers asynchronously and displays alerts that are received from those servers. About this task Typically, when an alert is received, a corresponding event is stored in the event log. It is possible to have an alert without a corresponding event in the event log (even if the log wraps). For example, events that occur before you manage a server are not displayed in the event log. However, the alerts for the server are displayed in the alert log because Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix polls the management controller after the server has been managed. Procedure To view all hardware and firmware events for a specific managed server, complete the following steps. To view all active alerts in the alerts log, click Alerts in the menu bar. The Alerts Log page is displayed. To view all active alerts for a specific managed server, complete the following steps. 1. Click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers. You can sort the table columns to make it easier to find the specific servers. 33 About this task The event log contains informational and non-informational events. The number of each of these events varies until the maximum of 5,000 events is reached in the event log. At that point, there is a maximum of 2,500 informational and 2,500 non-information events. For example, there are 0 events in the event log initially. Assume events are received so that 2,000 informational events and 3000 non-informational events are received. When the next event is received, the oldest informational event is discarded even if a noninformational event is older. Eventually, the log balances out so that there are 2,500 of each type of event. Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix sends an event when the event log reaches 80% of the minimum size and another event when the sum of the event and audit logs reaches 100% of the maximum size. Procedure To view all hardware and firmware events for a specific managed server, complete the following steps. To view all events in the event log, click Events in the menu bar, and then click the Event Log tab. The Event Log page is displayed. To view the all events for a specific managed server, complete the following steps. 1. Click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers. 37 1. Click Alerts in the menu bar to display the Alerts page. 2. Click the link in the Alert column to view information about the alert (including an explanation and recovery actions) and properties for the endpoint that is the source of the alert (such as the Universally Unique Identifier). 3. Complete the recovery actions that are listed under the Details tab to resolve the alert. The following example illustrates recovery actions for an event. If you follow the recommended actions and the problem persists, contact Lenovo Support. Complete the following steps to resolve an event. 1. Click Events in the menu bar, and then click the Events toggle to display the Alerts page. 2. Locate the event in the events log. 3. Click the link in the Event column to view information about that event (including an explanation and recovery actions) and about the endpoint that is the source of the event. 4. Click the Details tab. 5. Complete the recovery actions under the Details tab to resolve the event. If you follow the recommended actions and the problem persists, contact Lenovo Support. Forwarding events You can configure Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix to forward monitored events to over the network to a central log server where native tools can be used to monitor the syslog. You can define the scope of events to be forwarded based on device, event class, event severity, and component. About this task For audit events, you can choose to forward all audit events or none. You cannot forward specific audit events. For hardware and management events, you can choose to forward events for one or more severities (critical, warning, and informational) and for one or more components (such as disk drives, processors, and adapters). Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix uses syslog recipients to forward events. A syslog recipient includes information about the recipient, the servers to monitor, and the events to forward. After you create and enable a syslog recipient, Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix starts monitoring for incoming events based on the filter criteria. When a match is found, the event is forwarded to the syslog recipients. Note: Events are not delivered if, for example, connectivity between Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix and the syslog recipient is down or if the port is blocked. Setting up event forwarding to syslog You can create and enable up to four syslog recipients to receive events Before you begin If Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix is rebooted after event recipients are configured, you must wait for the management server to regenerate internal data before events are forwarded correctly. Procedure Complete the following steps to create a syslog recipient Step 1. Click Event Forwarding in the menu bar to display the Event Forwarding page Step 2. Click the Create icon ( ). 38 Step 3. Enter the name, destination host, and optional description for the syslog recipient. Step 4. Enter the port to use for forwarding events. The default is 514. Step 5. Select the protocol to use for forwarding events. This can be one of the following values. UDP TCP Step 6. Select Enable this recipient to activate event forwarding for this syslog recipient. Step 7. 39 Step 8. Select the servers that you want monitor for this syslog recipient. Note: To forward events for all managed servers (current and future), select the Match all systems, including future systems checkbox. If you do not select the Match all systems, including future systems checkbox, ensure that the selected devices do not have a DUMMY-UUID in the UUID column. A Dummy-UUID is assigned to devices that have not yet recovered after a restart or are not discovered completely by the management server. If you select a device with a Dummy-UUID, event forwarding works for this device until the moment when the device is fully discovered or recovered and the Dummy-UUID changes to its real UUID. Step 9. 40 Step 10. Select Include All Audit events to forward all audit events. Step 11. Select Include Warranty events to forward all warranty events. Step 12. Select the components and severities for which you want events to be forwarded. Step 13. Click Create. What to do next The syslog recipient is listed in the Event Forwarding table. From the Event Forwarding page, you can perform the following actions on a selected remote-event recipient: View details about a specific syslog recipient by clicking the link in the Name column. Change the remote syslog properties and filter criteria by clicking the syslog recipient name in the Name column. Delete the syslog recipient by clicking the Delete icon ( ). Suspend event forwarding (see Suspending event forwarding on page 34). Suspending event forwarding You can suspend event forwarding by disabling the syslog recipient. Suspending event forwarding stops the monitoring of incoming events. Events that are received while monitoring is suspended are not forwarded. 41 The disabled state is not persistent. If the management server is restarted, all remote-event recipients become enabled. Procedure Complete the following steps to disable the forwarding of events. Step 1. Click Event Forwarding in the menu bar to display the Event Forwarding page. Step 2. Click the syslog recipient name in the Name column. Step 3. Select Disable this recipient. Step 4. Click the Events tab. Step 5. Click Save. Unmanage servers You can remove a server from management by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix when a server is in an offline state. This process is called unmanaging. Procedure Complete the following steps to manually discover and manage servers. Step 1. From the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix main menu, click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers. You can sort the table columns to make it easier to find the specific servers. In addition, you enter text (such as a system name or IP address) in the Search in field to further filter the servers that are displayed. Step 2. Select the servers with a health state of offline to unmanage. Step 3. Click Unmanage offline to unmanage the servers. Step 4. Click Unmanage in the dialog. What to do next The unmanaged server is listed on the Unmanaged tab. If the server is available for management, it will be discovered and automatically managed by the periodic automatic management process. You can manually discover and manage server that were previous unmanaged (see Discovering and managing servers). Note: When you unmanaged servers, Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix retains certain information about the servers. Procedure Complete the following steps to define the support-contact and location information for the managed servers. Define a support contact for a specific server. 1. Click Servers from the menu bar. The All Servers page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers. You can sort the table columns to make it easier to find the specific servers. In addition, you enter text (such as a system name or IP address) in the Search in field to further filter the servers that are displayed. 2. Click the link for the server in the Server Name column. Fill in the name of the support contact. 5. Click Save. Collecting and downloading service data for a server When there is an issue on a managed device that requires the assistance of a service provider to resolve, you can manually collect service data (including service information, inventory, and logs) for that device to help identify the cause of the issue. The service data is saved as a service file in tar.gz format. You can download or send the service files to your preferred service provider. About this task When a managed server generates a serviceable event that triggers Call Home (see List of serviceable events), Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix automatically collects service data from that server and stores the data in a single file in the diagnostics-data repository. If the service provider requires additional data, you might be instructed to manually re-collect service data for that server or for another server using the procedure described below When the service-data repository reaches its maximum capacity, the oldest set of files is deleted to make room for the new file. For information about downloading service data for Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix, see Downloading management service files. Procedure Complete the following steps to collect and download diagnostic data for a specific managed server. Step 1. Click Servers from the menu bar. The Service and Support page is displayed with a tabular view of all managed servers. Step 4. Click the Device Diagnostic Files tab. Step 5. Select one or more diagnostic files for that server, and click Download selected logs. Step 6. Save the diagnostic files to your local system. The selected files are downloaded in a single.tar.gz archive file. Step 7. Send the files to your preferred service provider using your preferred method. What to do next From the Endpoint Diagnostic Files tab, you can remove diagnostic files that are no longer needed by selecting one or more files and clicking the Delete icon ( ). Downloading management service files Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix automatically collects service information and saves the information as a service file in tar.gz format whenever an alert occurs on Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. You can download or send the service files to your preferred service provider to get assist in resolving issues as they arise. Before you begin Work with Lenovo Support to determine if you should download all or specific service files. Procedure To download the Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix service files, complete the following steps Step 1. Click Service and Support from the menu bar. The Service and Support page is displayed Step 2. Click the Management Service Files tab. 40 Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for NutanixInstallation and User's Guide

47 Step 3. Select one or more service files to download, and click the Download Selected Service Files icon ( ). Step 4. Choose to send the service files to Lenovo Support or save the files to your local system or to network storage. If multiple files are selected, the files are compressed into a single.tar.gz file before sending. What to do next From the Management Server Files tab, you can also perform these tasks: Manually download service files and logs: Download all service files and management server logs by clicking Download All Service Data. Download all service files by clicking Download All Service Files. Download all management server logs by clicking Download All Service Logs. A message is displayed that shows the estimated amount of data to be downloaded. Downloading all service files, all management server logs, or both might take a significant amount of time, depending on the number and size of the files. 49 Chapter 7. Troubleshooting This section describes situations that sometimes occur with Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix and how you can solve them. Cannot manage a server Use this information to troubleshoot issues when managing devices. 1. Ensure that the server is supported by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix. For information about device support, see Supported hardware. 2. Ensure that the server is reachable on the network from Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix and that Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix is reachable on the network from the server. 3. Ensure that all required ports are open on the network and firewalls. For information about port requirements, see Port requirements and Firewalls and proxy servers. A server is offline unexpectedly The health state of a server changes to offline when the server that managed by Lenovo ThinkAgile XClarity Integrator for Nutanix is Force managed away by another Lenovo XClarity Administrator. To resolve this issue, unmanage the server (see Unmanage servers). If the server is available for management, it will be discovered and automatically managed by the periodic automatic management process.
