5 EN V1.1.1 ( ) Introduction To evaluate conforance of a particular ipleentation, it is necessary to have a stateent of which capabilities and options have been ipleented for a telecounication specification. Such a stateent is called an Ipleentation Conforance Stateent (ICS). The ICS profora is not another coplete description of the related specification, but rather a copact for of its static conforance requireents, to be used by the test laboratory to identify which test shall be perfored on a given ipleentation. Not every feature of a profile specification is contained in the related ICS profora. For particular cases requiring specific inforation the ICS can refer to the appropriate clause of the related specification by eans of references, notes and or coents.

6 EN V1.1.1 ( ) 1 Scope The present docuent provides the Ipleentation Conforance Stateent (ICS) profora specification for the synchronization network generic requireents defined in EN [4] in copliance with the relevant requireents, and in accordance with the relevant guidance given in ISO/IEC [9] and ETS [7]. 2 References The following docuents contain provisions, which through reference in this text, constitute provisions of the present docuent. References are either specific (identified by date of publication, edition nuber, version nuber, etc.) or non-specific. For a specific reference, subsequent revisions do not apply. For a non-specific reference, the latest version applies. A non-specific reference to an ETS shall also be taken to refer to later versions published as an EN with the sae nuber. 8 8 EN V1.1.1 ( ) 4 Conforance to this ICS profora specification If it clais to confor to the present docuent, the actual ICS profora to be filled in by a supplier shall be technically equivalent to the text of the ICS profora given in annex A, and shall preserve the nubering/naing and ordering of the profora ites. An ICS, which confors to the present docuent shall be a conforing ICS profora copleted in accordance with the guidance for copletion given in clause A.1. Instruentation in accordance with ITU-T Recoendation O.172 [10] is appropriate for verifying conforance to these specifications.

9 EN V1.1.1 ( ) Annex A (norative): ICS profora guidance Notwithstanding the provisions of the copyright clause related to the text of the present docuent, grants that users of the present docuent ay freely reproduce the ICS profora in this annex so that it can be used for its intended purposes and ay further publish the copleted ICS. A.1 Guidance for copleting the ICS profora A.1.1 Purposes and structure The purpose of this ICS profora is to provide a echanis whereby a supplier of an ipleentation of the requireents defined in EN ay provide inforation about the ipleentation in a standardized anner. The ICS profora is subdivided into subclauses for the following categories of inforation: - guidance for copleting the ICS profora; - identification of the ipleentation; - identification of the EN; - global stateent of conforance. A.1.2 Abbreviations and conventions The ICS profora contained in annexes of the present docuent is coprised of inforation in tabular for in accordance with the guidelines presented in ISO/IEC Ite colun The ite colun contains a nuber which identifies the ite in the table. Ite description colun The ite description colun describes in free text each respective ite (e.g. paraeters, tiers, etc.). It iplicitly eans "is <ite description> supported by the ipleentation?". Status colun The following notations, defined in ISO/IEC , are used for the status colun: o n/a x o.i ci andatory - the capability is required to be supported. optional - the capability ay be supported or not. not applicable - in the given context, it is ipossible to use the capability. prohibited (excluded) - there is a requireent not to use this capability in the given context. qualified optional - for utually exclusive or selectable options fro a set. "i" is an integer which identifies an unique group of related optional ites and the logic of their selection which is defined iediately following the table. conditional - the requireent on the capability ("", "o", "x" or "n/a") depends on the support of other optional or conditional ites. "i" is an integer identifying an unique conditional status expression which is defined iediately following the table.

10 EN V1.1.1 ( ) Reference colun The reference colun akes reference to EN , except where explicitly stated otherwise. Support colun The support colun shall be filled in by the supplier of the ipleentation. The following coon notations, defined in ISO/IEC , are used for the support colun: Y or y N or n N/A, n/a or - supported by the ipleentation not supported by the ipleentation no answer required (allowed only if the status is n/a, directly or after evaluation of a conditional status) If this ICS profora is copleted in order to describe a ultiple-profile support in a syste, it is necessary to be able to answer that a capability is supported for one profile and not supported for another. In that case, the supplier shall enter the unique reference to a conditional expression, preceded by "?" (e.g.?3). This expression shall be given in the space for coents provided at the botto of the table. It uses predicates defined in the SCS, each of which refers to a single profile and which takes the value TRUE if and only if that profile is to be used. EXAMPLE:?3: IF prof1 THEN Y ELSE N It is also possible to provide a coent to an answer in the space provided at the botto of the table. Values allowed colun The values allowed colun contains the type, the list, the range, or the length of values allowed. The following notations are used: - range of values: <in value>... <ax value> exaple: list of values: <value1>, <value2>,..., <valuen> exaple: 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 exaple: '1101'B, '1011'B, '1111'B exaple: '0A'H, '34'H, '2F'H - list of naed values: <nae1>(<val1>), <nae2>(<val2>),..., <naen>(<valn> exaple: reject(1), accept(2) - length: size (<in size>... <ax size>) Values supported colun exaple: size (1... 8) The values supported colun shall be filled in by the supplier of the ipleentation. In this colun, the values or the ranges of values supported by the ipleentation shall be indicated. References to ites For each possible ite answer (answer in the support colun) within the ICS profora a unique reference exists, used, for exaple, in the conditional expressions. It is defined as the table identifier, followed by a solidus character "/", followed by the ite nuber in the table. If there is ore than one support colun in a table, the coluns are discriinated by letters (a, b, etc.), respectively. EXAMPLE 1: A.5/4 is the reference to the answer of ite 4 in table 5 of annex A. EXAMPLE 2: A.6/3b is the reference to the second answer (i.e. in the second support colun) of ite 3 in table 6 of annex A.

11 EN V1.1.1 ( ) Prerequisite line A prerequisite line takes the for: Prerequisite: <predicate>. A prerequisite line after a clause or table title indicates that the whole clause or the whole table is not required to be copleted if the predicate is FALSE. A.1.3 Instructions for copleting the ICS profora The supplier of the ipleentation shall coplete the ICS profora in each of the spaces provided. In particular, an explicit answer shall be entered, in each of the support colun boxes provided, using the notation described in subclause A.1.2. If necessary, the supplier ay provide additional coents in space at the botto of the tables, or separately on sheets of paper. More detailed instructions are given at the beginning of the different subclauses of the ICS profora.

12 EN V1.1.1 ( ) Annex B (norative): ICS profora for EN , Tiing characteristics of slave clocks for synchronization supply to SDH and PDH equipent Notwithstanding the provisions of the copyright clause related to the text of the present docuent, grants that users of the present docuent ay freely reproduce the ICS profora in this annex so that it can be used for its intended purposes and ay further publish the copleted ICS. B.1 Identification of the ipleentation In the present docuent, an Ipleentation Under Test (IUT) refers to an Synchronisation Supply Unit (SSU). An SSU can exist as a separate piece of equipent - Stand-Alone Synchronisation Supply Equipent (SASE) or it can for a logical function within another piece of equipent, for exaple a telephony exchange or SDH crossconnect. In the latter case, the piece of equipent within which the SSU function resides is the Syste Under Test (SUT). Identification of the IUT and the SUT in which it resides should be filled in so as to provide as uch detail as possible regarding version nubers and configuration options. The product supplier inforation and client inforation should both be filled in if they are different. A person who can answer queries regarding inforation supplied in the ICS should be naed as the contact person. B.3 Global stateent of conforance Are all andatory capabilities ipleented? (Yes/No)... NOTE: Answering "No" to this question indicates non-conforance to the EN specification. Non-supported andatory capabilities are to be identified in the ICS, with an explanation of why the ipleentation is non-conforing, on pages attached to the ICS profora. Answering "Yes" to this question indicates only that all the capabilities with the explicit status "" are supported. It is not necessary to fill in the support colun of the associated ite.
