EVX-LINK Programming PRE-INSTALLATION ACTIVITIES STEP 1: Contact Internet provider to obtain Static IP address for modem/internet connection.

2 EVX-LINK Programming PRE-INSTALLATION ACTIVITIES STEP 1: Contact Internet provider to obtain Static IP address for modem/internet connection. NOTE: This will be your Gateway IP address STEP 2: Obtain the IP address of router from operator s manual provided by manufacturer. STEP 3: Enter Gateway IP address obtained from internet provider into router/modem. NOTE: Programming may vary by manufacturer (refer to router/modem operator s manual). STEP 4: Setup router to pass UDP port 2100, this is specific for each router, and is typically found in the advanced settings. STEP 5: Determine Subnet mask accordingly to router IP address.. NOTE: You may not limit a network to be larger than its class. Example: Class A can be setup like a class A, B, or C level network with that many devices/hosts. Class B can be setup like a class B or C level network with that many devices/hosts. Class C can only be setup with class C level of devices/hosts. Example: Subnet for router IP of subnet mask would be (default mask) STEP 6: Determine IP Address of EVX-Link. NOTE: IP address has to fall within the network IP address of router NOTE: A router is typically Class C so there can only be 256 different IP addresses. Example: With the example of IP address of router EVX-LINK may be IP address to NOTE: Define which IP address is utilized and each device must have a unique address. EVX-Link is one (1) device. 2

Select to read EVX-Link Enter Local EVX-Link (being programmed) information. 4

NOTE: DO NOT check the box of the local EVX-Link being programmed.

IP addresses must be provided by Customer s IT department. STEP 10: Check the boxes of the EVX-Link(s) that will receive packets. NOTE: DO NOT check the box of the local EVX-Link being programmed. 1 st field is Tag description line 2 nd field is IP address Complete for each EVX-Link Box Only the Local EVX-LINK is unchecked as it does not need to receive packets from itself. STEP 11: Write information into the EVX-Link by clicking on the WRITE TO EVX-LINK NOTE: Repeat STEPS 4-7 for each EVX-Link Box. 5
