2 Configuration Guide for Avaya IP Office Version 6.0 with XO SIP 0/ Overview About This Document This document describes interoperability between XO SIP Package 1 (G.711) and Package 2 (G.729a) and Avaya IP Office 406 Version 6.0 (08) with IP Office Manager R6 8.0 (8), deployed with an XO-provided Cisco 2432 Integrated Access Device (IAD) as the router/demarcation device. As Avaya IP Office 406 does not support any type of faxing, additional testing was conducted using Avaya IP Office 500 Version 6.0 (08) for fax test cases only. This document assumes the audience has a general understanding of network provisioning and the connectivity requirements of XO Communications SIP service offering. Known Issues While XO certifies interoperability between XO SIP service and the IP PBX as outlined herein, the following known issues were identified during Interoperability testing. The customer should be aware that certain features and functions may not be fully supportable. In some cases, special configurations and/or PBX software patches may be available from the vendor. 1) In the following call scenarios the calls complete successfully; however, the originating calling line ID (CLID) is not delivered. Instead, the caller ID of the Avaya phone transferring the call is delivered to the destination phone. Call Forward Always (CFA), Call Forward on Busy (CFoB), and Call Forward No Answer (CFNA) PSTN-to-PSTN call transfer Blind Call Transfer PSTN-to-PSTN Consult call transfer PSTN-to-PSTN 2) IP Office SIP OPTIONS Messages Cannot be Disabled, however OPTIONS should be sent at a frequency of once per minute or slower. 3) Avaya IP Office Version 6.0 (8) does not support SIP REFER 4) Avaya IP Office Version 6.0 (8) Mobile Twinning Feature is supported. All other call forwarding settings on the phone such as CFA, CFoB and CFNA must be disabled as they will conflict with Mobility Twinning when it is also enabled. When this feature is used, the original CLID for a PSTN-to-PSTN Mobility Twinning transferred call is displayed correctly on the Avaya phone or destination PSTN phone. Note: In Avaya IPO Manager for the IPO406 device, under the SIP Line, the "send Caller ID" field must be set to "Diversion Header". A Twinning button must be programmed on the phone. This button must be configured with an outside line access number and a 10 digit phone number to which the calls are to be transferred. 5) Faxing is not supported on Avaya IP Office 406 Version 6.0(8) 6) T.38 Fax is supported on Avaya IP Office 500 Version 6.0(8) however G.711 faxing is not supported (see details below under XO SIP Packages Supported). 7 3. Avaya IP Office Version 6.0 IP PBX Configuration In This Section XO performed the minimum amount of configuration required to achieve successful completion of test calls over XO SIP. It is beyond the scope of this document and the testing efforts to show a complete configuration, therefore screenshots of the GUI interface are provided only for the details of the SIP trunk configuration that are relevant to interfacing with XO s SIP product.
