1 IxLoad EPC Diameter Testing IxLoad is a full-featured layer 4-7 test application that provides real-world traffic emulation testing of voice, video, and data networks and components. IxLoad simultaneously emulates multiple layer 7 protocol activities, making it perfect for testing application delivery systems and components that use quality of service (QoS) and policy control mechanisms. IxLoad Diameter protocols run on all Ixia's hardware platforms: XT80, Ultra- NP, PerfectStorm, and generic VM. All Diameter interfaces support 3 rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 9 and 10 versions. Ixia's Diameter test solution is powered by technology from Developing Solutions. In addition to Diameter protocols, IxLoad supports true stateful emulation of other layer 7 protocols over egtp; see the IxLoad: Wireless Enhanced Packet Core Testing Data Sheet for details. Diameter-based interface features: SmartAVP enables users to add, remove, or configure mandatory and custom AVPs, define proprietary signaling, and alter AVPs for negative testing Support for multiple 3GPP releases (Rel9, Rel10) SmartEvents enable users to configure subscribers state machine Support for transaction rate test objective Support for both TCP and SCTP as transport layer Support for both IPv4 and IPv6 Multiple nodes support (multi-ranges) Support for Diameter Client or Server functional, negative and performance testing Perform EPC isolation testing by simulating any Diameter node (PCRF, HSS, etc.) Provides high performance needed for DRA testing Coordinated simulation across multiple nodes or interfaces Agoura Road Calabasas, CA USA Tel Document No.: Rev G April Page 1

A full-featured TCL interface provides access to all IxLoad functions. In addition, a test configuration created with the IxLoad GUI can be turned into an automation TCL script with a single click of the mouse.
