3 Functional Requirements: System must allow user to enter any term (Don t allow symbols or numbers). System must allow user to perform search for multiple times. System must find and outputs the definition for the term entered by user. System must allow user to view the definition of a term.

4 Non Functional Requirements : System must be available 24*7 (Assumption). System must interface with Company s REST API. System must be easy to use. System must provide cross browser / platform support(example : IE,Chrome,Firefox,Windows, MAC). System must also support mobile users.

6 Used Modular Programming approach to separate the functionality of project into independent and interchangeable modules. Worked with Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern. Developed service(s) to work with resource(s). Stored application constants in final class to avoid Constant Interface Anti Pattern.

10 Used Eclipse IDE for development. Developed UI using HTML,CSS and Bootstrap. Performed client side validations using JQuery. Used AJAX for communication between client and server. Implemented algorithm for finding term in dictionary with linear time complexity.

11 Used JAX-RS API to communicate with company s REST API and implemented it with Jersey framework. Developed different modules in the application so that they can be reused later.

12 Used JUnit to perform unit testing. Included JUnit Dependancy in pom.xml so that maven can get it for us. Performed 2 tests.one to search for word that has first letter less than M (to search from front) and other helps to test the word that has first letter greater than M (Search from back of dictionary).

13 Configured tomcat server (v9.0) as default runtime when running in localhost. Also deployed this application in HEROKU Cloud Platform as a service. Added Web App Runner jar and procfile to project. Deployed WAR file remotely via Git Deployment to HEROKU.

14 Since it is deployed in HEROKU,it is assumed that this application will get more requests from users. It is necessary to adopt good load balancing strategies. Assuming that,this application will be used by future developers to add new features,it is well documented. Design can be made better by taking user feedback.

15 Initially when I tried to map JSON data to my Model object,i got JSON Decoding error. When multiple requests are issued at same time,this application will crash. Since I am new to HEROKU,it took me more time in deployment. It takes more time when you have to find definition for terms that exists in the middle of the dictionary.

16 Allowing Robot to access the middle element will help to perform binary search which will decrease the time complexity. If we plan to allow multiple users to access this application at same time,it is better to issue a new API key to each request (A robot to process request and release back to pool). We can store the entire dictionary in a database and perform indexing to make effecient data retrival.
