How a domain name related to an IP Address. Domain name is a name given to website, these websites are stored on web server having a unique IP Address. We can also access website by its IP Address. A DNS server of ISP resolves domain name into its IP address. xi. Explain 2 measures that a school should take to ensure security of their computer network. Repeater Ans :- A network interface card (NIC) is a circuit board that is installed in a computer so that it can be connected to a network. A repeater is a device that amplifies signals transmitted on the network. It is used to extend a network beyond the segment length of the wire used. xiii. How do Computer networks reduce hardware costs of an organization? Explain with the help of example. By sharing resources computer networks reduce hardware costs of an organization. For example by sharing printer, scanner, internet connection etc. xiv. Does open source software only mean that the software is free of cost? Give reason for your answer. No, Because OSS Programmer may demand money for services, helping in installation and troubleshooting. xv. After realizing the issues with proprietary software, Ms. Pratiksha has decided to use only Open Source Software. Help him in understanding the above mentioned statement by giving suitable example. Ans :- Java is a case sensitive language. Case sensitive means lower and upper case letters are represented differently. For example "a" and "A" are two completely different things for Java. iii. Write a Java statement to Append a string ABC to the text that is already in the text area named jtextarea1. jtextarea1.append("abc"); iv. Identify programming language out of the following: HTML, C++, JAVA, MYSQL C++ and JAVA are programming languages. v. Differentiate of its applications: iseditable() and isenabled(). : iseditable is a method used to check whether control is Editable or uneditable. Social and Economic benefits of ICT: Social networking sites help people remain in touch with their nears and dears even when they are staying on opposite sides of the globe. Social networking sites help like-minded people come together and work for some cause. e-governance sites help people save their productive time by performing various government related jobs like getting some forms, depositing bills online. ICT helps economy grow at a faster rate as it provides transparency in the processes and helps the government to keep check on defaulters. Due to e-banking and use of plastic money more money is put in circulation leading to faster growth of GDP. iii. How do online retailers usually offer customers a wider range of products at prices that are lesser than those of traditional stores? Ans : As online retailers are directly purchase from supplier in bulk so they are providing at lower cost to customers. Whereas in case of traditional stores, intermediate margin of Distributors, C & F is involved that is why it is at higher cost. iv. List two disadvantages of e-governance to a disabled person. a. No personal touch/emotions b. Disabled person find it difficult to manage online information. v. How does E-business help organizations to provide better customer services?
