3 RELEASE NOTES Release Ntes fr V This is a maintenance release. The dcumentatin versin and date have been revised t keep in synch with the current release cycle. Release Ntes fr V Fr CI Autmatin (autrun) a new, ptinal ci.ini parameter minupdatedaccuntsperc specifies the minimum percentage (0-100) f updated accunts required fr CI t prceed with imprt and subsequent steps. This parameter is prcessed nly if bth f the fllwing are true: the autrun parameter is als specified (s that CI runs in autrun mde). the CI Cnfiguratin ptin Select fr imprt nly up-t-date and ffline accunts that have nt yet been exprted tday is nt checked. A valid value fr the parameter is any number 0 t 100. If the parameter is nt specified r the value is 0, CI will run its cycle independently f the updated accunts percentage. If the percentage f updated accunts is belw the specified minimum, CI Autrun will exit withut imprting. [BAPP-596] Release Ntes fr V and changes This release includes the fllwing changes. The minimum required Java versin fr the CI cmputer is nw 1.8 r later. If the CI cmputer has versin is 1.8 r later, the installatin will leave it as is. If it is nt at least versin 1.8, the installatin will upgrade it t 1.8 update 111. Therefre, yu must determine if this Java upgrade is acceptable n the CI cmputer. If anther applicatin n the CI cmputer depends n yur current versin f JRE and cannt tlerate a later versin, yu will have t determine whether t mve this ther applicatin r t install CI n an alternate cmputer. 2

4 Micrsft SQL Server 2008 is nw the minimum versin supprted. Release Ntes fr V and changes This release includes the fllwing change. SEDOLs are nly delivered when they are enabled fr the firm. Firms must be licensed by the Lndn Stck Exchange in rder t have SEDOLs enabled in the service. As f versin 3.7, CI supprts tw mdels fr managing encrypted user lgins and passwrds: default and enhanced. The new, default mdel stres the encrypted lgin/passwrd cmbinatins in the database. The enhanced mdel uses the n-disk keystre mdel previusly described in the Custdial Integratr Installatin Guide. The use f a keystre file is still supprted but nly if the lcatin f the keystre file is specifically defined using the ksdir parameter. If that parameter des nt exist when CI is run, the new encryptin mechanism is used. Fr new installatins OR upgrades frm CI 3.4 (r earlier): By default, n keystre file will be generated. User lgin and passwrd will use the default encryptin mdel with the encrypted lgin/passwrd cmbinatins in the database. Fr upgrades frm CI 3.5 and 3.6 (single instances r multiple instances n same database): If yu want t eliminate the keystre file requirement and yu d nt have a ksdir parameter defined (ciksfile is in wrking directry), as is the case fr mst single installatins, prceed with the upgrade. The system will autmatically switch t the new, default mdel fr lgins and n the first run f CI after the upgrade. The ciksfile is n lnger needed. If yu want t eliminate the keystre file requirement and yu d have a ksdir parameter defined yu have tw ptins. 1) Cpy the ciksfile t a wrking flder f a CI instance (if it is nt already there). Remve the ksdir parameter frm all places it is defined, meaning fr all CI instances. Run ne CI instance. The system will autmatically switch t using the new, default mdel fr encrypting lgins and passwrds. The ciksfile will be n lnger needed fr any CI instance. 2) Remve the ksdir parameter frm all places it is defined. Run each CI instance and re-enter the lgin and passwrd (they will be missing). The ciksfile will be n lnger needed. If yu want t keep the enhanced mdel with the keystre file mechanism and yu d have a ksdir parameter defined in all the right places, prceed with the upgrade. The system will keep using the keystre file, and there is nthing extra t d. If yu want t keep the keystre requirements and d nt have a ksdir parameter defined (ciksfile is in wrking directry), befre running any CI instance add the ksdir parameter t the runci.bat (r CI.ini depending n where the database name is set) fr every instance and have the parameter pint t ciksfile. The system will keep using the keystre file. 3

5 Fr upgrades frm CI 3.5 and 3.6 (multiple CI instances n same machine with different databases): If yu want t keep the keystre file mechanism and have a ksdir parameter defined in each CI instance, then prceed with the upgrade. The system will keep using the keystre file and there is nthing extra t d. If yu want t eliminate the keystre requirement and have a ksdir parameter defined in each CI instance, then fllw this prcedure fr each instance f CI. Befre running an instance, cpy the ciksfile frm the ksdir flder t the CI wrking flder fr the instance (if it is nt already there). Remve the ksdir parameter frm the runci<clientname>.bat file fr the instance. Run the CI instance. The system will autmatically switch t using the new, default mdel fr passwrd and lgin encryptin. Remve the ciksfile frm the wrking flder. Repeat this prcedure fr each CI instance. Release Ntes fr V IMPORTANT NOTE: If yu are upgrading CI frm a versin prir t , please read new imprtant instructins in the Installatin Guide regarding passwrd encryptin when multiple CI instances r multiple databases are used. Release Ntes fr V Enhancement This release includes the fllwing change. CI Lgin and Passwrd are nw encrypted in the CI database. The fllwing bug was fixed in this release: Bnds with n listed symbl and n manual security translatin were ften nt identified as Bnds and shwed Other in the security type utput field. Nw many f the unlisted bnds are nw crrectly identified as bnds. Release Ntes fr V

6 This release includes the fllwing changes. Case CI Autmatin (autrun) nw exprts the Untranslated Accunt file as well as ther requested lcal files independently f whether any financial data has been cnfigured fr exprt, r any has been received in the Imprt step. The functinality f the debugall parameter has changed. When enabled, it enables all lg levels including the Debug lg level. Other settings and utput frmerly prduced by debugall are nw cntrlled by ther parameters. CI parameters that cntrl utput f secndary files have been rerganized and imprved. New debug parameters have been added t allw fr mre granular cntrl f lgging details. Supprt fr Micrsft SQL Server 2012 has been added. The fllwing bugs were fixed in this release: Case Under certain cnditins CI Autmatin (AutRun) failed with fatal Errr Creating File when exprting the accunt translatins file. This prblem has been fixed. Case The symbl field in the Security Translatin dialg allwed a maximum f nly 50 characters, while the CI dcumentatin said the maximum length is 512. The dialg nw allws up t 512 characters. Cases 26655, 29752, 30002, 24661, 3002 The determinatin f Credit (C) and Debit (D) cdes was smetimes incrrect fr transactin reversals. Credit (C) and Debit (D) cdes have been crrected fr transactin reversals. Determinatin f Credit (C) and Debit (D) cdes did nt always take in accunt the transactin subtype (IN r OUT). Credit (C) and Debit (D) cdes have been crrected t reflect the transactin subtype IN r OUT in Transfer, Jurnal, Pint f Sale, Incme, Interest and ATM transactins. Release Ntes fr V3.4 CI V3.4 includes the fllwing changes. Perfrmance imprvements have been made t the CI imprt prcess. Bulk Insert is available as an ptinal feature fr custmers wh have a large number f psitins, typically 10,000 r mre. This ptin, when prperly cnfigured, can imprve CI running time by 50% r mre. There are specific SQL Server requirements as well as additinal parameter settings fr this feature. Cntact Technical Supprt t btain mre infrmatin r t get this feature cnfigured fr yur CI instance. SQL Server 2000 is n lnger supprted fr CI. The fllwing bugs were fixed in this release: 5

7 Case In cases where a calculated price was used fr bnds, versus a price directly frm the custdian r frm IDC, CI was truncating the last tw decimal digits f the price. This prblem has been crrected. CI 3.4 will utput up t the maximum number f decimal digits set fr the firm, which is by default fur. Upn request, Technical Supprt can set the number f decimal places fr all security calculated prices t any number greater than ne. Case In the rare case that the calculated price was r less, CI wuld verride the price accrding t the setting f the verwritepszerunits parameter. In CI 3.4, when a security has n IDC price and n price frm the custdian, the value utput t the prices file will be calculated using the units and market value supplied in the psitin (if available). Nte that the utput price culd be truncated t zer if the number f decimal zers is equal r greater than the maximum cnfigured precisin fr calculated prices (default = 4). Case When the user mapped an accunt translatin in CI, the default earliest transactin trade date ( Tx Date ) was the start date set in the previus accunt mapping. The field nw defaults t tday s date. Case CI had a fixed maximum f fur decimal places fr security calculated prices. Upn request, Technical Supprt can set the number f decimal places t any number greater than ne. The default is fur. The fllwing bugs are fixed in this release: Case CI did nt generate an errr message when it was unable t exprt files because the user did nt have write access t the exprt flder. CI nw generates a pp-up message t the user if it cannt exprt files because the user des nt have the required permissins t the utput flder. Case 41460, In sme cases histrical transactins were exprted again n the secnd CI exprt after the user mapped the accunt. Nw each transactin is imprted and exprted nly nce after the user maps the accunt. 8 Case A new ptinal parameter ( delimiter ) can be used t specify a delimiter character in utput files. Fr example t set a cmma as the delimiter set delimiter=, in the CI.ini file. The default is ' '. The fllwing bug is fixed in this release: Case 33657, Occasinal netwrk failures caused CI t abrt r hang during the imprt prcess. When a knwn netwrk failure ccurs, CI nw resends the request fr data t the server until a respnse is received r until the maximum number f retries is reached. In mst failure cases the respnse is successfully received after the first retry. This prblem has been crrected and CI will nw imprt the transactin crrectly. If yu have a versin f CI prir t V2.0 please cntact technical supprt t receive instructins n hw t Fix The fllwing bug was fixed in this release: Case The presence f certain characters, including a slash, in the name f a financial institutin caused an errr when CI attempted t generate the name f an utput file fr that institutin. CI has been changed t replace any characters that are nt valid in a file name with the dash ( - ) character. 9 CI V is a minr release that includes the fllwing changes. This release has been tested n Java 1.7. The minimum required Java versin fr the CI cmputer is 1.6.0_03 r later. If the CI cmputer has versin is 1.6.0_03 r later, the installatin will leave it as is. If it is nt at least versin 1.6.0_03, the installatin fr this release will upgrade it t 1.6.0_32. Yu must determine if it is acceptable t upgrade Java n this cmputer t 1.6.0_32. If anther applicatin n this cmputer depends n yur current versin f Java and cannt tlerate a later versin, yu will have t determine whether t mve this ther applicatin r t install CI n an alternate cmputer. The fllwing bugs are fixed in this release: Case CI did nt set transactins date t 'latest' when newly added accunts were stale. In very specific situatins, CI was nt prperly transitining an accunt ut f the first time retrieval state int a state f retrieving nly newly psted transactins. This failure t transitin culd result in CI retrieving and delivering transactins it had previusly delivered. CI nw prperly handles the transitin thus eliminating these instances where transactins are delivered t the CI utput files n mre than ne ccasin. Case CI upgrade failed n upgrades f versins earlier than CI has been fixed t prperly handle cnversin frm specific earlier versins f CI. Case CI incrrectly utput a price f $1 in certain cases where price was calculated and units and/r market value were reprted as negative by the surce. CI has been fixed t crrectly calculate price in these cases. If yu have a versin f CI prir t V2.0 please cntact technical supprt t receive instructins n hw t CI V is a minr release that includes the fllwing changes: The threshld fr determining if an accunt is stale has changed. CI nw determines an accunt t be stale if at least ne psitin in the accunt des nt cntain values fr the prir business day. In earlier releases, the default was that 50% r mre f the psitins had t be stale fr the accunt t be cnsidered stale. The new default value applies bth t new CI installatins and t CI upgrades. This change affects the stalepsitinpercentage parameter. In prir releases the parameter value and assciated rule was greater than r equal t 50%. The rule is nw checking fr a number f stale psitins as a percentage greater than 0%, meaning CI will flag an accunt as stale if at least ne psitin is stale. If yu verrde this nte that the new lgic checks fr greater than the parameter's value, nt greater r equal t it. If yu have questins, cntact supprt at ByAllAccunts. 8

10 Infrmatin displayed in the Untranslated Securities area has been enhanced: In the Details screen fr Untranslated WebPrtfli securities, the Untranslated securities referenced by psitins table nw has these additinal clumns: Price and Price Date. Added File buttns t enable users t generate ptinal files frm the user interface. In prir releases, users culd nly print these files. The files are: Untranslated Securities, default file name UNDEFSEC_yyyymmdd.csv. The buttn is next t the Untranslated WebPrtfli securities table. Undefined Securities Referenced frm Psitins, default file name UNDEFSECPOSREF_yyyymmdd.csv. The buttn is next t the Untranslated securities referenced by psitins table fund in the Security Details windw. Undefined Securities Referenced frm Transactins, default file name UNDEFSECTXREF_yyyymmdd.csv. The buttn is next t the Untranslated securities referenced by transactins table fund in the Security Details windw. Untranslated WebPrtfli accunts, default file name is UNTRANSLATEDACCT_yyyymmdd.csv. The buttn is next t the Untranslated WebPrtfli (WP) accunts table. Untranslated securities will nw be exprted if the utputuntranslatedsecurities parameter is set. If yu have a versin f CI prir t V2.0 please cntact technical supprt t receive instructins n hw t CI V is a minr release that includes the fllwing changes: If the CI Exprt step fails due t permissin settings n Windws 7, CI prduces an errr message that enumerates the pssible reasns fr the exprt failure. Case b03-4cc59cde3120&return_mdule=Bugs&return_id=7a7e38e1-7f7b-f08d-9b03-4cc59cde3120&return_actin=DetailViewCI nw supprts a new parameter, inputflder, that specifies the lcatin f custm transactin translatin files, hlding filter files, and transactin filter files. The parameter can be set in the CI.ini file r in the cmmand line. The default lcatin fr these files is the CI rt installatin flder (typically \Prgram Files\Custdial Integratr). If the specified input flder des nt exist r the user des nt have access t it, an errr message is displayed and the applicatin exits. Please refer t the CI Installatin Guide fr mre infrmatin. Case CI nw maintains the dates n which each security translatin was created and last mdified. The dates can be seen in the user interface and in the Security Translatins file. Case CI culd smetimes encunter the errr java.net.scketexceptin: Cnnectin reset java.net.scketexceptin when transferring large amunts f data frm ByAllAccunts t the lcal envirnment. The cde respnsible fr the stream handling has been imprved t prevent this situatin and t include a reasnable number f additinal retries when such an errr des ccur. 9

11 Case 19532, CI was reprting the errr CI cmmunicatin errr: The prfile was nt fund during the Imprt peratin. This errr was caused when CI issued any single data request where the number f prfile bjects queried exceeded This prblem has been fixed and Imprts cntaining requests f this type will nw cmplete withut errr. Default currency cde CI nw supprts a new parameter, defaultaccuntcurrency, that specifies the default currency t use fr accunt translatin. The value will be USD if the parameter is nt specified. The ptins fr this parameter are listed in the CI Installatin Guide. Additinal autmatin capabilities CI nw prvides the ability t autmatically translate untranslated accunts when run in scripting mde. It als prvides the ability t autmatically exprt the security translatin file t the CI utput flder during the Exprt step. Please cntact ByAllAccunts fr mre infrmatin n these capabilities. Release Ntes fr V3.1 Yu may upgrade yur existing installatin f CI V2.0 (r later) t the V3.1 release by running the CI V3.1 installatin.
