6 Template Method: Specic Renements of Submachines `Dene the skeleton of an algorithm in an operation, deferring some steps to subclasses. Template Method lets subclasses redene certain steps of an algorithm without changing the algorithm's structure.'[ghjv94:pg.325] AbstractClass, standing for an `Application', with a TemplateMethod (`the skeleton of an algorithm') { This method may call operations dened in AbstractClass or other classes and some abstract PrimitiveOperations ConcreteClass, an AbstractClass subclass standing for an individual `MyApplication': implements the PrimitiveOperations `to carry out subclass-specic steps of the algorithm' The ASM Method shifts the object-oriented subclassing and inheritance paradigm to the more general and mathematically accurate ASM renement concept.
