You can integrate data from sources, such as flat files, databases, and applications and securely write the data to NetSuite. You can use NetSuite objects as target in Data Synchronization tasks, mappings, and Mapping Configuration tasks. When you run a Data Synchronization task or a Mapping Configuration task, the NetSuite RESTlet Connector uses the REST APIs to perform the specified operation and write data to NetSuite. Example You want to migrate sales data from a flat file to NetSuite. You can use NetSuite RESTlet Connector to read sales data from the flat file and write to NetSuite. The RESTlet bundle is updated after every upgrade. 10 Rules and Guidelines for NetSuite RESTlet Connector Consider the following rules and guidelines when you use NetSuite RESTlet Connector: When you use a static sublist as a target, you can only perform insert operations. When you delete NetSuite records and map both external ID and internal ID fields, internal ID takes precedence over external ID. If the internal ID is not valid, you cannot delete records. Note: The internal ID field appears as "id" in the user interface. The following table describes troubleshooting tips for errors that you might encounter when you use NetSuite RESTlet Connector. Error SSS_MISSING_REQD_ARGUMENT","message":"parse: Missing a required argument: value ":"SSS_INVALID_SUBLIST_OPERATION","notifyOff":false, "details":"you have attempted an invalid sublist or line item operation. You are either trying to access a field on a non-existent line or you are trying to add or remove lines from a static sublist. Solution Map the mandatory fields. You cannot perform update, upsert, or delete operation on a static sublist object. You create a NetSuite RESTlet connection on the Connections page. When you create the NetSuite RESTlet connection, enter the connection attributes that are specific to the NetSuite product to which you want to connect. Use the NetSuite RESTlet connection when you create a target object in a Data Synchronization task or Mapping Configuration task. NetSuite RESTlet Connection Properties When you set up a NetSuite RESTlet connection, you must configure the connection properties. The following table describes the NetSuite RESTlet connection properties: Property Runtime Environment Username Password Description The name of the runtime environment where you want to run the tasks. User name for a NetSuite account. User name is an address. Optional, if you use token-based authentication to access NetSuite. Password for the NetSuite account. Optional, if you use token-based authentication to access NetSuite. 12

For example, the following is a RESTlet URL format with REST Domain details appended in it: <REST Domain>/app/site/hosting/restlet.nl?script<ScriptID>&deploy=1 The following are examples of REST domain: - rest.na1.beta.netsuite.com for beta environment - rest.sandbox.netsuite.com for sandbox account - rest.netsuite.com or rest.na1.netsuite.com for production account Account Consumer Key Consumer Secret Token ID Token Secret NetSuite account ID. To find your account ID, log in to NetSuite and click Setup > Integration > Web Services Preferences. If you cannot access the Setup menu, navigate to Support > Go to Suite Answers > Contact support by phone. The page displays your account ID. The client key associated with the web service application. Required only for token-based authentication type. The client password to connect to the web service application. Required only for token-based authentication type. The token ID generated in NetSuite. Required if you want to use token-based authentication to access NetSuite. Optional if you use a user name and password to access NetSuite. The token secret generated in NetSuite. Required if you want to use token-based authentication to access NetSuite. Optional if you use a user name and password to access NetSuite. NetSuite RESTlet Token-Based Authentication You can configure NetSuite RESTlet connections to use token-based authentication to access NetSuite. Token-based authentication is the preferred method to access NetSuite. When a connection uses tokenbased authentication, Informatica Cloud uses a token ID and token secret to access NetSuite instead of a user name and password. To set up token-based authentication, you install a NetSuite RESTlet bundle for Informatica Cloud tokenbased authentication and generate a token ID and token secret in NetSuite. The token does not expire unless you revoke it from your NetSuite account. However, you might need to generate a new token if Informatica updates the bundle version in the future. You enter the generated token ID and token secret when you specify the NetSuite RESTlet connection properties in Informatica Cloud. NetSuite RESTlet Token-Based Authentication 13

14 Generating a NetSuite Token ID and Token Secret To use token-based authentication in NetSuite, install an Informatica token-based authentication bundle and generate the token ID and token secret. You use the token ID and token secret when you configure the NetSuite RESTlet connection in Informatica Cloud. 1. Log in to NetSuite using a Full Access or Administrator account. 2. Navigate to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search and Install Bundles. 3. Search for the InformaticaTBABundle keyword. A bundle with Bundle ID of appears in the search results. 4. Select InformaticaTBABundle and install it. 5. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Access Tokens > New. 6. For Application Name, select InformaticaTBAIntegration. 7. Write down the access token and token secret displayed on the page. You enter the token ID and token secret in Informatica Cloud when you configure the NetSuite RESTlet connection. Note: If you lose the token information, you must generate another token in NetSuite. 15 C H A P T E R 3 Data Synchronization Tasks with NetSuite RESTlet Connector This chapter includes the following topic: NetSuite RESTlet Targets in Data Synchronization Tasks, 15 NetSuite RESTlet Targets in Data Synchronization Tasks You can use a NetSuite RESTlet object as a single target in a Data Synchronization task. You can also use multiple related NetSuite RESTlet standard objects as targets in a Data Synchronization task. You can use a pair of parent and child standard objects as targets. When you configure two NetSuite RESTlet targets, you can select a standard object as the parent object and add a child object. You can use a custom object as a single target. You configure NetSuite RESTlet target properties on the Target page of the Data Synchronization Task wizard. The following table describes the NetSuite RESTlet target properties: Property Connection Target Object Child Object Display technical names instead of labels Display target fields in alphabetical order Description Name of the target connection. Select the primary target object. If the primary target object is a standard object, select a related child object to use two objects as the target. Displays technical names instead of business names. Displays target fields in alphabetical order instead of the order returned by the source system. 15

19 C H A P T E R 5 Data Type Reference This chapter includes the following topics: Data Type Reference Overview, 19 NetSuite RESTlet and Transformation Data Types, 19 Data Type Reference Overview Informatica Cloud uses the following data types in mappings, Data Synchronization tasks, and Mapping Configuration tasks with NetSuite RESTlet: NetSuite RESTlet native data types NetSuite RESTlet data types appear in the Fields tab for Source and Target transformations when you choose to edit metadata for the fields. Transformation data types Set of data types that appear in the remaining transformations. They are internal data types based on ANSI SQL-92 generic data types, which Informatica Cloud uses to move data across platforms. Transformation data types appear in all remaining transformations in a mapping, Data Synchronization task, or Mapping Configuration task. When Informatica Cloud reads source data, it converts the native data types to the comparable transformation data types before transforming the data. When Informatica Cloud writes to a target, it converts the transformation data types to the comparable native data types. (precision to nanosecond) * String data types are imported with a precision of 256 characters. You can change the precision to the appropriate length. To improve performance, decrease the precision of String data types. Note: Use the following date and time format: Date: mm/dd/yyyy Time: hh:mm a, where a stands for AM or PM Check_box Data Type To set a field of the Check_box data type to TRUE, specify the value as T. When the Secure Agent writes data to a NetSuite target field of the Check_box data type, it converts the value T to TRUE. If the field contains any other value, the Secure Agent treats it as FALSE.
