1 Migrating iway Data Quality Server Plans and Cmpnents n Windws This use case describes hw t migrate iway Data Quality Server (DQS) plans and assciated cmpnents frm develpment (fr example, a DQS GUI wrkspace n Windws) t a runtime server (fr example, DEV/TEST/PROD) n anther Windws hst. General Overview and Initial Setup This use case references a DQS plan called SQL_AUTH.plan, which invkes a SQL database call and writes the utput t disk. The DQS directry fr design time is called wrkspace and cntains the DQS plan, as shwn in the fllwing image. In additin, the wrkspace directry cntains a runtime cnfiguratin file fr the DQS plan (SQL_AUTH_runtimecnf.xml). T generate this runtime cnfiguratin file at any time, right-click the SQL_AUTH.plan file in the File Explrer, select New frm the cntext menu, and then click Runtime Cnfiguratin, as shwn in the fllwing image. 1

2 This file defines data surces, flder shrtcuts, runtime cmpnents, initial parallelism level, and lgging, as shwn in the fllwing image. Nte: The highlighted value MSSQL_IBI_User is the data surce that is referenced in this use case. Cnfiguring the Runtime Envirnment 1. Lg n t the Infrmatin Builders Technical Supprt Center ( 2. 3 3. Dwnlad the iway-dqs ga runtime.zip file, as shwn in the fllwing image. Nte: Ensure that the versin number matches the DQS versin that is being used in the design time envirnment. 4. Extract the iway-dqs ga runtime.zip file t a lcatin n yur file system. A flder structure is created, as shwn in the fllwing image. Nte: This runtime flder structure is identical t the \runtime flder in yur DQS design time rt directry. 3

4 The fllwing table lists and describes the key files r flders that yu need t be aware f. File / Flder runtime.prperties \bin \license_keys \server\etc Descriptin Prperties file cntaining the perfrmance ptins. Cntains the.dll files that are required fr MS SQL authenticatin. The runcif.bat file that is lcated in this flder is required fr DQS cmmand line (batch) mde. Cntains the DQS license file. Cntains the cnfiguratin files that are required t run a DQS plan as an nline service. Migrating the iway DQS Plan and Assciated Cmpnents 1. Mve the fllwing files frm the design time envirnment t the runtime envirnment: sqljdbc_auth.dll file int the \bin flder sqljdbc4.jar file int the \lib flder SQL_AUTH.plan file and the SQL_AUTH.runtimecnf.xml file int the \iway_dqs_runtime_904 flder Nte: The entire \runtime flder under yur DQS design time directry structure can be cpied t the runtime server. 2. Update the runcif.bat file. The runcif.bat file, which is lcated in the \bin flder, allws yu t test a DQS plan using a cmmand line. This file cntains the JAVA_OPTS parameter, which enables yu t mdify yur Java runtime settings. Fr example, if integrated authenticatin is required when lgging n t an MS SQL database, then set the JAVA_OPTS parameter as fllws: 4

5 set JAVA_OPTS=-Djava.library.path=C:\DQS_runtime_904\bin This setting includes the sqljdbc_auth.dll file that is required. The JDBC cnnectin string in the SQL_AUTH_runtimecnf.xml file must be updated as fllws: jdbc:sqlserver://hstname:prt;databasename=dbname;integratedsecurity=true In this use case, dbname wuld be set t MSSQL_IBI_User. Testing Yur Migrated iway DQS Plan 1. Test yur DQS plan in the cmmand line mde f the DQS runtime envirnment. 2. Frm a Windws PwerShell cmmand prmpt, in the \bin directry, execute the fllwing cmmand:./runcif -runtimecnfig../sql_auth_runtimecnf.xml../sql_auth.plan Fr example: 5
