4 Introduction The Cordova Plugin provided for Samsung developers are a set of JavaScript APIs based on Apache Cordova. Using the Cordova Plugins, app developers can develop apps for Samsung devices effortlessly. Currently we provide Cordova Plugins for the following Samsung device-specific features: SDK version Rich Notification MultiWindow S Pen SDK version 1.2 Bluetooth Low Energy Image Filter Remote Sensor S Planner SDK version 1.3 S Health SDK version 1.4 Spass SDK version 1.5 NFC Spass (supports Java 1.6) These Cordova Plugins can be used with Cordova based hybrid applications which are created using Hybrid Application Framework by ISVs. Also, Cordova based web applications can be created using Cordova command line tools. Release Notes 3

5 Installing/Adding Plugins To add the Cordova Plugin to your Cordova project: Unzip the Cordova Plugins into directory, and from the root of your Cordova project add the plugin. $ cordova plugin add <path to plugin folder> In addition to the above step, for Pen Plugin you must do the following: cordova plugin add /static Release Notes 4

6 Supported features Bluetooth Low Energy The BLE Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Check if BLE features are supported on the device. Check if Bluetooth is turned on or off on the device. Scan the nearby BLE devices. Connect to the BLE devices. Read Characteristics of the services offered by the devices. Start the BLE Advertiser for sending small data to BLE Central Role device. Stop the BLE Advertiser to stop sending of small data. Image Filter The Image Filter Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Applying a specific filter to an image. Applying a filter to a copy. Initializing the Image Filter class. Selecting an Image from a gallery or a recent folder. Setting Image Transparency. MultiWindow The MultiWindow Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Check the MultiWindow support on the device. Perform an action inside the MultiWindow. Get a list of MultiWindow enabled packages and their main activity. NFC The NFC Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Read the NFC Tag. Write data on the NFC Tag. Check Information about the NFC Tag. Make a NFC Tag read-only. Clear the NFC Tag. Remote Sensor The Remote Sensor Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Starts user activity sensor listener. Check the user state, whether the user is walking, running etc. Starts pedometer listener. Gets step count of the user who is wearing the device. Gets the wearing state of the device. Gets sensor information of specified sensor type. Stops sensor listener of specified sensor type. Release Notes 5

7 RichNotification The RichNotification Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Check if the Rich Notification feature is supported. Check if the Gear device is connected to the host device. Receive callbacks when the notifications on the Gear are read or removed. Create/Update the notifications. Dismiss the notifications. Spass The Spass Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Recognize a fingerprint Cancel recognition request Check a registered fingerprint on the device Registering a fingerprint through the Enroll screens of the Setting menu Get a list of names and indexes of registered fingerprints Add title to the user interface Set the transparency of background elements Check a registered fingerprint on the device Set dialog behavior when background elements are touched Observe on a device when a registered fingerprint is changed S Health The S Health Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Adding a Required Observer Checking Acquired Permission Connecting to the Data Store Getting Current Entry Removing the Observer Requesting Permission S Pen The S Pen Cordova Plugin provides methods to: Check if the SPen feature is supported on the device. Create and launch the SPen surface view in the pop-up mode with required functions. Create and launch the SPen inline view in the native window with required functions. Remove the pop-up surface. 9 Known Issues/Limitations S Pen Plugin: using native SPenSDK Application (dynamic) is not supported. RichNotification Plugin: currently supports Gear S only. Image Filter Plugin: modified to display in portrait mode when the image is modified. Spass plugin version 1.5: If-Else is used instead of Switch(String) to support Java 1.6 but is not supported in version 1.4 Spass plugin version 1.5: A third parameter enablepassword has been added to startidentifywithdialog() method, see the API reference for more details.
