To begin, insert the media that came with your computer into your CD / DVD drive. While the media is in the computer, power the computer off and restart the system.

1 To begin, insert the media that came with your computer into your CD / DVD drive. While the media is in the computer, power the computer off and restart the system. Upon restart you will need to press and hold either the C or Option key to startup from the media. NOTE: The C key will automatically select the CD / DVD drive while the Option key will give you a horizontal menu of icons which you can select which item you want to use to startup the computer. 1. After the computer has finished starting up you should be prompted to pick a language to use for installing Mac OS X. Click one time on the appropriate language then click on the icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen 2. After clicking the icon the installer will startup. 6 14. On the Customize window you can click the checkboxes for any of the software that you wish to either install or remove. Apple has some items installed by default, as well as some that cannot be remove. You can also click on the disclosure triangles to the left of the entries to see subcomponents for each category. Once you ve made your changes click the OK button to continue. 15. The installation process for Mac OS X generally takes around minutes depending upon the computer s hardware and resource.
