Accessing Tomenai.net from a PC to view selected files 2. Downloading selected files to a PC and copying them to a tablet for viewing 3. 3 Tablet PC Tomenai.net has been verified to run on the ipad2 and New ipads from Apple Inc. We recommend using an ipad to access Tomenai.net. Update your ios to 6.0 or later version. With earlier versions, an ID and password are required every time you move a page or open a file. A separate app is required to view PDF and Mpeg4 movies on a tablet that runs on an OS other than ios, such as Android. See the related information. 4 Page The URL for the top page is Tomenai.net. It s more convenient if you create a bookmark for it. The top half of the page is for general customers, while the bottom half is for registered customers. An ID and password are required to view pages for registered customers. 5 Opening and Saving Files To directly open a file from your PC, left-click on this icon. To save a file onto your PC, right-click on this icon, select Save As (the actual wording will depend on your browser), and save the file in the desired location. With an ipad, tapping opens the file in PDF in Safari. MPEG4 data is played back as video in Safari. The apposite application plug-ins are required to view PDF and MPEG4 files on a PC. Check that you have them. Clicking the Tomenai.net logo in the top left corner returns you to the top page. Mn_cst-4

6 Installing itunes To copy data to your ipad or install PDF viewing apps, install itunes in your PC. itunes is available free of charge from Apple. Search for itunes at Apple s download site. Data can be copied and apps installed without going through itunes. For details, see the explanations provided by Apple. Mn_cst-5

7 App for Viewing PDF Files on an ipad Install an app for viewing PDF files on your Pad. It is recommended to use Bookman Pro for ipad because it is easy to use and allows page links to be set in PDF files. Install it as necessary. English version is available. Search for Bookman Pro for ipad at web site. Bookman Pro for ipad costs $2.99. Sumitomo Heavy Industries has no relations with Bookman Pro for ipad. Other apps are available for viewing PDF files. 8 Copying PDF Files from a PC to an ipad 2 Connect the ipad to your PC and start up itunes. Click 1 Device(iPad) >> 2 App >> 3 Bookman to open the file list in 4 Bookman Download data from Tomenai.net and save it to the desired folder. With Explorer, add the desired file to the file list in 4 Bookman by drag and drop, then click on 5 [Sync] to copy the data to the ipad. There are other ways to copy PDF files. 9 Setting Up Bookman 2 Start up Bookman and click on 1 Settings >> 2 Browsing Settings and select next to 3 Tab Zone. Returns to My Library (file list) 3 Returns to previous page Advances to next page Displays a page list Link buttons appearing on the page do not apply to this tap zone setting. They perform the indicated operations. 1 Other settings are intended to make the app is easy to use. Set them as desired. Mn_cst-8

10 Setting Up the My Library View My Library displays the files in the ipad. As the default, the top pages of those files appear as thumbnails on a book shelf. You can change how the thumbnail and file name appear by tapping the button in the upper left corner. File names are not the title of documents. They are abridged descriptions of the site storage location in alphanumerics. To show the files in the app by their document titles, change the file names after downloading the files to your PC. 11 Copying Video Files from a PC to an ipad 1 2 Connect the ipad to your PC and start up itunes. Click on 1 Library/Movie to open the file list in 2 Movies. 3 4 Download data from Tomenai.net and save it to the desired folder. With Explorer, add the desired file to the file list in 2 Movies by drag and drop. Place a checkmark next to the files to copy in 3 ipad >> 4 Movies, then click on 5 [Sync]. 12 Playing Videos Video files are played back using the Videos app that is bundled with the ipad. Videos cannot be played back using the Bookman app for PDF files. When directly accessing Tomenai.net over a Wi-Fi connection, Tomenai.net pages, PDF files and videos (MPEG4) can be seamlessly played back in Safari that is bundled with the ipad. File names are not the title of documents. They are abridged descriptions of the site storage location in alphanumerics. 13 Setting Up the ipad 2 To view the registered customer pages of Tomenai.net on an ipad, go to Settings >> 1 General and turn off 2 VPN. You may not be able to log in. 1 To use Safari with VPN on, free up memory in Safari as follows. 1. Press the home button rapidly in succession twice. 2. Touch and hold the Safari icon at the bottom of the screen, then tap the minus sign that appears in the upper left corner to hide the icon. 3. Press the home button rapidly in succession twice to return to the ipad as before. Mn_cst-12
