Instructors should feel free to customize the rubric to suit their grading standards and/or to adjust the point values. Suggested Scoring Distribution: Above average = student completes 80% or more of task(s); average = student completes 70 79% of task(s); below average = student completes 69% or less of task(s) Skills Check Assessment 1: Copy and Paste Data Between Worksheets in a Sales Workbook File: EL1-C5-A1-EPSales.xlsx 1 Organization, Open EPSales.xlsx, Save As EL1-C5-A1-EPSales.xlsx ,, Typing 2. Turn on display of the Clipboard task pane, click Clear All button, then complete the following: a c. Select and copy cells A7 through C7; select and copy A10 through C10; then select and copy A13 through C13. d f. Display second worksheet, make A7 active, then paste the Avalon Clinic cells; make A10 active, then paste Stealth Media cells; then make A13 active and paste the Danmark Contracting cells. g. Make the third worksheet active, then complete similar steps to paste the cells in same location as second worksheet. h. Clear contents of Clipboard task pane, then close. 3. Change names of Sheet1 tab to 2010 Sales, Sheet2 tab to 2011 Sales, and Sheet3 tab to 2012 Sales. 4, 7 4. Change colors of 2010 Sales tab to blue, 2011 Sales tab to 4 green, and 2012 Sales tab to yellow. 7. Apply the Accounting Number Format style with no decimal places to D4 (on all three worksheets). 5-6 Formulas 5. Display 2010 Sales worksheet, select all three tabs, then insert 4 a formula in D4 that sums amounts in cells B4 and C4. 2 Assessment 2: Copy, Paste, and Format Worksheets in an Income Statement Workbook File: EL1-C5-A2-CMJanIncome.xlsx 1 Organization, Open CMJanIncome.xlsx, Save As EL1-C5-A2-3 CMJanIncome.xlsx. 2 Copy cells A1 through B17 in Sheet1, paste into Sheet2. (Using Paste Options button, keep Source Column Widths.) 3 3, 5-6, Typing 3. Make changes to the Sheet2 worksheet: a. Adjust row heights so they match heights in Sheet1. b. Change the month from January to February. c e. Change amount in B4 to 97,655; the amount in B5 to 39,558; then the amount in B11 to 1, Change name of Sheet1 tab to January and name of Sheet2 tab to February. 6. Change height of row 1 to b. Change font size of text in cell A1 to 14 points. c. Insert Olive Green, Accent 3, Lighter 60% fill in A Select cells A2 through G2, insert Olive Green, Accent 3, Darker 50% fill color; select B2 through G2, change text color to white and turn on italics. (Text in these cells is right-aligned.) Select A3 through G3, insert Olive Green, Accent 3, Lighter 80% fill color; select A7 through G7, insert Olive Green, Accent 3, Lighter 80% fill color; select A11 through G11, insert Olive Green, Accent 3, Lighter 80% fill color. 11. In Excel button, make cell A3 active, then change the number from $300,000 to $400,000; copy the number in cell A3 down to cells A4 through A10. Click Word button on Taskbar, then open EL1-C5-A5- DWLtr.docx. At message about updating, click Yes. Create and Format a Sales Worksheet Using Formulas File: EL1-C5-VB-CMSemiSales.xlsx TOTAL POINTS 35 1 Typing,, At a blank workbook, create worksheet shown in Fig as follows: 12 Formulas, Do not type data in cells D4 through D9; instead enter a formula that totals first-half and second-half yearly sales. Apply formatting shown in the figure, including changing font sizes, column widths, row heights, shading, and borders. Make the following changes to data in Sheet3: Change January Expenditures to March Expenditure. Change Research and Development department supplies to $65,000 and equipment amount to $150,000. Change Technical Support department supplies amount to $21,750 and equipment amount to $43,525. Change Facilities department equipment amount to $18,450. Create a new worksheet that summarizes supplies and equipment totals for January, February, and March. Apply same formatting to worksheet as applied to other three Page 5

Include weight conversions: 1 ounce to grams; 1 pound to kilograms; 1 ton to metric tons. Include volume conversions: 1 fluid ounce to milliliters; 1 pint to liters; 1 quart to liters; 1 gallon to liters. 2 Research, Formulas, 3 Typing, 4 Organization, Part 4 Locate a site on the Internet that provides formula for converting Fahrenheit temperatures to Celsius, then create another worksheet in workbook with the following: Insert Fahrenheit temperatures beginning with zero, continuing to 100, and incrementing by 5 (for example, 0, 5, 10, 15); then insert formula converting Fahrenheit temperatures to Celsius. Include company name Gateway Global in both worksheets. Apply additional formatting to improve the visual appeal of worksheets. Rename both sheet names, then apply a color to each tab (name and color are user-chosen). Save as EL1-C5-CS-GGConv. Print both worksheets centered horizontally and vertically, then close the workbook.
