1 Summary f changes in DIPPlus v2.14 Since its last prductin release there have been tw main areas f wrk n DIPPlus, namely user interface simplificatin and barcde scanning. A. We are undertaking an extensive prgram f visual simplificatin and streamlining f the DIPPlus user interface (UI), with the fllwing aims: t de-clutter parts f the UI, including the remval f unnecessary cntrls and unhelpful messages and warnings t remve sme sftware features that are little-used, prly designed, r add little value t mst users t streamline file handling, particularly when pening r imprting blasts t simplify training, by hiding r remving technical distractins t ease integratin between DIPPlus, SHOTPlus and BlastIQ. Abut half f the planned UI changes have been implemented in v2.14. The remainder will appear in future versins. B. Supprt fr barcde scanning has been added t DIPPlus as part f its hle dipping functinality. This wrk was prmpted by the use f barcdes t label rck sample bags at the FMG Slmn irn re mine in Western Australia, but ur intentin has been t make the functinality sufficiently generic that it can be used in many ther applicatins. A full descriptin f the scanning functinality is prvided under Scanning Barcdes in the Quickstart Guide n the Digital Bench website. Detailed list f changes Features Remved The Edit Primers screen has been remved, fr the fllwing reasns: Its functinality was very limited - yu cannt specify det and bster cunts separately, s yu cannt accunt fr lst r extra dets, fr example. Yu cannt change the type f det r bster prduct. Yu cannt add r delete an initiatin pint. Yu can nly edit the primer cunt f an existing pint. The extra primer cunt that yu enter in DIPPlus is nt visible in BlastIQ. (It is exprted t SP5, but SP5 des nt exprt it t BlastIQ.) It wuld take a cnsiderable amunt f wrk t change DIPPlus, SP5, the BML file frmat, and BlastIQ t handle primers (and initiatin data generally) in a 'crrect' way, and this effrt cannt be justified at the mment. Full supprt fr IS and PE will be implemented acrss the BlastIQ suite in the future. The ability t dip r lad hles in alphanumeric rder by hle label has been remved. The ability t dip all hles that require backfilling r redrilling (in label rder) has been remved. The ability t turn ff dipping r charging express mdes has been remved. 2 New feature: Barcde scanning Fr a full descriptin f the new barcde scanning functinality, please see Scanning Barcdes in the Quickstart Guide n the Digital Bench website. Splashscreen DIPPlus has a new lg which is visually cnsistent with that f SHOTPlus and LOADPlus. The warning abut the use f wireless transmitters in prximity t electric r electrnic initiatin systems has been remved. The Please Wait/Cntinue buttn has been remved. The splashscreen nw clses itself when initialisatin is cmplete. The device cde (used fr licensing) is nw shwn at the bttm centre f the splashscreen. Main Screen The buttn captins n this screen have been replaced with single wrds (see screensht 1 belw). The first time yu tap OPEN (frmerly Open a blast file ), a simplified file brwser will be shwn (see screensht 2). The flder tree has been remved. Instead, yu will nw see a flat list f all blast files that are lcated in the device s My Dcuments flder, r in any subflder belw it. After pening and clsing a blast, the next time yu tap OPEN yu will see a list f the mst recently used blasts, with the latest ne at the tp (see screensht 3). 3 Imprting a blast frm SHOTPlus Imprting a blast frm SHOTPlus has been simplified. Instead f shwing a brwser dialg frm which yu chse the blast t imprt, a message is nw shwn which tells yu which blast is available fr imprt. The reminder t start the cmms server in SHOTPlus has been remved. The warning abut hles that may nt have been released fr lading has been remved. Yu are n lnger prmpted fr a save lcatin after imprting a blast. Instead, DIPPlus nw saves all imprted blasts in the My Dcuments flder. If yu wish t mve the blast file int a subflder f My Dcuments, yu must use Windws Mbile s File Explrer app n the device t d this. After imprting a blast, it is nw pened autmatically. Dip/Charge Screen The buttn captins n this screen have been replaced with single wrds. The Clse this blast buttn has been remved. T clse a blast, tap the green tick buttn n the tlbar. The Merge new data buttn has been renamed IMPORT. Previusly, tapping this buttn shwed a ppup menu with ptins Merge frm server and Merge frm file. This ppup menu has been remved. The IMPORT buttn nw perfrms the same functin as the previus Merge frm server ptin. The Merge frm file ptin has been mved t the File menu and renamed Imprt frm file. When imprting new data frm SHOTPlus, yu are n lnger prmpted t chse the data tpics t imprt. DIPPlus nw imprts all tpics by default. Dipping View All menu ptins t dip hles in alphanumeric rder have been remved. This includes the ptins t dip hles requiring backfilling r redrilling. The ptin under the View menu t shw r hide the dipping path has been remved. The dipping path is nw always visible. An ptin has been added t the View menu t shw nly scanned hles n the blast plan. These are the hles that cntain ne r mre scanned barcdes. On the tabular view, tw new filters have been added t shw scanned hles (and either their scanned slt numbers r their scan cmments) at the tp f the table. Page 3 f 7

4 Under the Edit menu there is nw a Reset submenu frm which yu can reset the dipping data fr the selected hle, fr all hles n the dipping path, r fr all hles in the blast. When adding a new hle, it is nw pssible t cpy hle prperties frm an existing hle. Design depth, diameter and hle type are cpied frm the selected hle. Select the hle t cpy frm via the drp-dwn list and then tap the Cpy buttn. By default, the nearest hle t the new hle is selected in the list. Dipping Data Entry If a hle cannt be dipped fr any reasn, the captin at the tp f the data entry screen will say NOT DIPPABLE. If yu tap this captin, a message will be displayed which explains why the hle cannt be dipped. This behaviur is cnsistent with similar functinality n the charging data entry screen (if a deck cannt be laded). Page 4 f 7

5 Dipping Optins New ptin: Shw keybard when any input bx gets fcus. If this is ticked then the n-screen keybard will be shwn autmatically whenever any numeric edit bx n the dipping data entry screen is selected (e.g. hle depth, depth f water, temperature, etc). The ptin Exit screen when saving data in express mde has been remved, because express mde itself has als been remved. The dipping data entry screen will nw always clse when saving data fr a single hle. Charging View All menu ptins t lad hles in alphanumeric rder have been remved. The ptin under the View menu t shw r hide the lading path has been remved. The lading path is nw always visible. The Stem Hles menu ptin has been mved frm the Edit menu t the tp level menu. Under the Edit menu there is nw a Reset submenu frm which yu can reset the lading data fr all decks in the selected hle, all hles n the lading path, r all hles in the blast. Page 5 f 7

6 Charging Optins New ptin: Preferred lading screen. This lets yu chse which screen is shwn when yu tap n a hle n the blast view. The chices are lading summary r data entry. The frmer shws the interactive hle diagram which lets yu select the deck yu wish t lad, whereas the latter takes yu straight t the data entry screen fr the next ladable deck. This ptin als determines the screen which is shwn when yu tap Next r Previus n the data entry screen. New ptin: Shw keybard when any input bx gets fcus. The ptin Allw undipped hles t be laded is nw ticked by default when running DIPPlus fr the first time. COMMSPlus-related Changes On the General Optins/Cmms tab yu can nw chse between autmatic server discvery r manual input f server IP address. The latter ptin has been added because aut-discvery can nly discver COMMSPlus servers that are in the same subnet as the DIPPlus unit. The data merging mechanism has been imprved t reduce the likelihd f ut-f-memry errrs when receiving large updates frm COMMSPlus. Errr Reprter If DIPPlus suffers an ut-f-memry (OOM) cnditin, the errr reprter n lnger attempts t save the pen blast befre creating an errr reprt, as it is highly likely that this will result in a secnd OOM cnditin during saving, thereby ptentially causing file crruptin. The blast file will therefre nt cntain the data that has been entered by the user since the blast was last pened, but it will be saved elsewhere n the device. See this new FAQ n hw t recver blast data fllwing an OOM cnditin. Bug Fixes The fllwing issues have been fixed in v2.14: Crash n saving a blast if the Applicatin Data / Vlatile flder did nt exist. Dipping/lading paths were nt drawn crrectly if Imperial units are in use. Ppup menu n newly-added hles did nt appear if the new hle was within abut 2.5m f an existing hle. Crash n imprting a blast frm SHOTPlus if any.bmz file had been deleted frm the device by using File Explrer while DIPPlus was running. Crash n imprting an unsaved blast frm SHOTPlus if its hle cunt was greater than that f anther unsaved blast that had been imprted previusly. Crash n refreshing the blast data cache if any.bmz file n the device was crrupted. Keybard disappeared frm the Add Hle dialg if the screensaver kicked in r if the Hme buttn was pressed. Page 6 f 7

7 In the Add Hle dialg, design depth was limited t 100ft if Imperial units are in use. Water bar was nt drawn crrectly n the hle diagram under certain cnditins.
